Amo Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I think it's poor that the website hasn't even made reference to him yet from what I've seen Well, they needed reminding about Jack's anniversary, didn't they?
Backroom Tom Posted August 26, 2011 Author Backroom Posted August 26, 2011 Officially signed and into the squad tomorrow. He will have number 29 and have 'Simon' on his back. Suprised the FA are allowing him and Bruno to do that
BiggusLaddus Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 They did allow Juninho as well. Perhaps we were short on V's.
Amo Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 He will have number 29 and have 'Simon' on his back. I TOLD YOU.
chaddyrovers Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Welcome to rovers Simon Vukcevic. Hope you are a very good player for us1
Hughesy Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Yes!!! Welcome and can't wait to see him in action, hopefully tomorrow
Amo Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Simon signs on So the Dole are paying his wages? My, my this is a coup!
FGS5635 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Simon signs on So the Dole are paying his wages? My, my this is a coup! Foreigner comes into this country, goverment pay his wages....yup seems about right
Emge Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Finally! A bit strange though to be given number 29, is it not? Not that it matters really, but common, a lot of "attractive" numbers available at the moment.. Maybe it was his choice:O
Sverre Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Finally! A bit strange though to be given number 29, is it not? Not that it matters really, but common, a lot of "attractive" numbers available at the moment.. Maybe it was his choice:O He has previously worn number 77 either at international level or at sporting, so I wouldn't be that surprised if he chose number 29.
Iceman Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Yes!!! Welcome and can't wait to see him in action, hopefully tomorrow Give it a few weeks Chris, or a few months before he starts.
donnermeat Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 So this is why they sold Niko! Can't have a Serbian or a Montenegrin in the same team as a Croatian! Either that or they would kick lumps out of each other in training. /sarcasm

joey_big_nose Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 looking forward to seeing what this fellow can do on one wing with hoilett on the other.... could be great stuff!
Hughesy Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 looking forward to seeing what this fellow can do on one wing with hoilett on the other.... could be great stuff! Me too - especially if they keep swapping over to cut inside or go outside
Backroom Tom Posted August 27, 2011 Author Backroom Posted August 27, 2011 Am I right thinking Vukcevic is a set piece specialist? We need an alternative to Pedersen and although Formica and Rochina can take them they don't seem to get the chance.
roverandout Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 do people think he will be involved against everton today?
bazza Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 He was introduced at half time today. I hope if he has "Simon" on his shirt, it doesn't bring him the bad luck that "Gamst" did for Pedersen.
Stuart Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 He was introduced at half time today. I hope if he has "Simon" on his shirt, it doesn't bring him the bad luck that "Gamst" did for Pedersen. Gamst isn't his first name! Anyway, I think Peds thought "Gamst" was bad luck. It turns out he was just on the turn. It's not like his form recovered following his Pedersen re-birth.
grizfoot Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Very enthusiastic clapping and scarf waving from him today. Nice to see.
Stuart Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 As daft as it sounds (when you are looking for any positive sign to cling on to) I did think he looked confident and assured. I hope that's what he is like on the ball!
roverandout Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 i was having a drink at halftime, missed it, i was too busy drowning my sorrows.
Sverre Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Where do you guys see Simon Vukcevic being used ? On paper he should start every match, be it in a 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 formation. Is he a replacement for Emerton on the right wing? Or would he be used on the left wing? With Dann in, Givet could be used as a LB and Olsson pushed up to the left wing... So probably right wing?
