I am numb. It really does feel like Groundhog Day at this stage.

Tune in to Soccer Saturday at 5:30 every week to see a dry-mouthed Steve Kean trying to spin positives from a deserved defeat - with no-one directly asking him about his truly awful managerial record.

Scrub that "numbness" - I feel sick.

Don't worry, no doubt if the losing streak continues Kean will do another phone in with the LET and those two 'ruthless' fans who gave him both barrels last time round.....

I agree with most of what you said there Zac. Kean talked about a better brand of football but to me we were void of: shape, game plan, leadership and general style of play. Salgado is now a liability, regardless of past performances. I believe that a experienced manager could be the difference though.

Kean must go.

he wont be sacked.. yet. But he hasnt got long to improve. if we lose at home to everton.. protests will start!

im going the sheff weds game in midweek.. but wonder how many turn up for that ?? 5,000 home fans ?

Well it was the performance away at Villa in the league last season when I realised Kean was clueless. It really was one of the worst performances I'd ever seen. Today wasn't much better. We are probably worse off now though as our squad is considerably weaker. There was also hope after last years villa park shocker, as we assumed our manager was sackable. Of course, we now know that is not the case. Where do we go from here? It really is a very sad time in our history. Owned by idiots, managed and coached by an idiot and a squad that is the weakest, slowest and most uninterested team in the premier league. We really are doomed and the most agonising aspect of our fate is that it could so easily be corrected with the appointment of a decent manager. Why can Venky's not see this?

If players are under performing/look unfit/lack passion, ultimately Rev,.... who's fault is that then?

The manager's SG. And whilst I do not bear the personal animosity towards Kean that many seem to it has to be said that overall Kean's record is not good enough. However you can't really sack a manager after 2 games and/or allow him to bring in players of his choice this transfer window then sack him.

He has to be given a few games to see what happens when any new signings have bedded in.

people just need to look at wba and us, no real diffrence in ability between the two sides but wba have them selves a manager who knows the league, knows how to set up a side to defend and attack in this league and most importantly the manager gets across early on this is how you play under me, this is how we score under me and this is how we defend under me. this is the diffrence between us losing 3-1 away to villa and wba leading chelsea away 1-0. every time i watch us i always get the feeling the players run out of ideas every time we pass into the opposition's half.

"started well.. at time we were excellent.. lot of good stuff.. 3rd goal killed us.. we're young ??? we'll work away.. senior players back.. good spells in villa box 36 times.. same as them.. they had 11 shots we had 9!"

what a prick! couldnt believe my ears! all for being positive.. but that's just laughable! but im not laughing! :angry2:

1 more striker and 1 central defender to sign. theyll have to be world class!

Its not 2 games though is it? He should have gone last season, he is incompetent and should be replaced asap.

His interviews are pathetic and i find myself cringing.

Early days of course but after two matches against fairly ordinary opposition we are pointless and already adrift at the bottom. Most could see this happening 9 months ago of course. It's been like watching a car crash in slow motion.

Last season I was angry after defeats, ranting at the game, then ranting some more on here... now I just feel completely resigned to it all.

Never felt like this in all the time I've seen us in the top flight. :(

Agree with both of these. Resigned is the word - it's awful to watch. Haven't been on much of late this is very hard to stomach. Everything about the club is rotten.

The owners haven't a clue.

The manager is dreadful.

We have some of the worst players in the premiership starting regularly.

We're clearly at odds with some of our better players.

Our transfer signings have been unspectacular to say the least.

There's too much pressure been placed on our promising youngsters.

Wolves and Villa aren't that good, yet we've been deservedly beaten in both. Given the way the club is I can't see anyone inside the club rescuing us, nor anyone wanting to come in and save us either.

On the positive side there is still a lot of time to turn things round. If the owners were to act, and act well, it's not a hopeless situation. Don't have much hope of this though.

It's not about sacking him after 2 games Rev, as you state, its his overall record 23 games 22 points?

You,me and the cat next door know he's not up to it.

Point taken SG but if he was going to be sacked it should have been done at the end of last season.

I don't see he will be sacked at this precise moment in time ten days before the transfer window is due to close with us urgently needing to bring in reinforcements. Nor am I certain its the right thing to do.

If we could guarantee to be able to bring in Mark Hughes or Martin O Neill within the next 48 hours obviously I'd have a different point of view.

i agree with that, rev. but he's making himself look more and more ridiculous! that said, i dont condone a lot of the animosity... or take part in it!

i'll continue to support the players vocally... come what may! i fear a bad result next weekend.. in more ways that 1!

As I posted in the Kean thread, in the press box today, Rovers were being treated as a total and utter joke club, it is such a shame that our once proud club has been reduced to such ridicule.

That will keep happening until we get in a manager who has respect that has been earned by getting results or by standing up to the owners. Our owners whilst improving slowly have shown their complete naivity and must take a beat seat and let the directors run the club like before. Kean must have played 442 to try and impress our owners as they were there, because playing that formation with our depleted defence that needs all the help it can get, especially away from home shows kean is pandering to them and thatd why our club is a joke and has no respect.

Kean's win percentage whilst at the club now stands at a meagre 21%. Worringly, Ince's 28% win rate is now starting to look impressive in comparison to Kean's reign at the club.

The time surely has come for fans to become vocal at our next homegame, as to how they feel, considering Ince recieved worst, with what is now a more respectable record.
