alexanders Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I read that Sevilla had him as a target for this summer, but wasnt able to flog Romaric to a turkish club in time to raise cash.

tonyoz Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Last season we went into the last game fighting for our lives against relegation. I think that we can agree then that by definition we weren't good enough. Of that team we have lost the future England captain, half the strike force and JJ from midfield. Junior also has not signed. Samba is edging towards the door. In replacement we have a striker from the Scottish leagues who is not going to be a 20 a season guy however hopeful you are of his potential. If Petrovic is even as good as JJ then we haven't improved that position in a team that remember wasn't good enough last year. We have a handful of days left for the first game of the season and what most are billing as a 6 pointer already. Every pundit I've read or heard from so far has us down for relegation and of those that have visited Brockhall (listen to the Sunday Supplement) we are supposedly in complete disarray. In what universe should the 'doom brigade' or any other section of the support be pleased with this state of affairs and why should they keep 'schtum'. I'm not attacking you personally but I find your opinion on this unfathomable and frankly puerile. Alternatively: "Not the finished article yet. Players to come in I hope, but a sensational training session today and the atmosphere is smoking!" Gav Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 I saw the sunday suppliment programme on sky. Basically they said Rovers are in a mess. Which is what others have said on here for a long time - who then received the doom merchants tag. The only hope is either Rovers shore up the defence, get a decent striker, the new players settle down and adapt very very quickly to the prem and either Kean or preferable somebody else, is able to get the best out of the players we have. Sadly I see a struggle this season. If Samba goes, then relegation. I dread Samba being injured, as he is at the moment. Rovers need another central defender. I stopped reading after the first part of your post PAFELL. The Sunday supplement is pathetic excuse of a program, the same program that announced our club is inwardly racist, has no Asian season ticket holders, and was run by Jack Hayward. Theyre a bunch of Allardyce cheerleaders that have had their noses put of our place, and if I may make one suggestion, dont watch that cr@p again, you can make up your own mind without help from them muppets. I need a brew......

Why on earth a non 'big club' fan would tune in to hear half an hour on how Arsenal 'deserve to win a trophy', and then half an hour on Roman Abramovichs spending policy is beyond me. But, Allardyce cheerleaders they aint, Patrick Collins and his ilk slagged him off whenever they could- didn't mean they wern't aware of the job he was doing on peanuts at Ewood.

roverandout Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 just a bunch of idiots sitting around a table talking rubbish, sipping orange juice
67splitscreen Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 1st half coming to an end, Petrovic sitting very deep just in front of the back four. Seem a fair bit of the ball, nothing to bring the roof down but! think he has 100% pass completion rate so far, spreads play well he also move into space for the returns after making short passes, all in all solid performance upto now.

alexanders Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Yep! 1-0 down, Petrovic subbed on 70min tactical. Good. No injury.

neophox Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 He started with the likes of Milos Krasic, Nemanja Vidic, Zoran Tosic against a strong Russia side and lost away 1-0. He didn't play the full game but played well and looks a giant, good passing and technique for his height, Serbia made 5 changes in the game.... Russia featured Anyukov, Arshavin, Pavluchenko, Kerzhakov....
neophox Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Maybe we could call him Petrovic the spider, he has so long legs...
Amo Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Petrovic set for Blackburn bow as new recruit vows to light up Ewood Park
Steve Moss Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Petrovic set for Blackburn bow as new recruit vows to light up Ewood Park I like his attitude. If he does well (with or without goals) this weekend, his name is going on my shirt.
Miker Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I have high hopes for this guy. I think he has all the necessary attributes to succeed for us, but whether or not he'll be able to adapt successfully to the Premier League is another story.
John Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Really like the look and from reading his attributes could be just what we need in the midfield. Looking forward to seeing him play.
Exiled_Rover Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Hopefully straight into the team on Saturday. He can't be worse than Dunn, Emerton or Pedersen surely.
Inta Beaver Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Roberts on twitter says he looks decent and the players are giving him a bit of stick for looking like Ralf Little.
John Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 The Scot said: "It's not only that we've just seen him, we've been watching him for a long, long time. I've seen him live on a number of occasions, our scouting staff have been out watching him. "He's a presence, he's an imposing figure but he can score goals, he can switch play, he can sit in and be a defensive player but he can also be released to go box to box. Kean expecting Petrovic impact
