Batman. Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 But despite that he's still only got the one account on here I thought you got in a strop and sulked off under your last username, why have you suddenly decided to come back now? Ask your mates.

trs Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I have watched both his performances so far and he was not the player I was hoping for! Early days yet though, and remember thinking the same Of Sherwood. Let's hope he improves as Sherwood did.
A cup of beans Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 some rovers fans write of players far too easily! even those players who get bought by the top sides, need time to settle and get used to the break-neck pace and physicality of the premier league. petrovic improved as the everton game went on. i expect him to be a top top player for us, but give him time!

He wasn't as bad as people were making out either (one or two mislaid passes aside which i'll put down to nerves...just remembered the sitter against Shef Weds too!). Anyway, I certainly didn't pick up on any major defensive mistakes which is the most important thing for someone in that position in his early days.
den Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Anyway, I certainly didn't pick up on any major defensive mistakes which is the most important thing for someone in that position in his early days. Not really. I could go on the park and not make any mistakes.
dubdubdub Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Not really. I could go on the park and not make any mistakes. On the swings and roundabout maybe.
Backroom Tom Posted September 11, 2011 Backroom Posted September 11, 2011 Philips assessment was in character and knee jerk but on todays evidence.......... Hopefully its just an adjustment period though
brian_gallagher85 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 This guy is bloody useless and to think so many fans slated Andrews for how he played. At least Keith looked like getting a goal or two a season. This waste of space offers nothing!
Backroom DE. Posted September 11, 2011 Backroom Posted September 11, 2011 Impossible to judge him at this point... especially playing in a team managed by Kean. He's got no recognisable formation or shape to play in, so I'm not surprised he looks lost. Most of our team do.
chris Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 That can;t be his best, he look really nervous, and so poor on the ball. Obviously going to play a lot with Dunns record of injuries
BRFC1995 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 First impressions........reserve player reminds me of zigic at brum
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 First match, he looks half the player that Andrews is!! So weak, needs to bulk up. He will get battered in this league unless he bulks up fast. Lets hope its just first game nerves. Hmmm!!
ptholt Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I spoke with him before the fulham game he seemed a very quiet, meek, intimidated guy, sadly his performances on the pitch can also be described with the same words. however you can also add poor passer, scared or unable to head and never jumps bringing him and Lowe on effectively ruined our midfield, who would have thought we would be wishing for Andrews to replace him....
allanncd Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 On today's evidence he looks useless. Bring back Keith! For a defensive midfielder he never tackles and always stands off then disappears. Passing was at best totally unimaginative and obvious. God help us with him and the crock Dunn. His ineptitude is not surprising as the only other club that wanted to sign him was a little outfit in Holland.
den Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I said after the Sheff Wed game that he looked poor - along with Goodwillie. Got plenty of -s's for that, but these guys are not premier League players.
rookie2009 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Might be a tad harsh but from what ive seen so far he looks out of his depth, only attempts to pass it sideways or backwards and couldnt even do that very well, didnt break up much fulham attacks and gave away stupid frees..the only slight positive was him proving useful at defending corners with his headers... Guess we just have to wait and see if he improves with time...
booth Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I said after the Sheff Wed game that he looked poor - along with Goodwillie. Got plenty of -s's for that, but these guys are not premier League players. Steve Keans tactics are making our best players look average, so I can't judge any of our new boys yet.

den Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Wow. Written off after two and half games. Guess that's another post that simply has a go at the poster again. Do you have any footballing opinions? You certainly have personal ones.

Exiled_Rover Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 He's definitely struggling with the pace of the league. Tough to say he's not good enough yet though.
RoyRover Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 This was the first time that I really got to see him play. I thought that there were times when players went by him too easily and he gave some sloppy passes. There were other times, when he kept the ball well and made some interceptions. This might sound stupid, but he looks like a player who is very much suited to international football; where the pace is slower, keeping the ball and playing simple passes are more important. I'm not writing him off. There are signs that he has talent, but there is also the need for rapid improvement.
Hughesy Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I think some of the criticism he is getting 2-3 games in, is abit unfair. He looked ok today (6/10). He won a few more headers this time around and didnt look too bad on the ball.....he just needs to start getting stuck in and stop being slow on the ball. He is one that will take time to get up to speed but he will be fine. Doesnt help that he is always playing with NZonzi too, who isnt exactly the best partner for him......we need Petrovic to be the defensive man on his own, we dont need two in the same midfield against teams like Fulham.
den Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 How is that not a footballing opinion? What is personal about that? It's another comment aimed at the poster and contains nothing about football. Sort yourself out.

Agree Hughesy, I think he's getting a lot of unfair stick on here. He's no Jermaine Jones, but then Jones had a lot more experience and came from a much higher standard of league than Petrovic. The lad is an international so he has the talent, he just needs time to adjust. It won't help that he's playing in a team that doesn't really know what they're meant to be doing. I imagine he's used to working within some kind of solid formation or structure.
