brfcs5359 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Replace Givet????????????????? Need a left back??? We need a left back however the need for a right back is far more urgent. Ollson is Ok. Selgado is the worst full back in the top two divisions and has cost numerous goals this season.n

brian_gallagher85 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 How did this guy become a professional footballer. Truly awful!
47er Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Titantic I once heard Michael Caine ask how long it takes an ocean liner to stop from full speed. The answer he gave was 26 miles (not many people know that!) so I think your analogy is very apt! (Not that I've ever seen Petrovic at full speed mind!)
chaddyrovers Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Even Dann was a stupid signing. We obviously needed a midfielder more than we needed a centre back. That £7.7 million should have been split between a proper defensive midfielder and a solid left back, meaning Givet could partner Samba. Dann wasn't a stupid signing. He was really good signing. Quality player. But I do understand that you are saying Kean didn't use the 20 million pounds very well as he could have done. We need a right back or specialist left back and Kean didn't sign anybody for these positions. We need another striker signing to be sign before the transfer window closed. Surely we could have get the Ajax El Hamdaoui on loan with the view to signing permanent in January.
philipl Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 OK guys admit it- I was right. Petrovic is a dud. I really wish those of you who piled in against me were 100% right but everyone who backed the transfers in the summer and last January are being made to look complete idiots by Steve Kean and Venky's. Suckers.

Bluefudge Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Just watching Football First. Is he a footballer ? Can we bring Andrews back ?

Suckers. Wow where to begin. The guy is an international player for Serbia and has played in a World Cup. He is 22 years old and has played SIX league games for Rovers under Steve Kean, in a system which does little to help him, his fault? I suppose the time to judge players is 6 league games now... IF we put this guy up for sale, I have seen him play a few times for Serbia and the talent is clearly there, JJ looked lost for the first 10 games last year!
Bluefudge Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 JJ was man of the match against WBA first game in.....
47er Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Wow where to begin. The guy is an international player for Serbia and will be playing in the World Cup next year. Not so. JJ had trouble coping with the pace of Premier League football for a while but at least he did something got a tackle in, committed a foul---anything. Petrovic does nothing---the whole game just passes him by as if he weren't there. And what about Formica and Rochina--going to set the league alight this season weren't they? Not one bit of Kean's managership works. We don't even play more attractive football! Its unattractive and we fail. Only one player Kean has signed (and retained) over 2 windows is a decent regular.

I think the point people are also making is 6 games and he has contributed to us being bottom, we need quality NOW. We can;t afford players that need a year to settle. Jones was reckless and a little rusty from having not played, but he had energy and looked a battler. Petrovic is unbelieveably slow, its not the system, its the league is too quick. There was a remark made durring the game "he looks clumsey" and it's because he is slow. From a 22 year old player who has played in the CL and will play in the world cup, I'm very surprised he is so slow. I guess Veron couldn't cope with the pace of the PL, maybe some players don't fit.
imy9 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 A lot of what you is not the fault of the player but the management. I firmly believe he is a quality player but can he speed up to the pl? It would be easier if he was gently brought into the first team...

spencey7 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Petrovic already looks ten times better than N'Zonzi.
Billy Castell Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Sounds like he's another of those youtube superstars. As someone who cannot go to games, I trust the consensus that he is rubbish, and nowhere near as good as he looked. Does he look like there might be something there if we had a proper manager and coaches, or is he a lost cause?
Majiball Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Who's the better player? Petrovic Or Our lad Keith?
daveoftherovers Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 So the guy had a bad game, playing in a poor team, in the wrong position for the wrong manager. He plays for Serbia and he isn't sh** Who do I blame? Easy, Kean! Look at the team selection and the formation to a play a team that was there for the taking???!!! It's a total joke, and I'm not going to join in getting on the back of a young international player who plays for our club, these things take time and under our manager, longer, we dropped lucky with JJ, end of. The comparisons with Julie? Come on FFS

He hasn't improved and he is currently no better than Andrews was.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 The lad obviously has something as there were a few decent teams sniffing around him. Granted he's hiding it well at the moment but he may need a season to settle. There is no comparison to Andrews as one is a young international who may develop into a good player and the other is a barely average, lower league journeyman. Always remember thinking that a young Patrick Anderson looked abysmal in his 12 months with us, yet he went on to play for Bayern and Barca.
den Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 The lad obviously has something as there were a few decent teams sniffing around him. Well if it's obvious, what is it?
Amo Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Petrovic could indeed be a complete dud, but with Kean in charge, we have a broken yardstick for our current crop of players. With a competent manager, who actually knew how to organise a side and play to its strengths, who knows?
Gav Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 You shouldn't be judging the lad at this stage, he's still getting used to the speed of the game over here. He may well turn out to be poor, lets face it we didn't break the bank for him in the grand scheme of things, but judge him next season when he's had time to adapt.
