Bloody hell, you do realise not EVERYTHING to do with the club has actually got Venky's stamp of approval/dismissal on it?

We all understand the issues re:our ownership, but I seriously doubt whether Venky's have anything to do with this decision whatsoever.

Anyway, back on topic I quite like how Wolves have a statue of each player outside each stand they're named after.

Rather than just singling out a few legends, I would like to see the club honouring far more of our true greats.

Why not form an Ewood Walk? Instead of just a few players being acknowledged, why not have statues of all the great Rovers in our history, and surround the ground with them? A pantheon of Roverites.

As for the Blackburn End. It will always be the Blackburn End and the Darwen End will always be the Darwen End. Full stop, so why not find a more suitable outlet for our former greats?

I'm sure you noticed 4 new stands go up between 87 and 94?

The only thing remaining from that era is the boardroom, albeit removed and re-fitted

Don't forget the wall infront of the riverside that's still original.

So, have you written to the club suggesting this?

Seeing as you are asking.

Yes, I have actually.

That's great. Too many come up with ideas that the club could make good use of and they just disappear into the air.

The club has always been willing to look at ideas from fans and things haven't changed.

I do get a bit cross when people make good suggestions but don't send them to the people who can make them happen and then moan about it!

I believe it was brought up a couple of years back at the fans forum, which resulted in the flags being place in lamp posts around Ewood.

We don’t celebrate our history enough, I walked around the Emirates recently, they’ve not spent millions on advertising the history of Arsenal, but what they’ve done is terrific. Large murals plastered to the side of the stadium of past players and great teams, really effective abnd draws crowds even on non match days.

Ah those flags need replacing or removing as they are mostly either tattered and fading or broken. Also parts around the ground need a good clean up. A rusty old coke dispenser and battered rubbish bins don't do a lot for the place.

Couldn't agree more mum.

Absolutely Gav. There are so many things that could be done. Maybe rovers should delegate responsibility to someone at Ewood to look at this whole thing.

Whatever our club looks like to outsiders nowadays, we do have a history that few other clubs can match and that should be apparent to any fan, home or away, that visits our stadium.
