roversfanben Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Dundee United have rejected TWO further bids from Rangers today for David Goodwillie. bbcjimspence jim spence Rangers latest bid for Goodwillie close to Blackburn offer but not quite as good. Utd reject it
philipl Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 Man, I am sick of this ######. He HAS agreed to join us, he is going back to Scotland because that is where he lives! I can not wait for this to be completed. Anything in writing on him joining us? Strikes me that if Dundee United have identical bids, they will now start an auction between the bidders if they can. CryerRovers Andrew Cryer It is only rumours he is heading back to Scotland, strong ones though. Hopefully medical passed and signing for Rovers a formality.....
booth Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 If he is not prepared to sign after medical, he wants f#cking off, what a joke we are, this should have been sorted Monday morning. If this deal falls through i am finished giving venky and kean a chance. Actions speak loader than words. To be fair to the player he has been down here twice in two days. There's something very strange about this, or the latest tweets are rubbish.
heysham rover Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 What part of the bidding process are Rangers struggling with, could someone exlain to them you have to either match or offer above what a rival club is bidding.
Wilko Rover Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Man, I am sick of this ######. He HAS agreed to join us, he is going back to Scotland because that is where he lives! I can not wait for this to be completed. He has agreed? But has he signed?!
American Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Anything in writing on him joining us? Strikes me that if Dundee United have identical bids, they will now start an auction between the bidders if they can. Interesting, as Dundee United have said they've accepted our bid, which I would assume would be in writing. If they make us now pay more, it would be against the relative professionalism the club has been showing so far.

I can not wait for this to be completed. Why cant he just sign up today after his medical, 99% of players usually sign same day. F#cking joke.

roversfanben Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Philip, I have been given the info from my source, who has been 100% right thus far regarding Goodwillie. It'll happen. Expect an "I told you so" once it does.
Josh Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 A Journo last night said Dundee would rather sell him to a non SPL team, so they could just reject the Rangers bid if it's equal to ours
cruz Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 surely they cant start an auction if we already have a bid accepted? Sense like that will get you banned What constitutes a 'strong rumour'?
booth Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Why cant he just sign up today after his medical, 99% of players usually sign same day. F#cking joke. Or rather, they either sign or don't sign. Usually when they don't sign they don't come back. And if Cryer and others on Twitter are to be believed, he hasn't signed.
Guest Rovers4Good Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 He had his medical yesterday as he was on the training ground and i've got pics to prove it and if he goes back to Scotland without signing that's a clear sign in my eyes. Also, why hasn't Kean come back to sort this out as he's the one who should be bending over backwards to get him and if Goodwillie has seen this then i'm not suprised he's back off up north. A Journo last night said Dundee would rather sell him to a non SPL team, so they could just reject the Rangers bid if it's equal to ours Yes but it's all about the player and i'm sure given the chance he would choose Rangers over us any day of the week.
Pitty Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 If we are taking this long signing players(players having to make at least 3 trips to meet officials) then we may as well give up on the january window now.
briansol Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Really simple. Either the player wants to come here and signs today or tomorrow, or he wants to go to Rangers which he should do then because we don't want another Barry Ferguson "homesick" situation. Pushing him in through the door if his heart not in it will only make him fail and be loaned out in January, and sold for peanuts next summer.

And if Cryer and others on Twitter are to be believed, he hasn't signed. He has signed, accoring to my source. But the press jump on every little thing, and just because it has not yet been announced, they deduce that he must be going back to Scotland to talk to Rangers.

Your pics would be nice to see, you may be the only one who has actualy called this one unless he was walking the dog.

broadsword Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I didn't -1 it, but part of pre-season nowadays is about doing PR for the club and "selling shirts" (even though we have no shirts on sale). Plenty of Utd and Real players doing appearances, etc during their tours of the US. that's absolutely true. But then, Man Utd are already back from their tour. They went to the US, bussed around, signed shirts played games and they're back. I seem to remember Ferdinand tweeting that they were whacked at one point. So their PR and friendlies were bundled into one trip and they're already back from it. We flew out to Hong Kong, played two friendlies, now some of the players are in India doing PR work ... presumably not training. Perhaps they need a bit of rest to recuperate, but they'd be better off doing that in the UK. Just makes me a mite bit uneasy about priorities so close to kick-off.

Will be great news if that is true, and you have been correct on everything so far!
Pitty Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Im starting to not want this guy here now, to much pissing about.
roversfanben Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 CryerRovers Andrew Cryer I am still being told Goodwillie will sign for Rovers. Maybe people will believe him. From me; He has signed a 4 year deal, and I expect this to be announced tomorrow.
Scott18 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 CryerRovers Andrew Cryer If Rangers lose to Malmo tmrw night they wdn't be able to afford him any way. I think that is what they are waiting for Come on Malmo
