  1. 1. What do you think of the advert? (Public Poll, people can see how you voted)

    • Loved It. More of the same please!
    • Mainly Positively. Fine for promoting us in India, but rather cringe-worthy over here
    • Don't care on way or the other
    • Mainly Negative. Regardless of what it does in India, I hate what it represents here!
    • Sheer and utter embarrassed. Everyone involved should be ashamed

Indeed I am. because, correct me if I'm wrong, they've not really done that much horrendously wrong yet.....

Jesus Christ mate; I think you need to lighten up and stop taking yourself so seriously. Give 'em some stick back you loser.

I bet you're great to be around. A proper man's man who's up for a laugh no matter what...

If the advert and the jokes bother you that much and you can't see the funny side in it, eff off over to old Trafford. "why should I? wahhhh! I've been here longer than them! Wahhh"

Or better still; create that daft AFC Blackburn team some simpletons have been going on about. Think you'll fit right in. :tu:

ha ha venkys/Kean not done anything horrendously wrong where do you want me to start you complete fool !

as for FCBlackburn being daft WTF would you know Rossendale dingle ???

From the top please?

Haha what does where I live have to do with anything?

Calm down a little. You're showing yourself up.

Ps. An answer would be nice though.

please don't say "sacking Big Sam" because let's face it; the timing was bad, but that's about it. I'd hardly call it a horrendous mistake. If we'd of been relegated, maybe. But we weren't.

And please try not to include weak insults in your answers.

Some people take things WAY to seriously. It's a light-hearted, humourous advert. It's not demeaning, it's not anti anything and it's not bad for the club. Take it for what it is and get a grip.

Exactly, thought it was quite good myself. I had to take a couple of days of ridicule off dingles but now it's all forgotten like today's chip paper. Once it's shown in Asia hopefully it will do the trick and nobody will be complaining then!

Ok. how many times have they lied. Ran down a secure stucture from top to bottom of the club when prior stating they wouldnt , appointing kean ,the loans you neeed to open your eyes rossendale can you not see the slope they've put us on

Pardon the pun

why has it taken them SO LONG to start marketing in India.

This is an interesting point. I remember before Venky's bought us having arguments with people (who incidentally are now vehemently anti-Venky's) that I couldn't see what an Indian company would get by buying us. They came up with all sorts of pie-in-the-sky figures based on the huge population of India why it would make us loads of money. It's only taken nearly a year to start this process and I look forward to the money starting to roll in.

On the advert, it's no more cringeworthy than those ocassional Christmas ones they do on the big screen other than it's factually incorrectly. David Dunn would never let anyone steal his food...

I find it funny that some of the most strident defenders of this ad are also amoungst the most skeptical of Venkeys and their ownership of the club.

Wonder why that is?

I think the difference is how venkys have done things with the club. The advert itself is a seperate issue and credit has to be given when it is due, no matter how some of us feel towards the owners. I do not like what venkys have done to the club. But if they are able to sort themselves out, learn from their mistakes etc and start doing things a lot lot better, then I would be willing to change my stance towards them.

It is up to venkys to win the fans over, not the fans to win venkys over. If venkys do right by the club and its supporters then so be it.

The advert I thought was ok. A bit of fun, no harm. The players seem to like doing it. If it brings money to either venkys or the club, lifts up the profile as well, so be it. But venkys need to understand that the best publicity for them, is what happens on the pitch. Having had this advet made, it could have a detrimentle effect if the team do badly. As things stand now, the advert may help football supporters in india to keep an eye on Rovers progress.

Let other clubs / tv take the mic. Let them envy the club. Rovers are one of 4 clubs who have won the premiership. Now they are featured in an advert that will be seen world wide - it is on tv, the internet. For a change this is good publicity. Now venkys need to build upon this by sorting the football side of things out. Why they have left it until now to do this advert is strange. Unless it has to do with the current hong kong matches and the new prem season starting in a few weeks.

Just watched the advert and I have to say it wasn't as bad as some have been telling me when they first saw it on Granada Reports the other day. As far as I am aware they won't be showing it on television over here as it's been made for the Indian audience, from what I've seen of adverts from that part of the world they tend to be very 'tongue-in-cheek'.

If it boosts our profile or the owners profile over there in a positive way then surely that is a good thing?

Business acumen?

Why do people get offended? To these players money is their absolute God so crossing themselves and prostituting themselves in comic fashion to help provide the necessary funding to keep em in mannerv to which they are accustomed to is both apt and necessary.

And you state these as horrendous mistakes??

Tell you what. If we finish this season lower than the last. I'll agree with you.

But at this moment in time; to me, you're just sounding like a drama queen.

Are there any Venky's branches in this country? And are the shops franchises like say, Subway? This has nowt to do with the advert, that has reminded me that I've not had a post-pub fried chicken and chips for years. Anyway, even if the Rao family have been pretty bad owners, I'd give their chicken a go.

  • Moderation Lead

The advert is light hearted at best, but shockingly enough the media are using it to ridicule Rovers, as if they loved us anyway? It's an advert being shown across India to promote Venky's and BRFC, which was one of Venky's intentions initially was it not?

I for one, couldn't care less about this advert, it has little relevance to what happens on the pitch!

True to form I see.

So you know for a fact we'd have done better under anyone but Kean?

Anyway, none of your points you made; (however you dress them up) can be seen as horrendous mistakes. (yet)

The club is still in the premier league, you don't know what will happen next season.

What would your thoughts be if we did do well next season?

"it's not goin to happen Rossendale!! What planet are you on??I'm not answering a direct question! Open your eyes!"

I hear the stage door opening

Pretty much what I thought.

I had no issue with it at all, decent in terms of commercial value and face, strip recognition.

Everyone wins except for extremely sensitive catholics and teenage girls.

Considering they manage to ###### off pretty much everyone with most other decisions - this is a roaring success.

It's an advert.

Nice to see two players nicking Dunny's portions of saturated fat. They should have left a stick of celery on his plate.
