RibbleValleyRover Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 God help us if we start with that team first game of the season. Any news on how many Rovers fans have travelled up? Will be interesting to see if Goodie can come on and have an impact.
Stevo Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Jeez, hope there's nothing in Samba not being in the team. I really wouldn't like to see Hanley even as high up as 3rd choice centre back tbh. Fingers crossed for no injuries today! Edit: Just seen the Samba news, wasn't there when I posted.
den Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Looks like we wont have Nelsen for the Wolves game either.
chaddyrovers Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Samba is injured. still got his groin injury ReportingRover Lee Grooby Samba picked up a groin strain in training in Hong Kong. He's here, but not playing so everybody can just CALM DOWN!!!

chaddyrovers Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Robinson Emerton Hanley Givet Olsson Nzonzi Dunn Hoilet Formica MGP Roberts We play 4-2-3-1 formation LIKE we have all pre season. Kean seems set playing this way now.

old darwen blue Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Is commentary legally available on the internet anywhere?
JamieUK Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I wonder what's caused Grella to miss this one...
G Somerset Rover Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I wonder what's caused Grella to miss this one... Broke a nail this morning so he just didn't want to take the risk.
chaddyrovers Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Play that team in the league and Rovers will get hammered. Another negative comment!!! That team is not a bad team. would expect at least 8 players from my team to start against Wolves next week. Expect Samba, Salgado and Nelsen(if fit to play) to be in that team.
den Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Cryer: Nelsen was never going to be fit for this game. So he wont make the beginning of the season and we might not see him for a while. If Samba doesn't make it, it's Givet and Hanley against Wolves. The frailty of this squad is frightening.

If Samba doesn't make it, it's Givet and Hanley against Wolves. The frailty of this squad is frightening. Take two first choice centre backs out of most PL teams and you could say the same.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Cryer: Nelsen was never going to be fit for this game. So he wont make the beginning of the season and we might not see him for a while. If Samba doesn't make it, it's Givet and Hanley against Wolves. The frailty of this squad is frightening. A Givet and Hanley pairing first game of the season would be a big blow. Need Nelsen or Samba there (ideally both). That midfield we have put out today has the same glaring weaknesses that has seen the club decline in recent years and saw us only just survive on the final day. Only N'Zonzi is good enough in that central part of midfield. Roberts up front and will probably start against Wolves if he comes through unscathed. Roberts should never start games. The final game of pre-season just shows how poor our squad is and damning evidence on how poor we have been in the transfer market.
chaddyrovers Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I wish I had your outlook Chaddy. It must be wonderful to see sunshine every day wherever you are. I always to try to look at things in a positive outlook! Try looking at the glass half full INSTEAD of being half empty!
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 We're at home on the first day of the season Oops corrected. 1-0 Killie
