roversfanben Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 A Ranger's fan (from another forum) claims that United have accepted Rangers latest bid. I smell BS. Rangers have launched a £2.4m bid up front with 500k add ons for David Goodwillie.

Nelsta Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Ahh well, according to Transfer chat thread Goodwillie is training with dundee utd tomorrow and won't be comming for a medical till weds. I fully expect him to go to rangers if that's true.
Scott18 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 If it's true, we'll see if he has bee dicking Rovers around! If what Roversfanben says is true then surely it would be our fault that we haven't got him, with Kean taking a needless trip India when we could have got the deal done today.
Stuart Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Trouble is, who are our targets IF this one falls through? Although DG is a young talent, we have lowered our sights significantly in recent times. Where do we go from here?
roversfanben Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I still don't believe it. This guy is new to Twitter, yet he knows stuff that no other people on Twitter know? I am off to bed. Whatever happens, happens. But my source is still adamant he is coming to us, so until he is proven wrong I have faith that he will.
donnermeat Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 If the medical is due tomorrow then why is he back in Scotland, surely he would have opted to stay in a hotel overnight. Was just about to say something along these lines, it makes no sense in my eyes. Either that or he hasn't been here at all today.
Backroom Tom Posted August 1, 2011 Backroom Posted August 1, 2011 So Rangers constantly bid below what we do and then decide they will offer more upfront?
Josh Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Thankfully I won't be home until late tomorrow because I have to walk from Pleasington Cemetery to Darwen, hopefully more accurate news will be out by then
roversfanben Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 So Rangers constantly bid below what we do and then decide they will offer more upfront? Exactly, it's a load of ######. The guy writing this ###### is trying to wind up Rangers fans. He is a Motherwell fan and claims to work for the Herald, but no one there knows him.
dubdubdub Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Why would he bother coming down today if he didn't want to sign? We messed him about by not having our manager in the country to talk to him. Why would he come down knowing the manager wasn't here? That he wouldn't be able to sign? Bit daft of him if you ask me. Messing us about. See if you infer stupidity on one party...why can't it be on the other foot? Why does there have to be stupidity involved in the first place? I'm sure Superknob was well aware of what was going on. It makes sense for him to have known...then again nobody talks sense round here.
Pete1981 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 ScottBurns75 Scott Burns David Goodwillie to travel to Blackburn and have his medical tomorrow after phone talks with Stevie Kean today. That John Harris guy on Twitter has just wrote JohnHarris70 john harris Goodwillie set to have his medical at BBR tomorrow as United would rather sell him to a team outside the SPL. Who's on Rangers radar now?
niggit Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 David Goodwillie to travel to Blackburn and have his medical tomorrow after phone talks with Stevie Kean today. EDIT - well done pete lol
Josh Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Hopefully that's the end of that, time to watch some World's Craziest Fools
Tooogs Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 ScottBurns75 Scott Burns Rangers offered to pay £2.1 million in a transfer fee but wanted to stagger payment over the next three to four years. Refused by United. ScottBurns75 Scott Burns @ @wilkie1984 Mix up today over their handling of it. Stevie Kean had to speak to Goodwillie to get the deal pushed towards the line ScottBurns75 Scott Burns @ @Scottcb78 That was on the STV news, but he is definitely travelling to Blackburn tomorrow.
SergioPeter89 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Stupid that I have to wait to get my Goodwillie shirt, since Rovers still have not got a new sponsor..
rogerjonesgloves Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Why would he come down knowing the manager wasn't here? That he wouldn't be able to sign? Bit daft of him if you ask me. Messing us about. alexanders Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Hopefully that's the end of that, time to watch some World's Craziest Fools come dine with me - the show
FourLaneBlue Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 What happened to all Venky's ambitions and show? This board has gone from arguing over the possibility of Ronaldinho joining to the will-ie wont-ie Goodwillie saga. Hard to believe it was just over a month ago that our favourite Mirror journalist was bigging up Rovers spending 50million this window... Oh...and does this mean that we are going to have to, to paraphrase a former Scottish manager of ours. "wee with the Goodwillie we (might) have got"...1
robbojohnno Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Fantastic signing, just hope it goes through now.
dubdubdub Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Is that the name he's going to have on his shirt. Brave man who buys one. They'll sell like hot cakes. Thought it could be a nice replacement for Phil Jones' old song as well!
Josh Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 This John Harris bloke is possibly the worst "journalist" I've come across "Goodwillie set to have his medical at BBR tomorrow as United would rather sell him to a team outside the SPL. Who's on Rangers radar now?" "@engrfc Clause in his contract means United decide where he goes." Followed up by "I still think David Goodwillie will be a Rangers player."
booth Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Bloody hell what a complicated affair to sign a player with only one rival for his signature who can't afford him
