Ricky
But drog, you seem to be missing the point that we didn't have anyone to protect the back 4. We don't have a fit defensive midfielder at the moment apart from the one who was playing centre half

thenodrog
Hm. No point really arguing it, but there are some serious knee-jerk reactions going on here. Things are not half as bad as some are making out and we are only a signing or two away from what could be a very good team. Now making those signings will be key, but until the window shuts we have to wait and see. Give that team a proper centreback pairing and a goalscorer and it looks top half to me. Tons of creativity. Lots of pace. I'd put it as far to say that had Salgado not had an absolute nightmare we would have won today. Err.... thats 3 signings needed then eddie. btw have you not got your consortium sorted yet? I've a feeling BRFC will be going bloody cheap soon. Waggy76
Didnt make it to the game yesterday but just sat through Football First. Good Point: David Goodwillie debut - i think he showed some real qualities, and it wont be long before he is on the scoresheet. Bad Points: The whole defence - ok, it may have been patched up, but is that really the best we can do? At times the defending was embarrassing. Steve Kean - his post match interview was sickening to listen to. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Nick Blackman - can anyone explain how this guy is a footballer, let alone a Rovers player? I am not yet as clinically depressed as others on here but If we have less than ten points at the end of september, then it would have to time to part company with SK. Unless Kean is removed from his post , immediately Blackburn Rovers will be marooned at the bottom by end of September ....With no more than 5 points.. magicalmortensleftpeg
The scary thing is, doesn't Andrews have experience of playing CB??? Im pretty sure he played there once or twice when players were injured during a match..
thenodrog
No game, or team performance is a certainty. Wolves have as much right as any other team to get a result. There is more than enough about Blackburn Rovers to get us up and running. Today showed that we have talented players and a problem in defence. Both of these, I'm sure will be addressed. What are you smoking? Pass it round.
thenodrog
If you've thrown in the towel why are you bothered to post? Living in Blackburn I am still a full member of this site thank you very much. You on the othert hand are just a country member. I know how paranoid you can become so I thinks it's best you stop any vendetta before you start. Taylor is right to nail the Trust for selling the club to Venkys. Maybe. What good do you think it will do?
thenodrog
Then bugger off to another messageboard. Support another team, follow another sport, find another hobby. Just do something else with your time. Why come on here and be a doom and gloom merchant when you can't even be properly committed to the cause? Properly commited???? Eddie.... You reckon you live in Paris so let me turn that around. Have you EVER been to Ewood? If so how many times and how many season tickets have you bought? I think the vacuuos goons who ticked your post might like to know. If you were Kean what would you have done differently? I am struggling to think of what I would have done with the back 4. Start with Emo at RB and Salgado at CB, but Salgado is too small and aerially not the best. Start with three at the back and two wing backs? It was a tough one. Next match we should have Givet and Samba back with Petrovic too, so defence would look: Salgado Samba Givet Olsson Petrovic Nzonzi Formica Dunn Hoilett Roberts Already looks a decent side to me with pace, skill and some steal at the back. Talking of relegation after ONE game is madness IMO. yet another who was not at the game I'd wager. Were you imy?
roverandout
i agree theno, its alright for these people to be shouting the odds, saying we arent real fans, but we are the ones who are down at ewood every other saturday, trying to get behind the players even when they dont deserve it at times. theno's post was deleted for some reason

There is a term 'part time supporter' frequently chanted at opposing supporters. Eddie you do not even qualify for that label. To the four goons who automatically ticked that post please ask Mr Committed himself, Eddie 1. How often he has been to Ewood Park.... ever. 2. How many times he has bought a ST. Alternatively eddie you could just answer those questions yourself. Off you go.
Mercer
Yes we had injuries yesterday, however, that should not mask the fact that, organisationally, IMO, our club is a mess from top to bottom. When you have a situation like this, it's akin to turning round an oil tanker in harbour. I still don't think the penny has dropped with some - a few signings, even if we can persuade anyone to come to Ewood, will not solve the problem. The structure and heart has been ripped out of our club. I spoke with a couple of employees yesterday and nothing that I heard surprised me. Maple Leaf did an excellent aricle after the game. Everyone you speak to, everywhere you look, problems, problems and more problems. Sadly, I think Philip is spot on about his believe that we are certainties for relegation. The signs are there, Samba's almost certainly off, Hoilett's contract position and the fact that as Venky's & Kean's mouthpiece, Roberts is almost guaranteed a start. Sad, sad and deeply disappointing times.
Ricky
Alright drog, I was there and yes I do have a season ticket so I hope you allow me to reply to your post I also agree with Imy in that i don't know what kean could have done differently. We just don't currently have the numbers. We had no defensive midfield options
Stuart
Just watching Goals On Sunday analysing the first Wolves goal. What a completely pointless exercise. Talking about our centre-halves as though it was a normal defensive unit. No mention of a rookie and midfielder as our CB pairing. They didn't do the text book marking, well who'd have thought... thenodrog
Did you actually read what he said? Have you bought a season ticket? Have you chosen not to buy one even though you can? Have you said you would not bother turning up even if it was for free? He is not talking about you is he? I'm getting sick of people who pretend everlasting support but never expect to pay for the privelidge. Have you posted off your 220 quid yet to your beloved Venkey's imy? You never have in your bloody life have you so dont tell other people how and where to spend their money. Like eddie needs to be reminded buying a season ticket in support of the club you follow does not actually require you to attend does it? All these ex pats could buy the cheapest ST available (and the cheapest in the Prem league) to show their support but I bet none of em does yet no doubt they all watch it on some internet stream for nowt. Dont forget us lot around here buy the ST's and spend more time and money in getting to and actually at Ewood on top. 1 ST at BRFC or 4 tickets at QPR. You have no excuses. btw... Should your guilt persuade you to purchase a ST could you please cut out the middle man and make all cheques payable to 'Venkeys PLC'.

We just don't currently have the numbers. We had no defensive midfield options The mistake wasn't in what he did yesterday but in what he/Venky's haven't done this transfer window - replace what we have lost. 11 out 2.1 in and a profit to make the trust look generous. ###### poor management from top to toe is the reason we saw what we did in defence yesterday. Hughesy
£1,000 at evens if you want...and I am dead serious. Make that £1000 from Eddie & £1000 from me Too many people on here want Rovers to fail, just so they can be proven right and say 'I told you so' - its pathetic! Your supposed to support Rovers, not kick off after 1 game. Yesterday we were missing 4 FIRST CHOICE players - Samba, Nelsen, Givet & Petrovic. Add to that we had Hoilett at about 70% fitness and a midfielder in central defence - it was ALWAYS going to be difficult with that set-up. Yes some of that is Keans fault, yes some of it is the owners fault for not making more signings BUT who could seriously have seen we would be missing 3 1st choice central defenders for the 1st game? Get a grip, get behind your team and start to support them. Give Venkys till Sept 1st in the transfer market to judge them, and give Kean at least 6-8 games before you start pathetic threads asking for his head. Everybody saw the effect Jones had in midfield yet we haven't bothered replacing him. Pity Anderson hasn't another kid who plays centre mid eh? Tell you what Ricky... how about 4-5-1 for starters? Ricky
I'm not disagreeing with that at all Maj, fully agree. Te point I'm making is that drog is saying we should have had someone protecting the back 4, I'm just trying to point out that we didn't have anyone!! Surely the new lad could have been registered in time though.
thenodrog
Touch and go a week ago doesn't really help with signing a player. We should hardly rush signing a central back for one match. I amey n sure that they would have liked to have signed a central defender by now, but they haven't. It isn't the end of the world. They need to and if they don't by September 1st then that is the time to turn round and be critical of them. Good grief! That will be too damn late! Have you stopped to consider Samba is highly likely to be a late departure with Spurs apparently beating the door down, Arsenal under fire for being soft touches and with Barca's millions burning a hole in their pockets and now on top of that Lpool are touted to be in the market for a CH. Personally I would be very suprised to see Samba here come Sept 1st. Dunno bout you but the more I see of the Venkeys the more I see asset strippers. Surely the new lad could have been registered in time though. I get the point Ricky and to a degree I agree with Drog as Wolves looked threatening with every counter. I would have played a sitter regardless of who and made it my mission to guide him as much as I could from the touchline. Worst part of yesterday for is that according to the BBC we had double the shots and corners that Wolves did and yet lost. So whilst we may look good going forward its without purpose as we're not scoring. Funniest thing of all is I may have chosen Roberts for the role, big physical, pacey ish and aggressive and taken my chances, Goodwillie to start up top. But sure as hell we'd have been at Brockhall walking through the tactics on the pitch, all day prior to kick off in desperation to get some cohesion out there. The defence would have been told to stay compact and to protect the box at all times. And I'll get slatted for saying that.
SIMON GARNERS 194
Unlucky today lads. I imagine the result might well have been different had you had that man mountain lining up at CB for you! I think Wolves played pretty well today and, while your boys were good in parts, a number of them looked, well, out of it. You played some very good stuff going forward (when you kept in on the ground) but Salgado had the worst game I've ever seen him have and Olsson went walkabout too often. Good luck for the rest of the season. You fully deserved the three points, good following from your fans too.

thenodrog
Anyone else think the PA was far too loud in the Blackburn End today? Me. So loud it made me wince. It was mentioned that Villa have encountered similar problems? Venky's promised to clear our debts and invest in the club, they have done the exact opposite and now we owe more money than we ever have, as they are just servicing the old debt and creating more with their ineptness. It's little wonder people think we are being stripped, their actions say far more than their words ever will.
thenodrog
Christ on a bike, just what we needed! I'm not kidding, should we really have let Super Keef go out on loan? EHD for all his faults is better than the pair of em put together. We're still paying him 30k pw but I can't see him playing whilst baldy is in charge.
