slough_rover Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Yes, coming from the dizzy heights of Dundee Utd he will be asking for £90k a week. You're right. Did I insinuate he would be asking for 90k. He wouldnt even be worth 30k per week. So unless you have proof that we cant afford to pay him a basic wage pls F off.

keaney23 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14344125.stm As you can read the hold up was with Dundee United and not Blackburn Rovers

Haha, calm down No you were starting a little war because I said that it's crap that we can't seal the deal for a SPL striker who won't be on the highest wages. Which it is if true, which I clearly stated, so run along and warm your armchair for the season ahead.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I keep seeing the quote saying about how he's a 20 goal a season striker......yet he's never scored 20 goals in a season before.
keaney23 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Hes progressively getting better and better _________APPS____GOALS_______________ 2005–06.........10..... 1.................. 2006–07.........17..... 0.................. 2007–08......... 2..... 0.................. 2008–09.........18..... 6.................. 2009–10.........40..... 13................. 2010–11.........43..... 18................. 2011–1...........3..... 1.................. Maybe not 20 goals a season like being documented but hes growth and development is evident in goals and you have to take in consideration the team he plays for.
booth Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I keep seeing the quote saying about how he's a 20 goal a season striker......yet he's never scored 20 goals in a season before. It's his manager at DUFC that's said he's a 20 goal a season Premier League striker. Sell, sell, sell, and all that.
roversfanben Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Sky Sports News Blackburn agree fee with Dundee Utd for striker David Goodwillie.

His team won the domestic cup and they finished 4th in the league so what....the Man City of the SPL?
keaney23 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 His team won the domestic cup and they finished 4th in the league so what....the Man City of the SPL? Be a little more realistic , Dundee United the Man city of the SPL. Yeah if you like...
donnermeat Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Be a little more realistic , Dundee United the Man city of the SPL. Yeah if you like... Nothing to do with money. (More or less) same position in the league, league positions follow the same trajectory, obviously they aren't as good as Man City but then again the opposition isn't as good either. My point is all about equivalents I thought that would have been pretty obvious though.
booth Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Sky Sports News Blackburn agree fee with Dundee Utd for striker David Goodwillie. First time since Allardyce left that we've been on the front page of the Sky Sports website
Backroom Tom Posted July 31, 2011 Backroom Posted July 31, 2011 SSN, fee agreed for Goodwillie Didnt they say this on Friday though?
rebelmswar Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I feel that he will be a very very good striker in the future he is already very solid. Think he is one who could do well in the Premier League. His get to the ball at all costs attitude ia superb.
booth Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Didnt they say this on Friday though? Not with an actual quote from the Utd manager saying they have accepted a bid.
roversfanben Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 liammcleod79 Liam McLeod We're hearing that #Rangers have made a FOURTH bid for #DavidGoodwillie who is talking to #BlackburnRovers...keeping up??
vintageadidas Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 POTENTIALLY a very good player. He certainly has ability and i am a firm beliver that with better players around him, better pitches and his determination to succeed he could well score 12-15 league goals a season. I am all for this signing.
niggit Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Didnt they say this on Friday though? They did, but then sky used the normal "sky sources"
roversfanben Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 liammcleod79 Liam McLeod #Rangers' latest bid for Goodwillie again falls short of what #DundeeUnited want for the player
Backroom Tom Posted July 31, 2011 Backroom Posted July 31, 2011 I wish rangers would stop messing around, either offer the amount required or bugger off now
philipl Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 I wish rangers would stop messing around, either offer the amount required or bugger off now I think we need to make a signing and what Rangers do is their problem if we have got this guy in the bag.
Ripleys love child Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Sky sports reporter said deal could be completed by the time dundee utds match is finished, just kicked off
niggit Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I heard that, sounds like Goodwillie is already at Rovers talking or medical.
booth Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Sky sports reporter said deal could be completed by the time dundee utds match is finished, just kicked off He said it was their manager Houston who said that to him before the game.
