[Archived] Radosav Petrovic

Recommended Posts

Decent 20 mins from Radosav last night, only negative was a needless booking (much like against Everton) this may be a feature of his game.

Before you all get carried away Jermaine Jones was booked 8 times in 15 starts.

I thought it was a very smart booking against Everton. He cynically pulled back the man on the ball (Arteta was it?) because Everton were about to hit us on the break with numbers.

Self-explanatory, isn't it?

Give players a chance to prove themselves, especially when joining a different league of football. Don't write them off after a handful of games.

No-one has. So what's the point?

Oh, 'ang on, it means don't have an opinion yet, especially if it doesn't fit in with mine.

Loads rides on this guy. Nzonzi hasn't started the season as well as he finished last season, and the only alternatives to him are the permanently injured Grella, Dunn or Pedersen out of position (both of whom really struggle at DM in my opinion - Dunny hasn't the engine and Pedersen is far too weak in the tackle), or Lowe (who I actually think is quite decent but it is a big ask for him to step up).

Only other option is to slot one of our defenders into midfield. Could Dann do this? Any of Givet/Samba/Nelsen would be fine for a CB partnership if fit and focussed.

Anyhow really really want Petrovic to make the step up. As others have said it always takes players a few games to get up to speed - even J Jones wasn't really perfomring till about five games in. So the time to judge the Serb is around October.

Phillip said he was in the same bracket as Anderson and Ribeiro. Rubbish

I really worry for Philip he is judging a player who has played 3 1st team EPL games with 2 players who have not featured for our 1st team how does that work out?. Anderson & Ribeiro have yet to play an EPL game for us that is like comparing Hitler to our armed forces 2 totally different people. Sometimes his comparisons just make me chuckle.

[pedantic]

and he's not allowed that opinion?

Like I said - there would be no calls for "give him a chance" - if Philip had said he was great.

So, I ask again, what does this oft used phrase actually mean? Well, it means don't have a negative opinion - or to be precise, it means don't have a negative opinion, if it doesn't tally with what I think.

[/pedantic].

Why don't you go back and read what I wrote?

After watching him in both the Everton and international games I think he needs a few games to get to the pace of the EPL unlike some people who are writing him off he looks to know where to play and hold his position, sadly his shooting does need to improve, but with practice that and his heading can improve.. JJ did get a few weeks to get into terms with the EPL.. This guy is only 8 years younger!!

Whilst he may not be as good as him, it took Bergkamp a good while to score his first goal, but then he subsequently became a legend at Arsenal. To label a player rubbish, a waste of money etc. after 1 and a half games if that is simply moronic. Let's give him a chance, as a majority are.

Hard to understand what your on about Phillip - you clearly called him an utter dud. What was the distinction you made between him Anderson, And Riberio?

I think it was a typo. He meant dude. Half of our new signings look like utter dudes. Yes thats almost certainly what was supposed to be typed.

Why do people still feed Philip? The guy thrives on his own self importance, stating his warped opinion as fact. All pre conceptions of him were confirmed on the Podcast he appeared on.

Philip, you need to learn that the reason people don't like you isn't because of your opinion, it's because you come across both verbally and in written as an absolute tosser.

I like him. Anyone who cares about Rovers as much as he does is OK by me.

I felt verbally he was very astute, clear and confident personally, the only conception of Philip I learned from the podcast was that he is a real Rovers fan, intelligent and extremely well spoken!

It's touch and go. I thought he came across as being up his own arse; a theory backed up by the tone of his posts. I couldn't really care less who he supports.

But despite that he's still only got the one account on here ;)

I thought you got in a strop and sulked off under your last username, why have you suddenly decided to come back now?
