[Archived] Allardyce on Kean and Venky's

Maji, I was going to add to my initial point in that yes most teams play one up front but have fast attacking midfielders supporting the forward. West ham don't seem to have that. Piquionne has been up top alone on more than one occasion waiting for support.

Fair comment, I've just realised its on the BBC so will tune in and see if WH are playing any differently to what we endured.

Kean did not save us from relegation - he took us to the brink of relegation with one of the worse runs feasible.

Your hatred of Allardyce is embarrassing.

You should be careful what you wish for.

I don't hate Allardyce, wrong again mercerman, you’re not having a good day are you.

Kean took us the brink of relegation, thank god you’ve got one thing right, then he saved us from being relegated, hence we kick off next week against Wolves in the premiership.

Sorry for me the pride wasnt back. We rolled over away and 7-1 is a proof of that. IF he was such an excellent manager we would try and gain some results away too.

Can people not drop that ffs. It was crap but there are always days like that in football and getting rolled over by one of the two top club sides in the world dgoes some way to explain things. Look at last season, Chelsea beat WBA 6-0 and then shortly after beat Wigan 0-6 at the DW on the same day Arsenal trounced Blackpool 6-0, btw that was just a week after Bpool won 0-4 at the DW too. NUFC batted Sunderland 5-1 yet Bruce kept his job. How about the Arse surrendering a 4-0 lead over NUFC too?

Just drop the MU away result... it's become just a backstop for the defeated.

No hoofball to be seen Maj, some good approach play, wonder how long this will last.

Cardiff are awful, only 2 players in the side that got to the playoffs last season, very poor.

Did he mention wanting to leave last summer?

Immature stuff. Every manager just as every player looks to maximise their income when the going is good.... especially it seems when BRFc is involved. :(

If Phil Jones and David Dunn can walk away for more money then don't knock someone from the midlands.

LOL, not at you GAV, but just as I read your post I looked at the TV and I saw the old 1-2-3 short passes at the back before a hoof forward.

Fair play to Kean for maximising his income.

JW and TF as well, accepting a gagging order to maximise income.

Happy days

0-1 Cardiff. Can't say they haven't deserved it. West Ham have huffed and puffed, but there's a lot of similarities in the way Rovers played under Sam to the way WH are playing. One up front for 75 mins, with not much support from midfield. If in doubt, launch it into the mixer. Said it before, but I just cannot see Allardyce getting them promoted - even with the best squad in the division.

Blackburn Rovers existed long before Mr. Samuel Allardyce and it'll live long after. Wish some would realize that.

Unfortunately that might not be the case and it depends very much on the very people that sacked Allardyce.

Get in Cardiff!

Only saw the second half...West Ham were cr@p. Boring stuff.

Not AS much longball but quite a lot, only looked like scoring off set pieces really.

Very sad seeing all the Sam haters queuing up hoping to see West Ham stumble in the first match.

They'll be happy now Jim. Green throwing it into his own net in the last minute must have been a proper 'hammer' blow.

That's what you fail to grasp. I don't give a stuff about Sam now he has left. I want them to lose so I don't have to read people like you banging on about how good he is all the time.

The best team in the championship.

We'll see

A marriage made in heaven.

The honeymoon is over

And we have such a success story in charge of us don't we. Kean produced the longest run of winless games for a quarter of a century. Still, I suppose to a minority as long as it's not Sam that sort of record is worth it. Forget the fact that the guy saved us from certain relegation, forget the tenth place finish, forget the League Cup Semi-final, let's just celebrate that he's no longer here and we have a guy in charge who produced such an appalling sequence of results last season for us. There are times when I think Kean, Venkys and a section of our support deserve one another. As you say, "a marriage made in heaven."

What has Kean got to do with it?

Seems you're wrong once again Mercerman, the upper tier of the Trevor Brooking standing is a family area with season tickets available for £500.

Like most of what you write on here, complete and utter cr@p.

So, the upper tier is completely empty because they've sold no family season tickets ?

As you seem to think that you have all the answers, I'll leave you to work it out.

As they say darn sarf "You've already mugged yourself off"

Have a look on the website, it’s there in claret and blue.

WHAM will be disappointed, however, Rome wasn't built in a day.

I don't think we should really gloat because come next Saturday, there's a fair chance that we'll be booing Rovers off.

Okay, so, as I asked, why no supporters there ?

I know the answer - you try and think it through.
