Guest Norbert Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Watched Law Abiding Citizen a few days ago. Violent, entertaining nonsense. Quote
roverandout Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I watched it too, seen it before, was on film4 I think, I then bought on google play Quote
T.J.Newton Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) I watched Wolf of Wall street tonight, it kept me entertained for the first 2 hours(in which it played out almost like a comedy) but I lost interest in the final hour when it tried to get serious, I just couldn't have cared less. old darwen blue Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 ODB, 7 in April, that's the one Nope sorry pal I still don't understand. Quote
Stuart Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 ODB. Think about your original comment about the smaug film... Quote
Adam C Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Hmm I wish you hadn't said that TJ... I watched the first 90 minutes and then had to go and was planning to watch the second half this week. The first half was much better than I thought it would be, Jonah Hill was very good in it. Quote
T.J.Newton Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Sorry, I havent given any plot details away and it is only my opion(many people think the film is great whole the way through) Quote
Adam C Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Na you're alright mate I was kidding. I couldn't believe how good it was so I guess it stands to reason that it might go downhill in the second half. I found a similar experience when watching Hancock - brilliant first half and then it goes to hell fast. Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted April 1, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted April 1, 2014 Loved Wolf of Wall Street all the way through tbh, one of the best films I've seen in ages. To each their own... 1 Quote
RoyRover Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I've seen a number of movies over the last few weeks, some of them very good, some decent and some poor. I saw the new Tom Hardy film Locke last night and thought it was excellent. I downloaded the new Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet movie Labor Day on Saturday and really enjoyed it. I went to The Raid 2 last week and loved it. Extremely violent, even compared to The Raid, but it's a great follow up. Other films that I've seen over the last few months and would recommend include Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Grand Budapest Hotel, All Is Lost, The Hunt, 300: Rise Of An Empire, Lone Survivor, Dallas Buyers Club, Inside Llewyn Davis, Wolf Of Wall Street, Out Of The Furnace, 12 Years A Slave and Seven Psycopaths. I also saw Her, American Hustle and Blue Caprice, but was disappointed with them. Quote
Guest Norbert Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Her=Electric dreams without the Phil Oakey song. Quote
Neil Weaver Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Her - is that the one where Scarlet Johansson is the voice of the computer? Went to see Under The Skin (with Ms Johansson) the other week, only go and see it if you're into films where all you're given is a totally blank canvas, like 2001 but even more so. Some folk will think it's a work of genius, some will think it's two hours of their life they'll never get back. Quote

ABBEY Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 Just watched .. Grudge Match Cheesy n funny . Brilliant Oh and she's 60 now but I would still smash Kim basinger Quote
RoyRover Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 American hustle was good I thought it was a bit of a mish mash and couldn't work out what type of movie it was. I was expecting it to be great because of all the acclaim that was going with it, but was disappointed. Quote
Biddy Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I watched the "new" Robocop last night and actually really enjoyed it. Thought there was no chance I'd like it after the adverts and the fact I love the original but this was very well done and not a bad story. The only bit I have issues with is why he would suddenly go after the owner of omcicorp, it really didn't have the feeling of him being a bid bad like Dick Jones in the original. Quote
Guest Norbert Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Finally got round to watching The Dark Knight (I know), and I really liked it. I'll watch the one with Bane in a few years time......................Also watched The Lives of Others and Downfall again. Both great films. Not sure which DVD I'll watch tonight, but it might be The Sting. Quote
Backroom Tom Posted May 5, 2014 Backroom Posted May 5, 2014 Watched 'The Worlds end' last night and really enjoyed it On the flip side I watched a film called the devils pass a few weeks back about some people following the footsteps and making a documentary about the Dylatlov Pass incident; decent for the first half then truly awful after that Quote
donnermeat Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I watched Eraserhead a few days ago and I'm still not sure what it means in all honesty. I don't even know if I WANT to know what it means yet. 1 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted May 9, 2014 Backroom Posted May 9, 2014 Finally watched Martyrs - absolutely brutal but with a story to take it away from the usual 'torture porn' Hard to watch but a good film Quote
donnermeat Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Dallas Buyers Club is good, Amazing Spider-Man not so much for me. Best parts were some of the one liners he came up with, that's about it. Then again maybe that is because I'm sick of the plethora of superhero films that are invading our screens nowadays, I'm sick to the back teeth of them. They don't impress me anymore and it's too hard to keep track of them all. Quote
