newfan Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 There are some injuries you can be sure will heal, and an injury like that won't stop a transfer from going through. Like for instance a single, clean leg break with no muscle, ligament, tendon, nerve or major blood vessel damage, in an otherwise healthy person, will heal and be as good as new. Things like knee/hip (Or any joint really) problems are tricky though, to take one example. thank you

Mattyh1983 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 is Benjani still in the picture no news of new contract yet..?? a medical i would think would mainly consist of jogging and sprinting either in the inside grass pitches or on the gym treadmill and the recovery time from that. heart rate monitoring (ECG), medical record checks, blood tests etc i suppose it would more stringent when big money is at stake, but i would imagine that the medical team at Brockhall will have it all under control and that we will have some good news later.
roversfanben Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Goodwillie has now arrived. He'll have a brief meeting with Kean then he'll undergo his medical. My source said last night that the medical would begin at 1 (as I posted last night) how accurate was he? Lol.

Which makes me think it was scheduled for today at 1 and he only had a tour looking at the facilities yesterday.
briansol Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 From what Roberts has said, Junior could also play as a striker if in a pinch. I think Junior's best position probably is a free striker role much like he played vs Wolves where he completly tore them apart. Then he can drop of to collect the ball and run at defenders which makes him so exiting. Judged by the last games where we picked up points, it's pretty likely that the 4-5-1/4-3-3 is going to be used. Still I agree with other posters that you need other option than just Roberts and Goodwillie to lead the line. Someone in the mould of Santa Cruz in his first season.
roversfanben Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Which makes me think it was scheduled for today at 1 and he only had a tour looking at the facilities yesterday. Just as I told you all last night =) I now know this source can be believed, he had this one down to the letter from day 1.
roverandout Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 a quality striker is vital otherwise we are certain for another relegation battle.
LeChuck Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 A quote from Scotland manager Levein at the bottom of this article, speaking as if it's a done deal.
roverandout Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 ally mcoist was speaking at the airport on sky this morning, saying that rangers were still ongoing in their talks with dundee utd.
Nic Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I just want to see him holding up the B&W halves in tomorrow's LT. Good prospect but apparently very cocky and bit of a scrapper. Keep your daughters locked up!
rebelmswar Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 ally mcoist was speaking at the airport on sky this morning, saying that rangers were still ongoing in their talks with dundee utd. They can talk all they like The Terrors are no longer listening.
gary1989 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 @BBCchrismclaug Chris McLaughlin Ally McCoist says #rangers have made another bid for goodwiilie. Says it matches #Blackburn offer.
joey_big_nose Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 It's frightening LeC. Imagine if this AN other gets injured, or when he doesn't play [because none of them play anywhere near a full season] what we're left with - Goodwillie, Roberts and Benjani! To be fair is that any worse than what we have had for the last four or five seasons? We haven't had more than one good striker at the club at a time since well, um, Cole and Jansen?. Goodwillie seems a fair swap in and out for Kalinic, so to improve on our striker options compared to last season we just need to sign someone better than RSC - that shouldn't be hard...
imy9 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 @BBCchrismclaug Chris McLaughlin Ally McCoist says #rangers have made another bid for goodwiilie. Says it matches #Blackburn offer. It may match our offer BUT, Rangers want to pay over three years whereas our offer is upfront (apparently)
roversfanben Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 No, they've now matched our bid, like for like. A case of too little, too late for them. They've only done this to appease the fans, they know he is going to sign for us, so they are trying to save face with Rangers fans by matching our bid, knowing full well that they won't have to pay for him.
philipl Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 I doubt our offer is 100% cash is up front. Just hoping the late late Rangers offer is simply a PR exercise for the benefit of the 'Gers supporters.
Bobby G Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Unless they are receiving encouragement from the player or his agent, I dont see what they are trying to do.
Mark Atkins' Bald Patch Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 No, they've now matched our bid, like for like. A case of too little, too late for them. They've only done this to appease the fans, they know he is going to sign for us, so they are trying to save face with Rangers fans by matching our bid, knowing full well that they won't have to pay for him. Surely this allows them to talk to the player? Which, if quite a lot of reports are to be believed, would mean he'd likely choose Rangers over us. This message board should carry a health warning
sjsbrfc Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 @BBCchrismclaug Chris McLaughlin Ally McCoist says #rangers have made another bid for goodwiilie. Says it matches #Blackburn offer. I think Rangers are now just trying to save face. If they were that serious then why didn't they make this bid earlier?
arab Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Rangers have to more to match tho anyway. We don't want to sell to them, and any resale value would be diminished by him being in the SPL rather than the Premiership! Add to the fact that the hun can't afford to pay the £2m upfront rules them out anyway - all these 'negotiations' are just Rangers trying to bully United into accepting their weaker offer.
roversfanben Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I think Rangers are now just trying to save face. If they were that serious then why didn't they make this bid earlier? Does nobody read my posts? Lol. Everyone just repeats what I have already said.
rebelmswar Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Does nobody read my posts? Lol. Everyone just repeats what I have already said. Do you have a press secretary we can pass our posts through?
sjsbrfc Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Does nobody read my posts? Lol. Everyone just repeats what I have already said. Of course Its just that great minds think alike
