Saw Leon this weekend - brilliantly acted film. Up to 42 of the IMDB top 50 with Shawshank to be watched in the next few weeks.

Agree, Leon and Shawshank are unbelievable, they are must watch films.

Am I the only person in the world though who still hasn't seen or have no intention of seeing, 'The Titanic'?

Has anyone been watching The Pacific on Sky Movies, the Tom hanks WW2 series? I've been recording it, but never had time to watch any yet. My hard drives nearly full now so I need to make an executive decision on whether to bother or not.

Watch it, its a great series.

I've been to the cinema to watch it with the ex-wife (whilst courting), didn't see it all though fell asleep after 15 minutes, it was not my cup of tea. But if you don't oarticulary like Leo, at least you get to watch him drown!!

I may have to hand in my man card but I still think Titanic is a great film, it surprised me how much I liked it.

Has any one seen the new Robin Hood film yet?

Watched it last night and was quiet surprised by all the plot changes, especially the one surrounding King Richard. I always thought he was Robin of loxly, not some impersonator. Having said that Blanchet was good, but can't really say I took to Russell as Robin.

I just don't get my head round why Hollywood constantly feels the need to rip the heart out of stories.

Have to say I did find the boats used by the frogs (where did they come from?) quiet funny as they looked like wooden versions of the ones used in the pacicfic.

I expect Dracula or Romeo and Juliet have been remade more, but you're right. List or Robin Hoods.

Saw Iron Man 2, thought it was pretty good. The final battle scene was a bit short and lacked tension for a superhero film, but I still liked the film.

Trailers that look good: Salt, Grown Ups, A-Team, Holy Rollers and Inception.

Trailers that look awful: Robin Hood, Prince of Persia, Macgruber, Last Airbender, Shrek Forever, Marmaduke, Splice, Toy Story 3.

Robin Hood must surely be one of the most remade films ever?

I know what you mean but the story is completely different from start to finish, I guess I just wasn't expecting it to be so different.

Its a reasonable film, but even after watching it I have to say I preferred "prince of thieves" even with its 2 hours of "bon jovi" like music.

It was good to get a bit more back-ground on the character for what surely will be a sequel in the near future.

I also liked Iron man 2 and your right the final fight scene with whip-lash was short lived. But there was the drones as well. Best scene is when he shows everyone what he does when he needs a pee.

I thought the movie was pretty turgid. I sat there and kept thinking that it was the end – only to be disappointed that it wasn’t. The movie needed Sir Alan to reprise his role as the Sherriff of Nottingham. Didn’t quite know what to make of the whole thing, as I just sat there wanting to be impressed, but felt deflated and slightly robbed when I left.

Having been in one of the modern versions of those LC’s I do feel for the French coming across the channel stuck in one like that. I could not however, get over the fact that they traveled that distance in those flat bottomed boats and arrived at all. The arrows flying into the water ala Saving Private Ryan also amused me.

The growing trend of everything trying to be like the Bourne trilogy is getting tiresome, characters like James Bond need to be suave and slightly corny not menacing and rigid.

Not a massive Russell Crowe fan to be fair, but this seems an attempt to make the character a bit more gritty and menacing, ala The Dark Knight and Casino Royale.

The growing trend of everything trying to be like the Bourne trilogy is getting tiresome, characters like James Bond need to be suave and slightly corny not menacing and rigid.

I thought they were just trying to get back to the orginal character of Bond as was intended in the Fleming novels.

Yeah the Daniel Craig, Bond is actually pretty close to the original character. What is he described as in Casino Royale, a 'cold hearted @#/?'? That sounds about right.

I know what you mean about wanting it to end. I've watched it again just to make sure I hadn't just dismissed it out of hand and realized that some parts I'd assumed had happened hadn't and there were actually scenes explaining things a little more. Doesn't do well for me that my attention has been so poor during a movie that I've missed whole scenes.

Sir Alan would have been awesome as opposed to the weasel that was the sheriff, if he plays a big part in the second inevitable movie I can't see him putting the frighteners up a 5 year let alone Crowe. The arrows were amusing, as was "King John's" haha fooled you (predictable) if he'd really done that he'd never have made out of his chair. Just out of curiosity why were we so keen on getting our liberty??? Was John Locke around in the supposed days of Robin Hood?

The new bonds are alright Craig is far more like Flemings character again. Its a big step in the right direction after the way they took Brosnan into a more star trek type realm. Invisible cars, indeed.

Quantum of Solace works better if you think it's the middle if a trilogy, it's still a mess though

I like Quantum of Solace a lot. It's not Casino Royale but it is far superior to every Brosnan film save GoldenEye

I thought Quantum was a very poor film. Basically no storyline just Bond trawling the globe and killing people before he gets to know any information.

Plus Bond needs gadgets (Although, I agree, not an invisible car!!) and girls. Thats part of the charm of the movie.

Daniel Craig was wooden as well in QoS after being quite likeable in Casino Royale.

In other news

Shrek 4 trailer looks good, hope its a fitting end to a decent franchise. Shrek 1 and 2 are great films.

What is Hot Tub Time Machine like? Looked really funny on the trailers, although I've heard mixed reports.

Personally I thought it was brilliant, but it's not my usual type of film. Crude and stupid. If you can laugh at a full-length, completely serious rendition of a Black Eyed Peas song, I'd say go for it.

I saw Robin Hood last night. Hugely enjoyable stuff and fantastic looking as you would imagine from Ridley Scott.

Saw Four Lions tonight, and really enjoyed it. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting as a couple of the previews I read a while back suggested that the comedy was very disjointed but I think it balanced the comedy and serious elements very well. I won't give too much away in case people are going to see it but the last twenty minutes or so are very surprising and pretty poignant. It's really well acted and I don't think it will offend 99% of people, muslim or otherwise.

On a scale of Morris's ability to shock it was relatively tame and it probably won't receive the cult acclaim that the likes of Brass Eye and The Day Today get but I'd definitely recommend if if you're a fan of his.

For anyone that is interested in Stephen Kings The Dark Tower Series being made into a movie there is actually quite a bit of movement towards this happening.

The first thing to happened was that J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof bought the rights to the series for 19 million dollars and supposedly would begin production after Lost was wound up. After a couple of years looking at the monumental scale of the project they got scared and pulled out.

Ron Howard, with the help of Brian Grazer and Akiva Goldsman, are now, supposedly, going to produce a movie to be released in theaters which will spin off into a T.V. show. Rumor has it that the T.V. show will run around the story of The Drawing of the Three and if popular The Wastelands would return for the big screen. Personally I could see Wizard and Glass being a good T.V. show, nice plot build up and interesting actions sequences.

Potentially good news, as I feel that under Howards direction the project may just be doable. But who the hell could they get to play Roland? Crowe may do the job, but you cannot see him doing a T.V. show.

In other news on this front - King is set to write, this summer, a Dark Tower prequel/sequel which will take place in between Wizard and Glass and The Wolves of the Calla Under the title of The Wind Through the Keyhole this full length book with focus on the lesser characters and tie in some other events from other works.
