The Rover of Finland Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Where do you guys see Simon Vukcevic being used ? On paper he should start every match, be it in a 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 formation. Is he a replacement for Emerton on the right wing? Or would he be used on the left wing? With Dann in, Givet could be used as a LB and Olsson pushed up to the left wing... So probably right wing? Been wondering the same. No idea does he have pace or not. Got a feeling he is more like 5 man midfielder.

If you assume Hoilett plays behind the striker then that leaves no room for Formica. I think Olsson will stay at left back, with Givet dropping to the bench.

Vukcevic will play on the right I think, with Hoilett on the left, and one of Formica or Rochina playing in the hole. Not a bad set of game changing players.... I just hope it is defensively strong enough. Olsson will play LB I think.

The jury's still out on Olsson at left-back. I'd be tempted to reinstall Givet there to shore things up.

Unless Givet can play right back but someone else metioned that, I have no idea.
Josh Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Starting against Wales which kicks off in a few minutes, I'll be flicking through England and this to see how he does
imy9 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 20 seconds and what a through ball! About 12th minute another excellent through ball, he looks a class above what we have worth regards vision and ball control.
Ricky Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Should we ask why he's got a black eye lol. Did he look at dunnys pie???

Josh Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 You need a multiscreen lounge Now that's just showing off
imy9 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 All left foot and a couple of really good dribbles in tight situations. His teams defence looks very average.
pontyrover Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Vukcevic has looked very decent, fair amount of pace on him and what looks like a quality left foot. Montenegro just pulled one back and although I'd love to see our Simon get on the scoresheet would love to see Wales hang on!
OZTHEMAN Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Last night after watching the Wales game and having a general focus on one player alone this is what I made of SIMON VUCKEVIC.. 1 Passing was good, in two instances excellent..I liked the way he kept hold of the ball with out giving it away in tight corners.. 2 Dribbling was also average to good BUT this is when he could be bothered.. needed him to carry the ball a lot more.. 3 Shooting four shots two off target two on.. Instead of trying to place the first one he should have hit it harder and scored but there was the good dribble and shoot which was decently saved.. needs to improve here.. 4 Work rate was also decent nothing very good closed people down when needed to.. Will need to increase this part of his game to be a genuine success in the EPL.. 5 Positional sense was very good stuck to his place and rarely drifted from his position.. 6 Tackling poor he rarely put a tackle in and when he did he got booked for it on Bellamy.. He looks like a decent acquisition but will almost definitely have to get used to the pace of the EPL to do this I think he will need to increase his running.. He reminds me of EHD, nice touches, getting out of corners with players surrounding him, can play on either wing, but with less running and more shooting that can be a positive thing, you can't score without shooting, or negative, needs to become more of a team player which has been the crux of his problems at other clubs!!He did make two defence cutting passes from deeper which were excellent.. I wish him all the best for BRFC.. Please remember this is what I thought..of course you will have a different opinion.
joey_big_nose Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Where did he play for Montenegro? Left wing/right wing/second striker?

Good description from what I saw, he also looked like he was useful in dead ball positions. It will be interesting to see whether he is first choice for corners and free-kicks ousting MGP. I hope he can take penalties ......
Blue n White Rover Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I thought he looked very good when he came on for his little cameo yesterday. Has a few tricks up his sleeve, looks up to pace with the league and is a very busy player. Involved defensively as well as an attacking threat. Looking forward to seeing more from this lad soon.
chris Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I have to admit when I saw Simon I was thinking who that player trying that trick in his own half when we only have 5 minutes left. Thought a couple of things he did was a little dangerous at that point in the game, but he also did a few things that we good and held the ball well. good luck to him, we'll see.
perthblue02 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 He didn't seem afraid to get stuck in to a tackle either, which is what we have been severely lacking
Hughesy Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Agreed Perth he seemed to have the bit of bite in him which made him battle away, I like that in a player. He will be a good signing im sure. Hope he gets a chance in the cup on tuesday!
