sorry ripleys but your blind faith in the venkys is getting irritating.

You're getting irritating, if you don't like it don't read it, every thread you're having a pop at someone.

I started typing a team sheet for tomorrow but couldn't select one that didn't depress me terribly. Has it really come to this? What a mess.

I've always been a Rovers fanatic and always will be so with a pinch of that blind faith we are famous for I'll chalk this one down as a home win (he said through gritted teeth). It's a labour of love following this club but why make it so bloody hard for us, Jeez!

Where's the reinforcements? Never mind, apparently Jason's smoking in training  COYB :rover:

at the minute roberts has to play and without samba and the continued presence of the increasingly slower salgado we look very very lightweight and vunerable. Unless hoillet plays out of his skin i can only see a draw.

To any Southern-based Rovers fans who are heading up to the game tomorrow without tickets...

I have just won 2 free tickets from Barclays to tomorrow's home game against Wolves but sadly can't go due to other commitments. The tickets have been sent to me by courier but have gone to the local depot as no one was home earlier, and I can't now collect them until 7am tomorrow morning (Saturday).

I live in Egham, Surrey (junc 13 of the M25), so if any of you are passing nearby on your way up tomorrow (after 7am obviously) and want to grab these 2 free tickets on your travels, they're yours if you want them. I'd rather someone got some use rather than putting them in the bin!

It's a long shot considering where I live but you never know...

Cheers

Robinson

Salgado Givet Samba Olsson

N'Zonzi Emerton

Formica Rochina Hoillett

Goodwillie

Most exciting Rovers team in ages! Might be too lightweight in midfield for a game like this but I can't wait for that side to play.

Possibly swap Rochina for Dunn for the first half and sure up the midfield a bit and I haven't really seen Goodwillie don't know if he's strong enough to do that role yet so possibly Roberts.

It's going to be a good match.. Bring on tomorrow!

Oh and by the way abbey I'm posting via iPhone in a lorry so I tends to be a little difficult posting sometimes . I woudnt expect an old man like yourself to understand the joys of technology in today's world anyway.

Not everyone can acsess a computer you know. Anyway enough of this , come on rovers make the mugs eat humble pie 3-1

I phones have the ability to quote! What's this old man thing ?

Robinson, Bunn, Salgado, Givet, Hanley, Samba, Olsson, Emerton, Pedersen, Nzonzi, Dunn, Grella, Formica, Rochina, Hoilett, Roberts, Goodwillie, Blackman, Aley, Anderson, Henley.

good attacking midfield options and a great goalie but beyond that the defence regardless of who plays out of that squad looks awful and any cover in front of the defence very lightweight.

About the only thing kean has said that i agree wit is that we need more players to form the spine of te team a defender a midfielder and a striker asap.

Nervous about the prospect of having Givet and Hanley in as centre halves tomorrow. Christ I hope Samba makes it.

The blessing is it is only Wolves not the most potent team .

What do you think tommorrows crowd will be? I reckon about 19000

What with 3000 Wolves fans

Not wishing to be too picky, and desperately in need of sharing some of that 'excitement' but ...

If Samba isn't 100% fit and mobile (given it's not his number one attribute even when firing on all cylinders)

If you think the midfield may be 'too lightweight'

if you would 'possibly' swap Rochina for Dunn

If you haven't 'seen' Goodwillie play and don't 'know' if he's strong enough

If - as I've heard from several people in the game that - Formica isn't Premiership standard (yet or maybe never who knows)

If our best attacking midfielder/winger is doing duty at left back

What exactly is your basis for stating that this is the 'most exciting Rovers team in ages!'?

Having re-read this I know that I sound like a real sarcastic so and so but it's genuinely not meant, I'm just fascinated by how so many posters can take positives out of a situation that - as it stands - is woeful.

Is it a case of whistling in the dark? I think that the above is an unbalanced team of lightweights. Who's the ball winner? Which Nzonzi will turn up? I just hope that Wolves are worse than us and that we have a soft ref or else we could really be struggling. Please feel free to stick up a finger when we win of course  I'll deserve it. :rover:

Well IF all of these players have a great start to the season then we could be in for some beautiful football that actually wins matches.

Yes it could be 8 kids a black guy an OAP and a keeper that chase the ball like a bunch of 6 year olds and then it will be an awful season.

But as much as everyone seems to want to write off some of these players before they get their chance they still COULD come good.

I'd like to go into Saturday feeling good and enjoying the first day of the season.. hopefully I'll leave the same way. If I don't then I'll keep my chin up and see how we are September 1st. If we're still just as poor then my good attitude may turn very sour. But until then I'd much prefer to keep spirits up.

It's a massive worry that going into the first game we're all so desperate for Samba to be fit. Last season Samba being out was always a blow but never caused panic on this scale. Let's face it, Nelsen is also getting on a bit and I'd be surprised if he's fit for more than 50-60% of games this season too. I think a fit Samba is the difference between a win and a loss/draw tomorrow. I'm gona remain optimistic at least till the team is announced though and can't bloody wait to march up them steps to my perch on the back row of N01 regardless, COYB.

4-4-2

Robinson; Salgado, Samba, Givet, Olson; Emerton, Dunn, Nzonzi, Pederson; Roberts, Formica

Subs; Hanley, Rochina, Goodwillie, Riberio, Grella, Bunn, Blackman

No Hoilett at all?

Very excited about tomorrow, but I share the same concerns as others on here. Going in with Gael and Hanley at the back is a worry. The only thing going in our favour is the fact that it is Wolves we are playing at home and not a bigger more threatening team away. Could see us getting a rollocking if that were the case, but I think we'll get the win here and that should give some confidence early on. A couple more bodies in, hopefully a good striker and Samba back from injury and I think we can have a good season.

So let's get behind the team and see if we can get 3 points on the board!
