Nah 3 is the worst one I feel. Mr T just doesnt cut the mustard. As films go the original is probably the best, but for cheesy entertainment Rocky IV is best.

My favs to watch in order are:-

IV , I , RB , II , III ................................................................. V

Posted

V never happened, they only made 4 before the latest one.

III was the best. "Come on over to my place and I'll show you a real man!"

I saw apocalypto recently, man what a weird movie, great though i could watch it again.

Also saw Casino Royale, loved the onscreeen chemistry with bond and yer one from the treasury. Really well made and really like the new bond

Oh no, I have just seen an advert for GOAL II.

It just looks like a load of camios have been made by the real madrid team - will be an awful film

Alan Shearers acting in the first was first class :D

Why are they bothering to make those films? Football movies can only ever be rubbish.

To be fair though, when I finished watching Goal (the first one) I turned to the Mrs and said what a pile of poo it was however, she tells me that she really liked it  Guess it must be the eye candy for her.

Maybe Goal 3 could star Ian Pearce then Hannah might enjoy it :P

I rented severance last night on dvd.

danny dyer is excellent and for a low budget film i thought it was excellent if you enjoy comedy/horror films.

Its meant to be like Sean of the Dead isnt it?

kind of, though very low budget.

a sales team from a national weapons company Palisade Defense go on a team building adventure in the eastern Europe mountains where they stay in a lodge and it all goes wrong from there really, don't want to say to much as it may ruin it for you if you decide to watch it.

it's full of laughs and horror, the story line is very predictable though but i still found it an enjoyable watch.

yeah that was funny, i thought along with danny dyer the fat bloke who lost his leg in the animal trap was hilarious too.

I've seen it before, and it's not abad movie, It's realistic and down to earth.

Well you've put me off Abbey. I've seen one of the Scary Movies (I can't remember which) and it was total sh_t. It horrifies me to think it's done by the same people who did Police Squad, Naked Gun and Airplane (the Zuker brothers).

From the trailer it does look like one of the most awful sins ever commited to film. I don't know who the people are who find taking a scene from an exisiting movie and adding a fart joke or someone walking into a pole hilarious, but they have my sympathies.

My friends and I have been watching the first five these last few weeks. We intend to follow the fifth with a victory run up out university hill and the steps that top it.

Hoodies tucked into joggers and everything!

What's that? No, I'm not sad ;)

I'm ashamed to say that I'd only seen Rocky before last week. Having caught the bug, I promptly bought the anthology on eBay (seemingy it's sold out everywhere else). I've just finished Rocky III and I have to say they've been brilliant so far-completely without pretension. Rocky himself is an almost flawless character dragged down only by the cruelty and cynicism of the real world.

Seems unlike you to like such mainstream popcorn films, Rovermatt.

I could understand it maybe if Rocky read out some poetry after his wins, and the films encapsulated socialist philosophy. :-)

Don't watch Rocky 5. It's sh ... ocking.

Eh? Most of the films I watch are mainstream.

I watched V last night as it happens. You're right, it's @#/?. Rocky is clearly the best of them but Rocky III is fantastically OTT and the second is a touching, almost innocent sophomore effort. The final entries are preposterous and overblown in equal measures. Only the character of Rocky himself saves them from total oblivion.

Was discussing Days of Thunder with a co-worker. He was saying it was a great movie. I think it's a crappy movie - one of the worst ever - but I have to watch it every time it comes on, because it is damn entertaining.
