Biddy Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Watched Transformers last night and what a good film it is too. Wasn't too keen on some of the deceptacons but I suppose that's the point. Some humour I thought was mis-placed but overall I really enjoyed it. Quote

Rovermatt Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 (edited) Just back from Transformers. It's absolutely stonking blockbuster entertainment, a must-see for kids and adults alike. In addition to the absolutely jaw-dropping visuals there are myriad jokes that keep the tone very tongue in cheek. Edited July 21, 2007 by Rovermatt Quote
Flopsy Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Ah but have they done the theme music like the cartoon? These things are important. Anyone watched/heard anything about the Simpsons other than the prerelease guff? Quote
Biddy Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Ah but have they done the theme music like the cartoon? These things are important. No, but they do have the same sound effect when they transform. As you say these things are important. Quote
Nelsta Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Same here i watched Transofrmers. And bloody loved it.The scene with Starscream chasing planes and transforming to and from plane to robot was ace. Cant wait to see this no IMAX Quote
broadsword Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Bah! Not m,y sort of thing at all. Got Bad Day at Black Rock and The Narrow Margin on DVD recently, proper old-time movies with decent rucking in. Can't beat it. Quote

Dan Furness Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Have heard that Transformers 2 has been given the green light for production! hence the ending..... Quote
Ronin Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 True. Plus the cash it's made at the box office. Quote
Biddy Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 True. Plus the cash it's made at the box office. And I wil be buying it on HD when it comes out in December. That should look stunning. Quote
Tango Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 I too watched Transformers at the weekend and thought it was absolutely superb! Kept me grinning throughout the whole thing, both with it's wit and it's general metal-grinding, CGI brilliance! One of those films you come out of the cinema thinking "I can't wait to see that again". Quote
Biddy Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Simpsons Movie, really not worthy of a movie. It's OK, decent enough it were for TV but going to the cinema for it, I think not. Quote
Paul Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Anyone watched/heard anything about the Simpsons other than the prerelease guff? It's just like getting a DVD and watching 5-6 episodes back to back. Nothing wrong with it but no better or worse than TV. Certainly not worthy of the pre-relaeas hype. Made me laugh and the kids enjoyed it - don't leave the moment the credits start to role. Quote
adopted scouser Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Just back from Transformers. It's absolutely stonking blockbuster entertainment, a must-see for kids and adults alike. In addition to the absolutely jaw-dropping visuals there are myriad jokes that keep the tone very tongue in cheek. Very disappointing. It starts off with clever gags, smart effects and the general feel of the first 'blockbuster' of the year, and then downhill here we go. Toward the end there was so much going on onscreen I couldn't keep track of it, like being in a washing machine full of nuts and bolts Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Simpsons Movie, really not worthy of a movie. It's OK, decent enough it were for TV but going to the cinema for it, I think not. Yep - very much like watching an extended episode of the later series. The show has lost it's way - not even in Family Guy's league. Quote
Rovermatt Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 (edited) I'm very excited about , albeit the trailer gives nothing away. Edited July 30, 2007 by Rovermatt Quote

mike at picture Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...ry+of+a+bad+lad Appologies if this has already been discussed on here but does anybody know anything about this? Quote
Rovermatt Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 (edited) The Bourne Ultimatum-crap apparently. Oh and check out this sweet one-sheet. Edited August 2, 2007 by Rovermatt Quote
Billy Castell Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I thought Ray Winstone was really good at that role on TV. Can't see Johnny and Tim pulling it off. Tim Roth or John Malcovich would have been a better bet. Quote
American Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 The review I read on the latest Bourne movie is that it is great and surpasses Casino Royale. Quote
