I expected us to finish around tenth last season but after we sacked the manager we went on the worst run for over 25 years. Those are the facts.Whether we played well on 3 occasions has nothing to do with it.

Only the ludicrously optimistic highlights 3 games and puts the other 18 out of his mind.

I'm sorry, but these positive and negative threads are a waste of time.

People can write whatever the hell they like positive or negative in any thread they want.

4-1 against Kilmarnock is fine and Roberts scoring a brace, Dunn continue his fine pre season form, Goodie scoring on his debut and return to action for Hoilett and Rochina and a probable start for Formica!!! Only positives... Petrovic will take Gamst position and probably Salgado will play instead of Emerton!

Full team (almost) of U23s to be positive about. Not many teams in the PL have such an elite group coming through. Rovers not getting credit in the media for taking this approach.

Venkys spending a bit of money trying to get the structure and personnel right, good news.

Is this linked to Nicko saying that a DOF will be appointed John, any other personnel incoming that you can share?

Things seem to be coming together, players coming in, people behind the scenes being appointed, although I've never heard of the new DOF, things are starting to look better.

Keep it up Venkys.

I am encouraged by the fact that the owners appear to be giving much of the running of the club back to Ewood, the rumoured appointments should give us some positivity, though I dont know much of the calibre of either Simon Hunt nor the rumoured female appointment, if they are up to speed, I for one believe we may have a chance here and hopefully Simon Hunt will be the one jetting off to Pune and telling Kean what is required!!

That skysports preview is about the first half-decent one I've seen.

Too many of the rest have been lazy journalism tbh.

I would agree , a fair assessment of our chances this season ....

He might be getting spun, just like we all seem to be.

Still, 20 days left in the market. Dare I say a spanking at the hands of Wolves might persuade them to pony up the dough to sign what we need? I don't want us to get spanked, but if it's going to benefit the club in the long-run, it might help Venky's to see how tough this season will be without the missing components.

Kean is a puppet he will do exactly what Venkys say....if they say our teams good enough.... Kean will guide that team to champions league football........uhoh!

stokholm, you have only been on here 2 mins, if you dont like listening to people's views then go somewhere else. As for malk, no offence but your talking out of your bottom. theres every reason for pesimism, i know some of you think i am too pesimistic but thats the reality at the moment. We have seen TWO players come in before the start of the season and these are not proven premiership players either. We have had all summer to bring in some good quality players and kean and venkys have failed BIG TIME. We are weaker than last season, a season in which through most of it, we struggled to stay up. Noone on here can tell me that theres nothing to worry about or we shouldnt be pesimistic (some of you should be at least a little) We have been fed bull all summer by the 'manager' and the owners time after time. I for one, at this moment, am not optimistic at all. We lack a quality defender without samba's presense, a midfield devoid of creativty and we are toothless up front. Of course roberts is going to be a kissarse, he wants to start the season as the main striker, even though he is clearly devoid of any talent. Last season should have been a warning to the owners but they dont seem to have got the message, i am furious with whats gone on and at this moment cant see any light at the end of the tunnel. :angry2:
