adopted scouser Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 cant bring myself to watch it with 5ft tom cruise playing 6ft 5 jack. Can't be arsed that it's "not like the books", it's a great film that had me on edge. Cracking one liners, the delicious Rosamund Pike and Werner Herzog with no fingers, fabulous Quote

Mc Love Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Is it better (worth it) to see new Iron Man movie in 3d? Quote
ABBEY Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 Just watched one of the worst films I've EVER seen .. The Host .. Got conned , got told it was a horror film . It's like f twilight . Quote
adopted scouser Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Watch the new Star Trek, outrageously brilliant Quote
adopted scouser Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Went to check out another Cinema on a mystery shopper type thing, and bought a ticket for 'Populaire', what a treat ! A french film (english subs) set in the 1950's about speed typing. And it was .. Brilliant Quote
Stuart Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) Best French film I've seen in recent memory is The Intouchables. Brilliant, and laugh out loud funny. Surprised me really. Edited June 11, 2013 by Stuart Quote
ABBEY Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 I saw 3 of the worst films I've ever seen at the weekend ... Stranded , frozen and 41 year old virgin ( 10mins) . Quote
Guest Norbert Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Had a look at the titles, was one a space film with Christian Slater, one a few people on a skilift (made mr think of an episode of Bottom), and the last one this film? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1498870/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 None of those sound promising I have to say. Paul Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 (edited) Ah Frozen. I still feel bitter about the two hours of life I wasted watching that rubbish. This film is so bad yo have to keep watching in case it gets worse. Absolute nonsense. Can't remember seeing a worse film. Edited June 13, 2013 by Paul Quote
Cocker Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Going to watch this tomorrow - cant wait:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwYatpwrs8s&feature=player_embedded Quote
Paul Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Not a movie but in a cinema. Went to watch the NT Live stream of Helen Mirren in The Audience. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant and so very funny. The NT Live streams are great value, £12 to watch a performance that would be £100+ in the West End. If you like theatre do go. Google NT Live for details. Quote

T.J.Newton Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Man of steel getting luke warm reviews/ratings, which is actually a good sign that will be very good in my experience(mixed reviews normaply means it doesnt pander to the masses too much) Quote
T.J.Newton Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) I went to watch man of steel this morning, I really liked it, but it wont be for everyone, think Terrance Mallick and Michael Bays lovechild(with Chris Nolan as the surrogate host!) probably the 2nd best superhero movie i've seen(and ive seen most) after the dark knight. I didn't bother with 3d and I wouldn't advise anybody to see it in 3d(as its just a post conversion) it looked stunning In two'd!(as Kermode would say) Edited June 15, 2013 by T.J.Newton Quote

It wont be liked by some because it doesnt have a character that smiles and winks at the camera. Quote

However it was good, much more like the cartoons and the comic and ten times better than the last one. Quote
ABBEY Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 We got given a pen drive over the weekend and it had .. The next 3 days on ( I think it was ) a Russell Crowe movie , I hadn't heard of it or know whether its old or new . What a good film it was . Quote
adopted scouser Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Man of Steel is just bloody silly. Morpheus is a fat get, Zod is no Terence Stamp, Russell Crowe's ghost can communicate and control a ship ? Shameless echoes of 9/11 and too much CGI. @#/?, give me Ned Beatty anyday Quote
Backroom Tom Posted July 7, 2013 Backroom Posted July 7, 2013 Went with the family to watch Despicable Me 2 on Friday, loved it, the minions have to be the funniest sidekick characters in a long time. It's hardly surprising they are getting a spin off It looks like most summer blockbusters are bombing this year, after earth, White House down and the Lone Ranger all pulling in low numbers in America. Planes is out next month and may be bad but will draw in millions upon millions for Disney, the stores are already stocking toy planes and all sorts and the cars franchise is a behemoth Quote
adopted scouser Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 (edited) Can't see anything decent till Smaug in December Edited July 8, 2013 by adopted scouser Quote
Backroom Tom Posted July 19, 2013 Backroom Posted July 19, 2013 Saw Monsters University today and thought it was great It could have been a story by numbers but a lot of cliches were swerved, some great gags and nods to the original as well Quote
roverandout Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 anyone seen gangster squad? got some bad reviews but I thought it was pretty good Quote
