It's not going to happen because it would be too good if it did.
roverandout Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 brought back down to earth in a minute, bump, being on this messageboard is like being on a rollercoaster.
BPF Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Ha we dont work that quick anymore!! Wish we would sign him......straight on the back of the shirt if he did! I'd be straight on a plane to get it on the back of a shirt personally!
Hughesy Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Should we show an interest at that price?? Tottenham have accepted a £1.8m bid from LA Galaxy for striker Robbie Keane. Full story: Daily Mail
Iceman Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Should we show an interest at that price?? Tottenham have accepted a £1.8m bid from LA Galaxy for striker Robbie Keane. Full story: Daily Mail Interesting that, because it clearly shows the type of businessman Levy is. He will rather sell Keane on the cheap to a team outside of the PL, than to a team in the PL. Wasn’t the price for Keane quoted at over 4mill pounds?
Hughesy Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Wasn’t the price for Keane quoted at over 4mill pounds? Something like £6m I think, which they then dropped to £4m.
TheNews Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Something like £6m I think, which they then dropped to £4m. Keane's transfer value is $3.6m or about £2.2m Problem is we would never had paid him the salary he wanted whereas LA Galaxy have He was on £55k a week at spuds and still had 2 years left on his contract so in theory spuds have not only got £2m+ for him they have now saved £5.7m in wages over the next 2 years There business with Keane is quite interesting really Bought him from Leeds for £7m, sold him to 'Pool for £20m resigned him for £12m then sold again for £2 making a £3m profit on a player transfers that scored over 100 goals for them. Levy is no mug Next
Amo Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I seriously had a dream last night that Venky's gathered the Ewood Park faithful outside to unveil a blockbuster signing to win back the fans and cement their ambitions. Venkatesh Rao announced it over the tannoy, and then up stepped Robbie Keane to the balcony, met by a chorus of groans, and the fans started filing out.
CaliRoverNYC Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 This would be one of those signings that would sell shirts and help the club on the pitch, but I wont hold my breath...
Billy Castell Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Raul is supposed to have fallen out with the Schalke manager. He's made life hell for many Real Madrid managers, fell out with Magath, and now the current manager. I see a pattern emerging here-is he a billy big balls who has a sky high opinion of himself because he is friends with the Spanish king? We'd need a strong yet diplomatic manager to stop him picking the team and throw his weight around like he owns the place.

67splitscreen Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Or we could just sack Kean and make him player manager???? He could do his badges with Salgado, awesome! 1and 2.
Billy Castell Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Or we could just sack Kean and make him player manager???? Hope you're not serious Maji (about the Raul part, not the Kean going bit).
67splitscreen Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Linked again. Probably just a re-hash on the back of his alleged weekend tantrums. Goal.com not the best!

Now then, if only we had the kind of manager used to dealing with egotistical primadonna footballers.... hmmm.... but who? Nothing to see here, move along.

Gav Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Got to say that Zac has been telling me for weeks now the Raul deal was very much alive. Seems the deal is still live, but he wants a fortune in wages, doubt we can match that, and I'd much rather we bought a centre back, than blow the budget on a striker.

Bring Raul in and, as a consequence, convince Samboogle to stay. Win-win.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 If we're going to make a move it needs to be now.
Hughesy Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 On the move, but its another club that have made the move according to Nicko.
StanLibuda Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 On the move, but its another club that have made the move according to Nicko. Hi, as I stated in the JJ-Thread I'm a Schalke supporter from Germany. I'm worried about the rumors about Raul and just want to know how reliable are these scources on this board. I know that Nicko is a very respected person here, but it is very uncommon on german boards that someone has a real clue what is going on the transfermarket. What about GAV and splitscreen?

My information comes from Zac, and Zac has sources that seem to be pretty much bang on the money. We have a couple of other posters on the site that are telling us that Rauls wages are out of our league, so he could be moving elsewhere, Malaga maybe? (Just a guess on my part).
Kamy100 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Zac's not often wrong so he must have some good information Re Raul. But as I posted a week or so ago have been told by Venky's that they have no interest in signing Raul, Schalke have also said that they Have Had No Enquiries About Raul

Ouch, sorry for the mistake. I'm pretty speechless, if he really wants to leave our club, because there is no real reason to leave. He plays every game and has a good standing in the team and his environment as well
