1864roverite Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I wasnt too impressed withe the latest Bond offering. What makes it lacklustre is the missing gadgets and Bondlike humour and whats is all that about with only 1 woman dying ??? Quote
Billy Castell Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 There is talk that Will Smith and Steven Spielberg might make a US version of crazy Korean kidnap film Oldboy. I think President-elect Obama should move to stop this as it'll suck so much it hurts. Quote
Rovermatt Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I'm not really that big a fan of the series but this looks pretty exciting. Quote
adopted scouser Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I'm not really that big a fan of the series but this looks pretty exciting. Absolute Heaven Quote
tony gale's mic Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Saw the new Bond a couple of weeks back, it's pretty average stuff. A load of action scenes tacked together with a weak storyline which moves far too quick. Not a patch on Casino Royale IMO. Quote

I saw it over here a couple of weeks ago. I think its a great Movie, both DiCaprio and Crowe are excellent. But i think Mark strong (here on imdb) steals the show as Hani the head of Jordanian intelligence. Not Ridley Scotts finest hour but very enjoyable all the same Overall 8/10 for me. Quote
broadsword Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Saw the new Bond a couple of weeks back, it's pretty average stuff. A load of action scenes tacked together with a weak storyline which moves far too quick. Not a patch on Casino Royale IMO. That one where they're dangling around on ropes, that got on my nerves. So contrived. And not at all exciting. Couple of action scenes ripped straight off from Bourne. I'd give it a 6/10 overall, whereas Casino Royale got 10/10. Too revisionist, too un-involving. Quote

If someone should make an American version (why would they? it's there for anyone to see as it is!) the director should be Quentin Tarantino. Quote
Ozz Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I watched Dead Mans Shoes last night, one of Shane Meadows earlier films. Absolutely gripping, terrifying and brilliant. Cost £1.99 from Oxfam too. Quote
Rovermatt Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 I watched Dead Mans Shoes last night, one of Shane Meadows earlier films. Absolutely gripping, terrifying and brilliant. Cost £1.99 from Oxfam too. That was only made in 2004. Quote

Rovermatt Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I know that clown McG is in charge of it but here's the new trailer for Terminator 4. It could be pretty good. Quote
broadsword Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Saw Hancock last night, was in hysterics. funniest film I've seen since "In Bruges". Quote
Presty On Tour Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 terminator salvation (T4) trailer Looks good, has to be better than T3 anyway. Shame Arnie isn't in it yet though there is rumor of an appearance. Quote
Rovermatt Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Aside from 3:10 To Yuma. Anyway, I'm just back from The Day The Earth Stood Still...MEH. Quote
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 It's not the same without Arnie. Quote
Billy Castell Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Terminator is going the same way as all those 80's horror films like Hellraiser and Nightmare on Elm Street. A good, but dated original being swamped by 200 increasingly rubbish sequels, spin off TV shows and so on. Quote

Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I saw a few films over christmas: Bad Santa - Drunk/BBW loving/Robbing Santa - Pretty funny Cass - Based on Cass' life story who was involved in a WHU hooligan firm - Alright, nothing special Zack and Mirri: Make a Porno - As it says on the tin - Some funny bits but it is a pretty poor film.
