Steve Moss Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Linked with a new name today:Miguel Torres Not only does he look quality, but he can play RB and LB according to his wiki. He would be an excellent choice, would strengthen the defense, assuming our interest is serious.
Arnie17 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I dont think Gibson is amazing, but would defo improve the team. Would Keef have made more than the 20 odd appearances then Gibson made last year if he was playing for Utd?
Bobby G Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Miguel Torres is average or just above at best. Never made it at RM although was given a run in the team. Looked a bit more interested in his hair and looks back then.
pick32 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Andrews is a better player than Gibson that's why he keeps him out of the national team.
braddock Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Andrews is a better player than Gibson that's why he keeps him out of the national team. Surely it only matters who you sign people from and not the player themselves? A Mama Diouf and Di Santo partnership would eclipse Shearer and Sutton for example...
dubdubdub Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Surely it only matters who you sign people from and not the player themselves? A Mama Diouf and Di Santo partnership would eclipse Shearer and Sutton for example... Di Santo would block their view of the sun at the very least.
AJW Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Andrews is a better player than Gibson that's why he keeps him out of the national team. Surely that has more to do with the manager (in this case Trappatoni)and how he wants the team to play ? is Eh Diouf better than Hoillet because Sam Allardyce played it that way? is Upson better than Micheal Dawson because Capello chose that at the world cup? and given the choice would Fergie play Andrews instead of Gibson
Give 'Em the Axe Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Andrews is a better player than Gibson that's why he keeps him out of the national team. I think that has more to do with Trappatoni's preference for a pair of 'destroyers' (hah) in central midfield than any reflection on Gibson's talent. A lot of Irish supporters, myself included, are sometimes mystified by Trap's selections. Personally speaking, the jury is still out on Gibson. Like a good deal of others, I am convinced that until he 'grows a pair' and imposes himself on games he'll not live up to his undoubted potential. That said, I'd like to see him at Rovers. Kean does seem to have a knack for encouraging youngsters.
Kelbo Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Andrews is a better player than Gibson that's why he keeps him out of the national team. SAF Would most certainly disagree with you, besides, Gibson can pass a ball and scores more goals than Andrews!
pick32 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I dont no one UTD fan who rates Gibson he is abit like our very own Pedersen looks good on the highlight real but crap overall.
rebelmswar Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I dont no one UTD fan who rates Gibson he is abit like our very own Pedersen looks good on the highlight real but crap overall. So you agree that he is at least half better than Andrews then?
AJW Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I dont no one UTD fan who rates Gibson he is abit like our very own Pedersen looks good on the highlight real but crap overall. you're right there also , but bear in mind Gibson will look bad compared to Scholes Giggs Anderson Carrick etc etc ...but Compared to Grella Andrews and Linganzi at Rovers , he'll look like Rolls-Royce!!
Nelsta Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 roversinsider Blackburn Rovers Spy RAUL...maybe that's why Balaji is so confident!! #Rovers
bennyboyt11 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Why are you comparing him to Andrews, Grella and Lingazi?
aXept Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 roversinsider Blackburn Rovers Spy RAUL...maybe that's why Balaji is so confident!! #Rovers Maybe that was an reply to this: reluctantnicko Alan Nixon Looks like Raul could be available ... As got mentioned a fortnight back ... One for the old romantics if it could come off

Arnie17 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Would love Raul I think he showed last season that he still has the hunger.
Mullionvagrant Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Would love Raul I think he showed last season that he still has the hunger. Agreed. I'd be more confident knowing that a leader of the quality of Raul was in the side going into the new season-could give the players the confidence for the new season they need to drive forward. (certainly not all the answers but team spirit can lift teams). Having said that i'm currently on holiday in Spain and am going to take some convincing to return to the u.k i can see its going to take some negotiations/finance to get Raul to rainy u.k.
1864roverite Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Pick Respect your views on the Andrews/Gibson scenario. Andrews is nowhere near a better player than Gibson. Look at the scoring/passing ratio and you will see Gibson has a better output, noggins do not play for manure whereas andrews just wastes his shirt in our team. I would tke most midfielders over Andrews.
briansol Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 is it just me who isnt too keen on raul It depends on how much his legs have gone. Sheringham proved that you can play in the PL as a striker without pace, and I think Raul is in the same bracket.
