Billy Castell Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 just seen Wanted. My Fiancee wanted to see it and I thought it would be utter crap after seing the trailer. It was actually not bad. It was big, violent and stupid, and didn't try that hard to be cool. Still, for big loud dumb films you can't beat Face/Off and The Rock. The trailers for the new Mummy film looked good, as did Hellboy II. The latest Pixar effort Wall.E looked a bit rubbish if you're older than 7 though. Quote
Rovermatt Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 It's had almost wholly glowing reviews. Including five stars from Empire. Quote
Billy Castell Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Which film was that, Wall.E? It just looked naff, although visually it was on form. My favourite Pixar film was The Incredibles. Quote
Rovermatt Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Yeah Wall.E. I have to say The Incredibles is up there for me as well. Quote
FourLaneBlue Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Hancock, 1/10 Avoid. Should have taken your advice. Poor film. Quote
Rovermatt Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Having already watched it on 'tinternet I went to see The Mist on the big screen last night. Fantastic film and in fact a lot darker than the book in many ways. Quote
rebelmswar Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Having already watched it on 'tinternet I went to see The Mist on the big screen last night. Fantastic film and in fact a lot darker than the book in many ways. To say the least!! Stephen King pulled a right twist to his short story on that one. Worth watching. Quote

Flopsy Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I have just seen the latest trailer for the new Batman - dam it looks good. I dont go to the pictures much but may well do for this one. If you can go see it in the IMAX, its supposed to be "oh I need new pants" good Quote
Cocker Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 If you can go see it in the IMAX, its supposed to be "oh I need new pants" good I know I am going to sound like a complete fool here but anyway - what is an IMAX cinema? I ask because the one we have here on the Isle of Man is like the old one that used to be in Blackburn near M&S and so not great. Quote
Flopsy Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 What is IMAX I doubt they'll ahve one in the IoM considering they've only just got electricity Quote
Cocker Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 What is IMAX I doubt they'll ahve one in the IoM considering they've only just got electricity Ah very good. Does anyone know if that cinema in the printworks in Manchester is one of these? Quote
adopted scouser Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Ah very good. Does anyone know if that cinema in the printworks in Manchester is one of these? Yup, they have Imax. Quote
Cocker Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Yup, they have Imax. Nice one. I normally stay in Manchester the night before Rovers games so will have to make sure I take a film in while I am there. Quote
adopted scouser Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Can't wait for 'The Dark Knight', curious as to whether they were going down the old Jack Napier.. Axis Chemicals .. Surgeon .. Joker etc I phoned a mate who's seen it at an industry screening last week. Apparently he arrives in Gotham already in his present state, only to make occasional sarcy/comic comments on why he looks the way he does. Two other comments were offered - he couldn't believe it's only a 12a certificate, and it's the best Batman of all. (Just short of a three hour sitting - take a cushion) Quote
rebelmswar Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Just to get you all in the mood for Dark Knight. Batman Deadend One of the finest fan films of all time. Quote
rebelmswar Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 WATCHMEN! Just saw the preview before Dark Knight, superb looking movie. Dark Knight.... you have to watch this movie!! Joker has never been better, the actor could not have went out with a better bang. Four stars easy. Quote

rebelmswar Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Anybody seen the Dark Knight yet? Yes it was fantastic, couldnt believe over 2 1/2 hours had passed. I have never been so creeped out by a performance ever. The magic trick part was especially enjoyable. I'm hoping to go see them sometime this week. You should go now. Quote
