Mattyblue Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I'm usually a bundle of nerves at PL games these days, so I quite enjoy the cup ties.

Backroom Tom Posted August 18, 2011 Backroom Posted August 18, 2011 Got mine, decided to sit near the home dugout for a change, not many sold even in those blocks
Backroom Tom Posted August 19, 2011 Backroom Posted August 19, 2011 I hope some signings early in the week boost sales for this, otherwise I fear we may see an embarassing turnout
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Tickets just bought online,seats available?......WOW!
Ozz Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 We played Wigan in't League Cup 2nd round in 1982 or so and the second leg at Ewood has just over 2,000 on.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 This game has now reached do or die proportions for our 'friend' Mr Kean.... make no mistake!
Waggy76 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I for one will not be there !! The first time in over 30 yrs , I will stay at home .. I have had enough of Kean , it is time for him to go .I am beginning to wish , i hadn't a season ticket (33yrs) this season will end in relegation not on the last week of the season , but in March . I cannot see us getting 12 points all season with this half wit of a manager and idiotic owners .... maybe a boycott of the Sheffield game would bring the situation to a head .A gate of 1500 , wouldn't surprise me, 500 or 600 OF them from Sheffield .. We are in a jam , the biggest jam since sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun !!! KEAN OUT !!! VENKYS OUT !!!!!
Ben-2000 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 We usually get at least 7k for these games... but I can't call the attendance on Wednesday... looking at OneRovers is quite depressing.

This is an ideal match to voice a protest. After all it will not effect the premiership situation.

PAFELL Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 If I was to go on Wednesday night , I would get arrested for trying to the throttle the pillock!!! You'd have plenty of co-defendants.
JAL Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Playing third division Sheffield Wednesday should be about Stephen Kean's level, though I may be being a tad too complimentary for the man. Looking forward to the game, the fans reaction and most importantly the Rovers performance as these game are always good to see new players bedding in. A poor performance though and I definitely wouldnt want to be Stephen Keans bodyguard.
roverandout Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 does anyone know if season ticket holders get in free like in years gone by?
JAL Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 does anyone know if season ticket holders get in free like in years gone by? No! you tight arse its £10 for all bar concessions which is £5.
Neil Weaver Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 does anyone know if season ticket holders get in free like in years gone by? When did this happen? I've had an ST for a few years now but can't remember this being done. Happy to be enlightened........
A cup of beans Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 We're going, tickets bought. Sheff weds been given just over 3000 in bottom tier of Darwen end. and me sheff weds hardly used to bring any in when they were in the prem.. but they should sell the 3000. crowd of about 8000
MarkBRFC Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 When did this happen? I've had an ST for a few years now but can't remember this being done. Happy to be enlightened........ 2000/2001 Season, the first round and second round games against Rochdale & Portsmouth were free to season ticket holders. Long time ago though, so i'm baffled as to why he would think we would get in for free on Wednesday.
3rdpillar Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 i am going. i expect all bars and refereshment places to be open. If not venkys can (do one)......
scotty_beam_me_up Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I'm extremely interested in this years league cup as when we were out in Hong Kong Steve Kean bet a Rovers fan £100 we would win the Carling Cup!!
roverandout Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 yes i remember now, i was at the rochdale game, didnt diawarra come on as a sub and then get subsstituted as he was that bad? we won 6-0 too if i remember correctly, being a rovers fan is so hard on the memory at times, i just couldnt remember.
Rover9 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I will be moving over to the JW Lower for this, I think this will be a similar match to the Norwich (I think) match last season (M.Diouf hat-trick) and I am expecting goals. I don't think scoring will be a problem but it will be interesting seeing what defensive line-up we go with and who plays, I imagine Nelsen and Hanley will start to gain match fitness and confidence respectively. 3-1 8,345 COYB
