Dundee United accept the bid from Rangers in the region of £3m for striker David Goodwillie.

Cryer saying the opposite in the LT. But what an immense cock-up if The Daily Record are correct.

"Wasted Blackburn trip for raging star."

Lol. Still discussing this "Rangers bid"

You should've just listened to me when I told you he is coming back for his medical today. I expect the deal to be complete by 3-4pm today. If it happens, I know my source is 100% reliable, as he told me from day one (which you will see if you check back through this thread) that he will sign on Tuesday/Wednesday.

midday.

It'll be closer to 1pm. The medical should be completed by 3-4pm and all the paperwork signed and sorted. Whether they will announce the signing today or not, I am unsure, but he will (unofficialy at least) become a Rovers player by the end of the day.

"RANGERS were last night told to " get lost " as they tried desperately to land David Goodwillie despite the striker agreeing to sign for Blackburn in a £2.8m deal.

Rangers, who had a succession of bids rejected by Dundee Utd but refused to take no for an answer, tabled a last gasp offer for David Goodwillie last night which was again rejected.

And as the 22 year old prepared to travel south for the second time in 24 hours to finalise his transfer to Blackburn today Rangers were advised to give up as they had no chance of landing their priority target.

A United source revealed the club had reached the end of their tether with the SPL Champions consistently making slightly increased offers insisting everything had been agreed with Blackburn and could not be changed.

Goodwillie's move to Blackburn had been put on temporarily hold yesterday until he could meet India bound manager Steve Kean in person but after being contacted by manager Steve Kean by phone he agreed to make a return journey for a medical and agree personal terms.

Rangers had upped their package deal for David Goodwillie to £2.1m with further add-ons

Rangers had upped their package deal for Goodwillie to £2.1m with further add-ons which would have almost equalled Blackburn's offer but it's thought the SPL champions wanted to schedule the purchase payments over three years which is unacceptable to United.

Manager Ally McCoist would also have found find it difficult to match the players' personal terms with the Premierhsip outfit offering a four year £20,000 a week plus bonuses deal to secure the signature of the 22 year old"

but what do Rangers expect?

Where's that from roversfanben?

Honestly, I don't know. I c/p'd it from a Ranger's fan forum, which btw is utterly ridiculous. We have 42 pages in this Goodwillie thread, their Goodwillie thread has just reached the 471st page!

Hope he's prepared for the weight of our expectation which is going to be on his shoulders!

I dont see what weight he would carry on his shoulders, I and many other fans had never heard of him, yes he is going to be expected to score a few goals but he is still a young lad who has to adapt to the prem.

He can really relate to Torres :)

I'm expecting a bigger signing upfront, as I think we will bid for a few at the very least.

Hopefully he will have to fight hard for his place.
