Why has he stopped in Pune in that case? Surely signing the player is more important?

Homework should already have been completed on the player, we shouldn't wait until he's had his medical to have a 15 minute chat with him to decide if he really is a bad boy or not.

So much buzzing around about this transfer at the moment and so little of it makes any sense.

It's crazy, but let's wait and see what tomorrow brings.

Lets look back to the Trust record?

17.5 million for Santa cruz - 6 million spent on Kalinic - 11.5 million gone missing?

Damien Duff - 17 million - where did that go?

David Dunn?- 5.5 million - must of spent that on new planes.

The same summer that we sold Duff we signed Emerton, Amoruso, Reid and Ferguson. All highly rated players who were wanted by other Premiership teams at the time. The fact they ended up at us would have been partially down to big contracts been given to them I'm sure.

As I said earlier, and I am now 99% confident that this info is correct. He will be joining Rovers, he is not playing us, and he will not be joining Rangers.

He only came down today to be shown around the club, why this couldn't wait until he met Steve Kean, I have no idea. But the player himself is not the problem.

This, coupled with the press, have blown this out of all proportions. I will admit, when I said he was having a medical, I was just going off a Tweet from a Scottish reporter, rather than waiting for confirmation from my source who has this far been 100% correct regarding Goodwillie. Remember, I told you on Saturday that he wouldn't sign until Tuesday or Wednesday, and after speaking to my source he has once again confirmed this. He said the medical was NEVER due to take place today, and it's simply a case of the idiotic press once again getting ahead of themselves. He has assured me that he will be back at Rovers tomorrow, and he will complete his medical and be a Rovers player by the end of the day (tomorrow)

I think it makes perfect sense for Kean to meet Goodwillie before signing him-few clicks on Google and the trouble he has gotten himself into-house arrest by his current manager, should enforce that.

If he signs, good if not then we move on.

When Dalglish signed Shearer, before he even made an offer, he knew his background, attitude, what his diet was and his fitness levels, how do I know this? well ask Tony Parkes!!

This summer when he signed Henderson, he came back from his holidays to conclude the deal!!

Are we getting the message now, a good manager does his bloody homework and sells the club to the player, makes him feel wanted, not second place to pussyfooting around Mrs D or having the only striker we have driving around in flash boys cars!!

My message to both Venkys and Kean is this, we supporters of Rovers dont give a damn about Venkeys or their chicken, its pre season, a crucial time in preparation, we want our football team to be able to compete, now get Keans arse on a plane now and get him back where he should be or bring in a proper manager who has the balls to tell you 'No, I am running a football club, this must come first'

I understand what you are getting at but...

Shearer was a record transfer value and Henderson is a silly amount of money for potential.

In comparison Goodwillie is small change and will not make or break reputations.

And neither will Henderson, the point being that if you went for a job, there were two jobs on offer and one went overboard to make you welcome and get you to work for them (assuming the money was right) which would you choose?

Indeed a few years ago I was offered a job and travelled 30 miles for a meeting with the MD, he rang and asked if I could go another time!!

Never went back, that was disrespectful.

Are you sure about that?

In the context of this summer, this guy is our only forward of note and big money whom we will be desperately dependent on to retain our Premier League place.

But what if the arrangements were for a medical tomorrow and the press have got the wrong end of the stick...again.

Kelbo- I agree with you, however because of our transfer policy changing mid- pre season we have have been playing catch up- (fault of the owners), based on our more reliable sources thus far:

1. Steve Kean is now in control of which players we sign- massive positive IMO (Kamy)

2. We have a structure in place at Ewood now capable of making decisions with Hunt playing the role of Chief Executive- who people are saying is doing an excellent job thus far- (Kamy)

3. Goodwillie was never supposed to have his medical today it was planned for tomorrow so rather than Venkys being idiots/Kean being an idiot etc, it was pre planned (Rover Ben).

4. Kean has gone to Pune and told the owners what he wants (Kamy)

There does seem to be some light at the end of the tunnel, shame so much destruction had to happen.

I think any reasonable person viewing a purchase of a young lad for less than £3m will appreciate the element of chance.

You may not be one of those people

I think, with respect, medical or no medical, Kean as manager should have been there to make the lad feel welcome and wanted, overnight anything could happen and if McCoist (who is busting a gut to sign him) decided to bang on his door and say 'Hey' we really want you at Rangers, who knows what can happen, for a couple of hundred quid Kean could have met him, taken him out for a meal, overnight stay at the Dunkenhalgh and medical tomorrow!!

Perhaps he was having a 'tour' of the club/grounds today, with the intention of having his medical but Rovers have decided to wait for Kean to come back so they can complete the signing in a single day.

What was wrong with today? No need por him to be around.

I hope you aren't insinuating that Kean should whore himself out.

A positive that the manager has a say in who we buy? Is this not just the normal course of things at most football clubs?

So you are saying it isn't a positive when compared to the start of the window?

At least say it's good but it's about time.

This is a positive step at the very least.

@TomboTheGreat Goodwillie camp checking on all options. Don't blame them. If he was sure who he wanted to join he would have by now

Rangers are close to matching Blackburn's fee that was agreed for Dundee United's David Goodwillie #RFC #

Kudos to Rangers, after 6 bids they are now getting getting close to matching ours. Why don't they just give up?
