Gutted. We looked alright there. Knew the hammer blow was coming though.

Formica looked class and we played some nice football, but if you don't take your chances you get punished, which we did. Albeit by a dubious penalty award.

The results maybe don't reflect the performances, but it's a results business and Kean doesn't look like getting them...

Sadly Kean will use the penalties as the only reason why we didn't win, and will take the focus off the fact we played Roberts for 70 minutes who did not a single thing. Goodwillie for more than a half would have scored against that rabble.

Exactly.

It's not the referee's fault we lost.

It's not bad luck.

It's bad management and leadership - a change is absolutely vital for us to have a chance.

Why does he persist in playing Jason Roberts?

Today might not have been his fault (although he was looking on like a helpless passenger at the end), but he is part of the problem, so I'm certainly not going to stick up for him.

August gone, and we have no points. There's every chance here that we could be going down in spectacular fashion.

Roberts must be plugging keans arsehole before each game. It's a disgrace he starts. Our only striker without a goal and he's starting. Erm right o kean.

The team looked good today but we won't come up against much easier this season. I agree we already look like going down in spectacular fashion.

I see the Kean sympathisers are out already.

Let's start with a simple truth: We performed better today.

Let's look at another fact: Everton were AWFUL. We are unlikely to ever see a side that generous again at Ewood Park.

Yet again we have no end product and IT IS Kean's fault that our first choice striker is Jason Roberts. Other than to be a troll, I cannot see why anyone wants to retain him as manager.

It's all well and good for those of you that say that Championship football is okay with you. God only knows why you think that anyway.... For myself and the rest of the USA based fas, relegation means that Rovers disappear completely.

We have now dropped nine out of nine. If you add that to the record he displayed last season, there is no doubt he needs to go. Even if we had a proven manager at this point with this record, the expected outcome would be no difference.

It may already be too late but in keeping Kean, we are going down...for certain.

Get rid, we might have a chance.

No cutting edge and that has cost us.

Penalties aside we had enough chance to win 2 matches. Players will be drained after this.

Fulham away, Arsenal home and Newcastle away to follow - no easy games.

We are in big, big trouble.

I have the feeling that kean is an unlucky manager. Having said that - he does nOt help himself. I watched goodwill, petrovic and rochina be excellent on Wednesday and yet he failedto choose them.

IMO

Rochina for pederson

Goodwill for Roberts

Petrovic for bert

I would still play Dunn over Formica

That would be a good team selection, but lean got it wrong AND he was unlucky with the penalties - dunny would have buried them !

Selection wise lean got it wrong

I am sure most of us could write the post-game comments script for Kean and co now. If I still followed him I'd almost sadistically be looking forward to Roberts silver lining, glass half full comments on Twitter.

The Pro-Venkys/Kean crowd are absent as usual and will appear later in the week to spout the usual drivel. 2 wins in 18 is not acceptable, any other manager would be out of a job. That's the facts, no grey area, it's black and white. If his new signings were so good and were going to help us out this season then at least one of them would have made the starting lineup today, but sadly they're all projects that a team like us can't afford to gamble with right now, and sadly the same bunch of players (most of whom finished top half under previous managers) that finished last season so poorly are the ones starting the game.

I agree with your post, but this bit in particular is the fact - Kean's results are horrendous and I think Torquay or Exeter's manager would struggle to keep their job with a similar set of results over 9 months, never mind a Premier League manager.

Also completely agree with the point above - if we lose when playing well, imagine how we'll fair under Kean when we play poorly...

Upcoming fixtures:

Fulham - AWAY

Arsenal - HOME

Newcastle - AWAY

Man City - HOME

QPR - AWAY

Tottenham - HOME

Norwich - AWAY

I'll be generous - I could see us on a good day getting a win at Norwich, Fulham or QPR. Plus maybe 2 or 3 draws. That would give us 6 points from 10 games by the end of October.

Realistically, however, I do not see us (unless something radical happens) getting a single win out of that lot. Maybe 3 draws. 3 points from 10.

We've played 3 mediocre teams now and have got nothing.

People need to quit sympathizing with kean and get a backbone and see he is ruining our team, he is a horrible manager and we should never have hired him in the first place. Venkys need to get their head out of their ass and remove him now!

Really bad decision for the penalty. If he keeps his job then venkys need to explain why. He has an awful record. Not counting the cup games, we have won 5 since he took over I think he's been in charge for about 30 matches. That is an awful record and its relegation stats. We need to get Hughes or Lambert here. Or just anyone who has got a clue.

How can you blame Kean for missing two penalties????? HOW?

He's not a good manager, but that's not on him surely??!!

No Im not a fan of Kean, he's crap, but seriously, how can anyone seriously blame him for missing two spot kicks? That is not the managers fault.

Why not blame Hoilett, blame Formica?? They missed them, not Kean.

How the hell did we loss this game?

Watching Formica's performance, I wonder how can Kean field Roberts ahead of him? Even though Formica is not an out and out striker, he's still much more dangerous than Roberts on his best day!

Goodwillie though was poor. I think someone has to tell him not to shoot everytime he gets the ball! Quite a number of moves broke down when he shot rather than pass. Similiarly, Holliet was guilty of over-dribbling.

I'm also curious as to when Olsson became our dead ball expert this season. Shouldn't free kicks be taken by someone like Formica who's supposed to a dead ball expert in Argentina?

On the plus side, we looked a lot better in defence with Samba and Givet back.

Hughes or Lambert? I would take Dowie, Brown or Megson in a heartbeat right about now.

There wouldn't have been any penalties for dunn to take today if Formica wasn't on the pitch.
