probably that Venny Rao is to become the new chairman of rovers with Paul Hunt becoming Chief Exective.

VR and PH will now be allow to make decisions without talking to the owners.

this is what Kamy posted this morning in the Martin Goodman thread

"Yes Imy they are the two and now assisted by Bloch and Hunt.

Venny (Vaneeth) Rao's role will be clarified soon, club due to make a official statement. Nicko is absolutely right in his article, Venny is in effect running the club, he been delegated decision making power by the owners. Quite a nice bloke, very truthful (which is superb) and determined to get things right at Ewood.

The structure is now Venny incharge with Paul Hunt pretty much doing duties of a chief executive, assisted by Bloch et al. Ali Merchant also has a role on the recruitment side but not 100% sure what it is"

i am guessing this is nicko's story tonight

Nicko has said and I quote: "a small step forward."

How that is negative I dont know but am feeling a little relieved.

Imy, Nicko has never said it was negative. He said it would be interesting and discussed, Kamy said pages would be added to the negativity thread. It sounds like something behind the scenes regarding structure.

One thing i wish they would knock on the head is the constant trips to Pune.

nicko has already said that it is not that!!!!!!!!!!!

nicko has said that Ray Clarke is coming in as chief scout.

my question is what is happening to our current chief scout Martyn Glover?

I think that the nicko story will be about the scouting department and Kean. probably a big falling out do!!!!!!

Do you really think our scouting department is of any interest to readers outside of our club?

Kamy said it would fill the negativity thread, which is why I took the news as that.

If Vinny is Chairman and Hunt Chief Executive, I would see that as a positive rather than a negative- some structure at least.

Yeah i would see an improved structure as a positive. Maybe Vinny is getting a mixture of DOF and Chairman roles, that would be less acceptable by all?

Venny/Vaneeth Rao was the one who answered my e-mails last season when we were all really pushing for Kean to be sacked. Don't know if that means anything, but it was still nice to get a reply.

I can't see how that is even worthy of print to be honest but the wages are about as expected, can't really see any reason for negativity in the story though.

So to summarise the situation since Venky's took over....

We were told there was a great plan for the club which would see us playing Champions League football.

We sacked a manager and first team coach who had us sitting mid table in the league.

We appointed a total rookie in his place because some spivs said he put in long hours and was a positive thinker.

The Raos' said we should judge them at the end of January because big things were going to happen.

We signed two promising youngsters who hardly played all season. We spent lots of money on the wages of two established players, one of whom played reasonably well at the tail end of the season.

We parted company with one of the most renowned football administrators in the league. He was subsequently taken on by the richest club in the world.

We went on the worst run of form in the history of Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

We were saved from relegation on the last day of the season.

Judge us in the transfer window.....

We lost the renowned Managing Director.

An already weak squad has lost Phil Jones, Jermaine Jones, RSC, Mame Diouf and possibly El Hadj Diouf and Nicola Kalinic .

We've lost the club doctors.

We've lost the finance director.

Mrs Desai said the club had not been marketed well and yet the Numpies from Pune can't find a sponser.

The club has been linked with 70 odd players, including some of the world's best players.

The transfer policy has switched left, right and centre. Does anyone know what it is?

We have signed the dodgy agents son, who many observers predict will never be good enough for the Premier League, and a promising youngster from Scotland.

The net transfer spend this summer is -£14,000,000.

Our best defender is coveted by another club. If he leaves the central defence will consist of an ageing injury prone stalwart and an unproved youngster.

Virtually every sports publication reviewing the new season has us down for relegation.

Our so called (delusional) manager is up in a criminal court and will no doubt be banned from driving.

Judge us before next season......There are 6 days left until we kick off again....

If Venky's left they have already decapitated the best run club in the Premiership.

All we hear is blah, blah, blah......

But don't be negative because we're going to sign Beckham, Raul, Ronaldhino, Milito,Pavone, Crouch, Defoe,Rondon, Honda, Park.......blah, blah, blah.

That's about all there is to be negative about.

So, hopefully the Pune mob can put things right by next Saturday, then we can have a positivity thread.

Some things should be private and no other club on the planet sends out Emails with all those details. Everyone on here guesses at what a player earns and rightly so its private. We are so amateurish that a daily paper has gotten it's hands on it and published it, good on them.

Venky's you need to up your game, I doubt the players named will be that happy about having their salaries etc in the public domain.

Accepting Maji's point, it makes interesting reading.

Few things of particular note:

Grella: we want £500k for a LOAN and all wages paid. I bet we do. That should be a sales figure and cut our losses.

Diouf: we want to loan him to West Ham, who we want to pay ALL his wages up front?!! Do we pay players wages in a lump sum at the beginning of each season? Baffling.

Andrews: Have to love that a player like Andrews is on £21k basic AND gets paid 25% bonus for PLAYING. I guess it's probably par but it's still obscene.

It's not necessarily negative and should have had it's own thread for discussion but it's been posted here because of Kamy's self-fulfilling prophesy.

Biggest one of the lot is broken promises and horrid PR.. not just from quotes but the very naive official announcements (2-3 weeks for a sponsor, 3 players within the next could have weeks.. etc etc), has any promise been lived up to??

You missed the key fact that almost all of the assurances in the purchase document available on the official site have been broken.

We have not signed up our best youngster from last season to a new contract, as such he is now in his final year.

Have we officially announced our new shirt for the new season?

I view the leak of information that Nicko has published in the Mirror as a negative because of the effect that kinda thing will have on the players. It is not right that people's personal details such as salaries be broadcast without their permission. Regardless of what we think of the likes of Andrews, Grella and EHD they deserve a little more respect. I also imagine the other players will also not be happy and be worried that their salaries are going to be leaked.

The owners/club will also be angry, there is already a lot paranoia around Ewood, that will be increased as they will now believe that there is a mole at Ewood working against the best interests of the club. What came out last night is in no way earth shattering but does have the potential to have a negative impact on both the playing and none playing side of the club.

I agree. I just cannot see what the point of the article is. Football players on obscence wages is not news. Players not playing, yet getting highly paid, is not news. Players a club wants to get rid of, yet still be paid high wages, is also not news.

Cannot see the point of the article at all. Unless the writer is hinting at something else happening - but what? Maybe no more money for transfers, unless these players sold.

Putting aside the fact that publishing the wages of these players is wrong. What could the reason be for doing this. The 'leak' with regards to the subject of players wages, could only come via the players themselves, which I doubt. Or the owners, manager, or those in the money departments at the club. Motive for the article can only be disruption.

Is the point of the article not to highlight the different approach taken to selling the players? Nicko never said it was a negative thing, i think Kamy's point is different to this.

We could have all roughly guessed that these players were on these amounts, but not the pay rise every 5 games for Keef. Normally i am all for bringing kids through, if they warrant it, just have a sneaky feeling that we are going to be relying on the academy to supplement the squad and replace the 3 mentioned in the article.

I am thinking the same. Players will be brought through from the reserves, due to lack of sufficient funds for transfers.

Don't think it is a massive issue this however not very professional this type of information being in the public domain.

I tend to agree John, it doesn't send out the right messages to potential signings, that possibly in 12 month’s time the newspapers will be printing your salary details and bonus information.

Just another example of how inept these people are.

whilst I agree with the sentiments about Venky's, every time a big player signs a new contract/signs for a new club, their salary details always seem to get out, funny how we all know how much Aguero is earning following his move to City, and how it could rile the rest of the Citeh squad as it surpasses their salaries....

You are right Kamy, however, all this, IMO, is a consequence of the grossly inefficient and naive way that we are being run.
