LeftWinger Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 This reminds me horribly of when Dunn joined us rather than go to Bolton. Didn't Dunn do everything he could to delay signing for Bolton until Rovers came in for him?

roversfanben Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Do you have a press secretary we can pass our posts through? Lol, yes, she can be found on Twitter @ roversfanbensmum I haven't asked him about other transfers, this one has done my head in so much that I am retiring from the "my source said" business, lol.
Henwah Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 This reminds me horribly of when Dunn joined us rather than go to Bolton. Didn't Dunn do everything he could to delay signing for Bolton until Rovers came in for him? He even arranged for Big Sam to be on holiday in India on the day of the medical!
heysham rover Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 He did, but not seen anything to suggest Goodwillie has stalled anything at all.
Kamy100 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Lol, yes, she can be found on Twitter @ roversfanbensmum I haven't asked him about other transfers, this one has done my head in so much that I am retiring from the "my source said" business, lol. Well done Ben, you have been bang on RE this transfer. These kinda things have a habit of doing your head in but worth it when you get accurate information! Oh and don't reveal your source to anyone, Venky's have become a touch paranoid about information leaking out so him/her getting identified could have serious consequences for them if they work for Rovers.
Lathund Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Surely this allows them to talk to the player? Unless the bids met some sort of release clause (Heard nothing to indicate this is the case), they don't have to accept it. As one poster said a few posts above mine, and like I've seen it reported in the last few days, Dundee United would want a bid higher than what we've offered to accept. From their pov it's much better to sell to us than to Rangers.
67splitscreen Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 How true it was I don't know but did DU's chairman the other day not say, he either goes to Rovers or stays here. Think that was telling Rangers to do one, probably for trying to get him on the ridiculous cheap opening bids, all parties have to show some respect, Rangers clearly did not.

Scott18 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 JasonRoberts30 Another Fantastic Day, on our way to Mumbai now...Great reaction to the Players and BRFC here in Pune! Jason Roberts is still out in India. Are the ITK's definitely sure Kean met Goodwillie today?
booth Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Goodwillie is having his medical now isn't he? All signs point to him wanting to sign for Rovers. I can't see him coming all the way back again for nothing.

I was just going to ask the same question as I have not been near Ewood today or spoke with any of my sources due to doing an interview with Mick Rathbone, But the info which I have followed on here said Goodwillie spoke with Kean today but if the players are still there, surely Kean is with them?

I thought pre-season was about putting in the hard yards. :S

None of the happy snaps have Kean in them.
tonyoz Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 None of the happy snaps have Kean in them. Maybe he took the photos?
Amo Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Get him signed and then turn our attention to a main striker. Hopefully, with the other deals tied up, our business won't be half-bad.
67splitscreen Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Purely a guess but is possible Kean left and arrived in this morning, after the alleged phone call yesterday. The three nomads maybe have had some PR work to be done, poor I agree those tread mills need some miles, don't suppose they have then in the 5* in India.
rebelmswar Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I'll probably get slagged for this, but shouldn't he be training now? In the UK? I thought pre-season was about putting in the hard yards. :S I cant see why anyone in their right mind would -1 that. It makes perfect sense to me, unless he is in peak fitness right now.
American Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I cant see why anyone in their right mind would -1 that. It makes perfect sense to me, unless he is in peak fitness right now. I didn't -1 it, but part of pre-season nowadays is about doing PR for the club and "selling shirts" (even though we have no shirts on sale). Plenty of Utd and Real players doing appearances, etc during their tours of the US.

Plenty of Utd and Real players doing appearances, etc during their tours of the US. I get that but they are coupled with preseason games no? Sure its a great PR exercise but, unless I am very much mistaken, he is our number one striker right now. Who would have thunk it?
davulsukur Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 MCoist-We've matched the Blackburn bid. I guess its time to see how good keano is at sweet talking a player into signing for Rovers.
BRFC_Pilkz Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 BBC: Rangers claim to have matched Blackburn bid for David Goodwillie, but Dundee United sources suggest the Scottish champions' offer still falls short.
Backroom Tom Posted August 2, 2011 Backroom Posted August 2, 2011 I guess its time to see how good keano is at sweet talking a player into signing for Rovers. You know the score, no praise if he gets him to sign, massive criticism if not.
gary1989 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Itkagent1962... Good to read that the penny has finally dropped with #rfc and their transfer policys. Bid accepted for DG.
