Petrovic signed on Tuesday so how did he not get his visa stamped in time for Friday lunchtime's deadline? We just can't do anything professionally.

He played on Wedensday then had to travel to Serbia on Thursday to sort it out.

Ok. I hope he is available next week so we can more presence in midfield. Tough match to play him in but his play tells me he can handle it.

Unlucky today lads. I imagine the result might well have been different had you had that man mountain lining up at CB for you!

I think Wolves played pretty well today and, while your boys were good in parts, a number of them looked, well, out of it.

You played some very good stuff going forward (when you kept in on the ground) but Salgado had the worst game I've ever seen him have and Olsson went walkabout too often.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

I'm not sure if anyone else has posted on these lines as I am reading the message quite some time after it was written.

During the half time tribute to Ronnie and the re-naming of the stand, I was struck by the large number of Wolves' fans who joined in clapping at the end of the tribute.

Well done.

The players like him though and that is the most important thing....... <_<

I deliberately watched as the players came off at the end of the match.

There was absolutely no communication , no acknowledgement, between the Kean and the players.

After this continued with the first 8 players or so, Kean turned round and went down the tunnel.

I've spoke to players who can't speak highly enough of Kean, to be honest he probably is a good man manager he's just clueless when it comes to managing a football team on the pitch.

Good management is about much more than that though, it is sometimes rattling players cages and ultimately getting the best of them which usually translates into winning football matches.

I am glad we are cutting the numbers in the squad as for years we have had a lot of deadwood eating up the wages, however with less numbers we need more quality and we can't let the squad go the opposite way and get too thin. As I posted yesterday, I don't mind the look of our first choice team, especially if Petrovic has a similar impact to J.Jones, but I agree we need more players in and obviously improvements can be made.

I think we would have beaten Wolves if Samba, Givet and Nelson were fit. I know someone mentioned how would that have helped us score goals, but we would have been a lot more stable and I think the back four and specifically Salgado would have been more organised, the midfield would have been more solid and Olsson could have moved to left wing giving more options and pace. The whole team would have been more confident for starters.

What would I have done in Kean's position yesterday? No idea, but someone, whoever is making the decisions, cost us, for example we wouldn't have Myles Anderson if he is not good enough to play ahead of an out of position Nzonzi, and we'd have someone more capable. We'd have had players such as Petrovic in and sorted earlier. We wouldn't have had all the messing around re budgets etc etc. It seems pointless going over old ground time and time again...the Sam debate etc etc, even Ince still gets discussed. The past is just that, and I hope and Pray that Venkys want to sort out all the mess of the last few months.

All I care about right now is getting the points on the board and sorting things out behind the scenes. Ensuring our future is secure. All these rumours about whats going on is just driving me insane. I hope Kean succeeds, however unlikely that looks, because that means Rovers succeed, I want Venkys to make the right decisions from now on with regards to the manager, running the club, and buying/selling players and turn into fantastic owners, however unlikely that looks too. I haven't lost faith but I agree these are very worrying times. I don't think it is a certainty that we will get relegated either, but again I am concerned.

" well whats the point of fans, players, management turning up for games if thats going to be the mentality"

err 'whats the point'? Imy You never ever have turned up, and now I've joined the massed ranks of stayaways too for this season.

Means I can be on here more I suppose. :tu:

btw Imy wouldn't our survival have been on goal difference only? Losing the best young player in the country and the excellent Jermaine Jones and replacing them with lesser players would surely see your prediction off.

Firstly we would have stayed up, correct? Glad we agree.

Secondly just because I am not a st holder does not that I do not attend games, so I guess ill see more games than you this season.

Thirdly what's the point of turning up when the mentality is we are relegated, why go through the torture... oh wait you have.

Finally the excellent Jones' were key last year but so were others, we need to replace them and add more to the ranks but we will not be relegated.

We will have to have a large slice of luck to have three worse ran clubs/teams this season, because we aren't going to stay up on merit if things carry on.

Oh I agree completely I'm just saying the players seem to like him. Some of the best managers I've worked under have been complete b*stards, I'd love Souey to come in now and give the players a good kick up the backside.

England players liked Steve McClaren too.

Living in Blackburn I am still a full member of this site thank you very much. You on the othert hand are just a country member.

I live 30 miles away from the ground, not that its relevant.

I know how paranoid you can become so I thinks it's best you stop any vendetta before you start. ;)

Please write in sentences that make sense.

Maybe. What good do you think it will do?

Anyone spouting nonsense about relegation being nailed on after ONE game needs to wind their necks in and get a grip. A couple of decent signings allied with our injured players returning gives us as much of a chance as anyone else.

The hysteria on here by some is plain embarrassing..

i agree theno, its alright for these people to be shouting the odds, saying we arent real fans, but we are the ones who are down at ewood every other saturday, trying to get behind the players even when they dont deserve it at times.

theno's post was deleted for some reason

In case yuo've missed the point Theno hasn't bought a season ticket.

I for one am astonished at some of the knee jerk reactions there is still 37 games left and also I am totally surprised how no-one has highlighted the ref and his linesman were so shocking I would not even trust them to set-up my lunch! let alone ref a premier league game talking points:

1.How the ref could not see Hoilett's shot after 3mins was over the line is beyond me!.

2.Stephen Hunt & Johnson's treatment of Formica was totally shocking clearly in the first half we should have clearly had a penalty. Even from last year's game like EHD both him & Hunt should be institutionalised cannot play football just goes round fouling even that last game last year he is an absolutely dirty fouling individual who should be nowhere near a footie pitch.

3. But one thing the manager & owners must take full responsibility for P.Jones left for Man U long time ago Kean should have had a replacement lined up straight away and the owners should have splashed the cash long ago and to be honest for Kean to be forced into fielding such an inexperienced bench & side reflects badly on the owners also after reading that Maple Leaf's comments and comments on here the club is in a mess & as stated we need more bodies. I also feel after reading today's mirror article it seems reading between the lines there seems to be a problem with finances but hope that is hot air as a C/Defender is a major priority and just looking at what's out there there are players who could improve us inc City's Onuha I see he has appointed Tevez's advisor Joorabchian to find him a club for 4M is a steal but his 2M a year salary could be a sticking point also looking at today's prem lge games we should at least be asking about players like Paulo Ferreira,Alex, even Ivanovic would be worth asking about all would improve our C/Defence & would be reasonably priced. Though to conclude looking at yesterday's debacle & Kean's pleas to the mirror before the end of the window we will need at least 1 CB, 2 Midfielders 1 Ctrl 1st team & 1 backup, & at least 2 strikers as goodwillie is only ever a good impact sub we can't rely on Cato full time as an out & out striker and now with losing RSC,MB Diouf,Kalinic & from yesterday Benjani who I am thoroughly peed off with who I feel has used our club to get a better pay deal at Pompey we are woefully thin up front Kamy please give us some good news in the podcast later this is being sorted & other things. Sorry for the rant but after yesterday's debacle things need saying & hopefully as they read these boards they take decisive action to remedy the problems that exist within the club otherwise mark my words come the end of the season we will go down as Del Boy would say we need to do something quick!.

I don't think anyone is displaying hysteria based simply on yesterday's performance. The fact is that the present squad is weaker than the one that finished last season. Relegation is always a possiblity for a club like the Rovers - it was under the Trust and nothing has changed in that respect under Venky's except that we have a weaker squad.

Kean and Venky's have had three months to rebuild the squad and failed to do so. Kean can moan all he wants about injuries but it is his responsiblity to ensure that he has a squad that can cover injuries. Having failed to rebuild the squad in three months we will now be scurrying around over the next couple of weeks trying to find players to add to the squad. Any player who is signed now will have to be integrated into the team during the League programme instead of pre-season. Personally, I think it smacks of poor organisation. The attendance yesterday shows that a sizeable number have already turned their backs on the club and that can only mean a further drop in income.

I fully agree that relegation is not a nailed on certainty but the warning signs are there for all to see.

The last two weeks of the transfer window are absolutely pivotal.

Without a decent cluster of experienced players coming in who don't need a bedding-in period, then we're really up against it.

Asking that squad to get through the season and keep the club up is like asking Pee Wee Herman to have a marathon love-making session with Hattie Jacques. It's simply not up to it.

Don't rise to the bait pb. Anyone who posts anything remotely critical of the current administration is quickly shamed by one of yeti-dog's stern posts, which are part incredulity and part derision that anyone could post what is so evidently agenda-driven garbage.

Bucky the fact that he replied directly to the comment is probably the definition of rising to the bait. Also while he agreed with one of the points (which pretty much all this board agree with), the initial part of the comment was to directly contradict what yeti-dog was saying.

Sorry, the owners don't have to attend games. It would be great if they flew over for every match, but realistically they live miles away, have their main business to run and other things to do. Even if you are critical for them for not spending ENOUGH, they are losing money with this venture and there is no reason for them to turn up every Saturday. I would like to know that at least one of them watches every match, that they care what happens to the club, but they don't have to turn up to prove that.

As for the argument about 'needing every supporter'. Well I have taken criticism from others on here before, including thenodrog, for not knowing what it is truly like, for not being a true fan because I live in another country and because I don't attend every match. Well it costs more for me to attend the one or two Rovers games that I make it to every year than it does to buy two season tickets, so when the 'real' fans come on here and say that they aren't buying season tickets, aren't attending matches and wouldn't even attend the games when the tickets are free...well then bugger off.

If you want the nice ride support United. Support Barcelona. If you want to support YOUR club...well then do it. Do it regardless of who owns it (unless it is some war criminal, murderer or total crook). Do it regardless of how good or bad the players are. Do it regardless of the manager. Do it regardless of the league standing. If any of those figure into your decision making for whether or not you attend a match on a Saturday then you are, quite frankly, not a real supporter.

Exactly right Eddie. That is exactly how I feel as well. A supporter is not just someone that turns up when the team plays in the PL or when things are generally going well. A supporter is one who commits themselves to the cause of truly backing and supporting a club no matter how well or how badly things are going at any particular point in time. It has to be a lifetime commitment, not just a passing fancy or whim of fashion, and it can bring pain and suffering as well as joys and glory. If you can't accept this sort of commitment then i am sorry that no matter how many season tickets you have had or how long you have attended matches you cannot call yourself a true supporter.

True supporters are fully entiltled to moan when things go wrong, or when all is not rosy on the pitch or behind the scenes, but through it all a true supporter no matter how bad things seem to be will NEVER stop supporting the club and the players.
