Quick update on Park Chu-Young, The figure is not bad as it would of been more had Monaco not been relegated, but we are looking at between £6 and £7 Million to secure him

The French B division starts on Monday and Monaco and the player are keen to get his future sorted one way or another by then

not a chance, goalscoring record is awful, for that kind of money, i would want far better but knowing doughnut he would probably pay it as well. What happened to the talks of raul and podolski? why are we looking at more second rate rubbish?

Have to agree that I wouldn't be a huge fan of this signing. He's not a terrible player, but the fee seems too high. That is a lot of money for a player in Ligue 2, even from a side that has just been relegated. The one question there would be how much the fee is related to the marketing boost his team would receive from having him.

He's not a great finisher, but his movement can be quite good. I certainly can't see him scoring that many goals in the premier league.

I believe he also plays in the midfield, right/left wing. Some of the games for AS Monaco last season he played but not as the striker, other times as a second striker, sometimes as a lone striker. He seems to get moved around a lot.

Could explain his erratic goals per game ratio.

Which is bound to affect your goalscoring record. However if he was a class striker he wouldn't be moved about really.

Like Rooney?

Or if the coach knew what he was doing? I mean they did get relegated, obviously something was wrong.

Perhaps Kean wants him to play on the wing, he has the speed and technique to be a good winger.

Is this the marquee signing?

Who are you asking?

And even if someone replies, why take their answer as fact, or not believe it?

As usual you know nothing and contribute even less.

Hmmmm little bit of a different situation I feel there. Everybody already knows the quality of him, proven on all levels.

Possibly, I hear he has a good following in his home country. Obviously not world wide recognition, but its a start

If we are going to pay that kind of money we should just pay the extra and sign Honda.

Well, you have to take into account wages etc, this guy could be considerably cheaper than Honda there (probably a lot cheaper).

True, but it does show that even the best can be moved around.

I'd imagine this will come out of the "Marquee" pot. Would increase our Asia following and would sell shirts over there I presume.. although it seems too much.

I'm not Shane Long's biggest fan.. but if we are paying 7m for this guy.. i'd much prefer to add another million and go for Long.

We're Blackburn Rovers, who do people expect us to sign. How do we know that this guy will be bad? It is always funny how people judge beforehand.

why would i care about selling shirts in some far flung place on the map? i want a goalscorer, as supporters all we should care about is buying proven quality, a proven finisher. Leave the marketing side of things to the marketing department.

Who do you suggest then? Proven goalscorers cost £10 million plus. We are not mega rich, buying younger players may be a gamble but how do we know how they will turn out?
