Silencio Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 we simply can't afford to be letting players like this go. Emerton should be in for Salgado and would also be a passable cover player for the much missed Jermaine Johnson. Somehow, I don't think Ribeiro is going to be as much like Denis Irwin as our toad of a manager makes out, if he is then why is he not playing?

AndyNeil Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Even though we conceeded the late penalty yesterday, I thought it was pretty poor that most people had left the ground before the whistle and there was only a small percentage of the Rovers fans left as Emerton made his way from the pitch - a sad end to a great professional and servant to the club.
Duffy Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Even though we conceeded the late penalty yesterday, I thought it was pretty poor that most people had left the ground before the whistle and there was only a small percentage of the Rovers fans left as Emerton made his way from the pitch - a sad end to a great professional and servant to the club. It was Emerton I felt most sorry for yesterday, not only did we not get the result he would have wanted but there was all that mixed feelings stuff going on with the fans, people arguing with each other, conceding so late on and losing and I think it all overshadowed what should have been a moment for the fans to stay and give Emerton a final show of appreciation. Still, I can't critisise the reception the fans gave Emerton before and during the match. Sad to see him go, thought he was a great professional, and wish him all the best!
Billy Castell Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 He has a lot to offer the A-League, and I wish him the best.
Hughesy Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 One of the main reasons for Emerton going home is that someone close to him is very ill
Hekla Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 I wish my best luck to Brett, one of my favourite Rovers players over the years and we are losing a great servant and a great professional. He has been here so long that it just doesn't seem right for him to be elsewhere. Good luck back home Brett.
