@TomboTheGreat Goodwillie camp checking on all options. Don't blame them. If he was sure who he wanted to join he would have by now

@TomboTheGreat Goodwillie camp still looking at all options. Quite rightly. Rovers should have done this quickly. But haven't. #whatsnew?

And yet he's due for a medical tomorrow and Dundee are confident the transfer to BRFC will happen.

Is Nicko still sulking? can no-one find the dummy he threw from his pram?

Itkagent1962 ...

As I said early Goodwillie not having his intended medical has got #RFC a 2nd chance. Question is. Will they meet #brfc bid. Cont

Itkagent1962 ...

Early signs are yes. This however will most likely prevent other targets from arriving as #RFC will be paying almost double for Goodwillie

Whoa, you seemed happy enough with Nicko here - and that post of Nicko's is quite interesting!

Got to say this is the best window for some time. Where it all ends up, nobody knows. But there are some goings on.

Just as an update - and for a check list you can cut out and keep...I think this is the check list that is being filled.

STRIKER - a massive one if possible...probably a record fee...Vucinic top of that lost until he goes elsewhere...some alternatives being looked into...but a lot of elite clubs want this calibre of target.

YOUNG STRIKER - a few 'emerging' players being studied...after all you need more than one class attacker.

LEFT WINGER - definitely on the wish list...got a name but [see above] there are others after him.

CENTRE HALF - Miranda still a possible...if not it would be a big-money deal and the signs are that the big dough is being saved for the main striker.

MIDFIELD - still no second confirmation on the Prem player I like...starting to think he is one of several being researched right now...we shall see...there could yet be TWO midfielders depending on exits.

RIGHT BACK - a surprise to me, but there is a target...and it will hopefully be out in the morning.

If that's not enough for you, then I don't know what is.

I think there will be SIX in at least and I will predict here and now that around £45 to £50 million will be spent.

Quite happy to stick my neck out on that after the vibes picked up over the past 48 hours.

Jeez Nicko.....what are the whingers going to moan about now!

No Way did they beat me to it!

I did find his reports extremely valuable but his information post take-over has been less than reliable.

And after his deleted post he appears less than rational.

Don't get me wrong..I'd like him back, he certainly livens up the mb :P

Kelbo- I agree with you, however because of our transfer policy changing mid- pre season we have have been playing catch up- (fault of the owners), based on our more reliable sources thus far:

1. Steve Kean is now in control of which players we sign- massive positive IMO (Kamy)

2. We have a structure in place at Ewood now capable of making decisions with Hunt playing the role of Chief Executive- who people are saying is doing an excellent job thus far- (Kamy)

3. Goodwillie was never supposed to have his medical today it was planned for tomorrow so rather than Venkys being idiots/Kean being an idiot etc, it was pre planned (Rover Ben).

4. Kean has gone to Pune and told the owners what he wants (Kamy)

There does seem to be some light at the end of the tunnel, shame so much destruction had to happen.

Cast your mind back to Rovers under the Trust, JW and Sam and recognise how lunatic all this sounds.

My goodness we are in one hell of a mess for a Venky apologist like you being reduced to scraping the underside of the bucket like that for good news.

With him going back up to Scotland I think the chances of signing him are fading. Surely if he was going to have a medical here tomorrow it would have been better to stay at a hotel in the area overnight, get the medical done in the morning and the deal signed?

I know Dundee United have said they want him back for training in the morning but if a deal is supposedly so close why would you put a player through training? If the player gets injured that could mean a deal ends up being called off.

I think it's more likely Rangers are getting close to agreeing a fee with Dundee United, if they agree a fee tonight or tomorrow he won't have to travel far to get the medical done and a deal signed.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens tomorrow...

You've got to love this messageboard...smacks of bi-polar sometimes.

The sky's falling in...I knew it would, damn it...oops,no it hasn't there it is again..what a pretty sky. No!!!! It's falling again..

rewind and repeat.....

My understanding, from one of the new ITK's who's posted is that the medical was never happening today in the first place.

Maybe we all need to relax just a little bit?

ITK?

From Rangers website:

Goodwillie was due to meet Ewood Park boss Steve Kean today but this did not materialise as the Premiership side have just returned from a pre-season trip to Hong Kong.

The Scotland star will now train with his Tannadice teammates tomorrow but McCoist insists he still wants to sign the Scotland star despite having several bids already rejected for the player.

The posters who are so aghast that it might not be happening didn't want him in the first place.

Go figure

I'm struggling to see where he fits in with the manager's tactics is more my stance. If our 'coach' wants him then fair enough I will give the lad a chance.

The whole situation just sounds odd to me, with Rangers still interested we will have to wait and see if we end up paying the price for possibly dithering.

If Rovers miss out in Goodwille because Kean decided to go to Pune then that is extremely poor.

At the moment there is nothing to suggest that this is happening, but McCoist's latest comments suggest that Kean not being in the country today and tomorrow has given Rangers a window of opportunity to hijack this deal.

1. I am not a Venky's apologist- they have made some awful mistakes but... they are still our owners and I have been hoping that things change.

2. I make decisions on what is happening, as opposed to what you have been doing which is "I hate Venkys, now how do I twist and manipulate everything to make them sound worse than what they are" Examples? "swastikagate", "bodylanguagegate", "allindianbusinesseshatevenkygate", I could go on mate...

3. By the sounds of it they are making positive changes off the pitch, do you want them to fail that much?

1. Do you know when he is due back?

2. What have we failed on? As far as i can see we have targets and have made bids for them. You ever thought they might of left it late to drive the prices down?

Sorry that they are investing in us, and investing in young and upcoming players. Suppose you would be happy with the Trust back?

You are prefectly entitled to express your opinions callumrovers, just as those of us who don't particularly care for what Venky's have done thus far are entitled to express an opinion. I don't speak for others but I, for one, would glady return to the Trust instead of this bunch in Pune. I know that it's not possible, I know that we are stuck with these owners. However, that doesn't mean I have to support them unconditionally. When they achieve what the Trust did, ten years of continuous top flight football, I will gladly hold my hands up and say I was wrong and they have been fantastic. Until that point I will continue to express my reservations about their management of the club.

I would imagine the player is himself torn - probably turned up at Rovers today thinking he was heading south to sign only for the deal to be delayed and Rangers meanwhile come in again with a higher offer.

Put yourself in his position - Goodwillie or won't he ?
