[Archived] Steve Kean

Glenn

We're now had our worst start since the 1950s, but an improved performance and some bad luck. So how do people feel?

When I arrived at Ewood Park I was dismayed and astonished at our starting line-up, god knows how Rochina, Formica, and Goodwillie felt, what have these lads got to do to get in from the go ? They've played well, scored, and give the team options. Why should we keep Jason Roberts let alone Steve Kean ?

I havn't seen Rochina much but his pedigree suggests that, like Formica, he might be worth the wait. He's come from the Spanish second tier which, I suppose, is similar to the level Goodwillie has just come from.

Formica looks the real deal and will take some dropping. The other 2 lads need patience from the fans which is, unfortunately in short supply.

Right you are Jisty. I want Kean to succeed because he is Rovers manager and for that reason only. I dont like that he's a drink driver.

I, like every other Rovers fan, love Simon Garner to bits. I didn't stop feeling that way about a Rovers legend because he did a bit of bird. Did you?

I'm not sure where this "lying" stuff comes from in regard to Kean's role. Is it something to do with West Ham's manager?

Call me old fashioned but I don't tend to trust people when they are proven liars. I'm even less inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I can't see why you being so obtuse about this, unless you are having a good chuckle at trying to wind people up.

- He is proven, through results, to have no credibility as a football manager.

- He is proven to have no integrity in so much as he lied to the police when questioned about drinking alcohol.

- His own players are denying he made statements about his Champions League ambitions for the which can be proven as fact.

If he told me today was Sunday, I'd ask for a second opinion.

The only reason provided for people wanting him to stay is that there is no one else.

Do you want the manager of your team, or business, to be proven to have no integrity? I don't.

Come on Al! I want him to successfully run my football team. Not set up home, marry and have children with him!

There are some holier than thou posters on here.

The man is a bit of a tool, but lets not start taking the moral high ground. If you want to follow a sport which is played by saints then i suggest something like croquet might be a better option.

Edit; Before i get the usual knee jerk reaction, i wholeheartedly condemn drink driving. But i also know if we were sitting pretty at the top of the PL very few would be making an issue out of his conviction on here

Just back up that he is indeed a liar. Don't expect saints but I do expect to be able to believe what he tells me.

Some people never lie.

Some people never tell the truth.

Kean doesn't appear to know the difference.

I too want to see someone to successfully run my football team. Kean has demonstrated that he is patently incapable of doing that.

I thought about what would be happening if this was going on at a Newcastle or a Liverpool - the fans would have been protesting last season, when the writing was on the wall.

But Rovers fans, barely a grumble.

Maybe we just don't care as much?

Not true. Every club's fans are as passionate as any other.

Blackburn Rovers has been that well run for that long, Rovers fans just don't know how to protest anymore.

'The manager is useless? The club will sort it,' alas times have changed and the fans dont know how to react.

There are plenty of 40 something Rovers fans out there.

As callow youths we vacated the B/Bn End en masse and decamped into the Nuttall Street Enclosure to tell Bill Fox exactly what we thought of him and his running of Rovers.

Maybe we are ******. If my 14 year old is anything to go by Facebook is far more important than anything else.

Kean out!!!

Stuff the transfer window

i was VERY wrong

sorry people for my previous posts on this. we can't carry on with him at the helm can we!!!!-venky's wipe the slate clean admit you were wrong, admit anderson and kean have taken you for mugs (make the details public and go directly to the premiership with ALL the details and ask for special leniency over their actions/and advice to salvage the situation) and offer a sum LARGE sum to somebody (even Tony Parks) to steady the ship. there is no shame in this/no honour lost. more will be lost if you don't act.

i've been a fool to try and defend kean staying...so wrong of me.

Fair play to you. You want the best for the club, so do I. We just need ot face facts with Kean.

Sorry Matt you are right i apologies i just wanted new bodies into the club but this is by far the bigger picture. far more complicated than i'd imagined things have really been put into the public domain to day and it doesn't paint a rosy picture at all.

The Judge told Kean in some detail why he did not believe his story and what he said was beyond credulity.

He told the Police when stopped he had not been drinking then admitted in Court that he had had three alcoholic drinks (LIE 1) then implied that either Sir Alex Ferguson or some Rovers fans had spiked his drink. The judge did the sums based on how much Kean said he had drunk and how much he was over the limit (60 miles and at least 150 minutes after his last drink so plenty of alcohol would have worn off) and told him his story about drinks being spiked was in effect a physical impossibility (LIE 2).

That is why we can call him a liar with impunity.

Surely you wouldn't foist Ince or Jensen on us, FLB.

No, but it's not as if they could be worse than Kean. That in itself is impossible. They could possibly be as bad as Kean, but no more.

I don't think there is much point in me debating with you in that Kean should be given more time. I just think that you are wrong.

He also tried to get Geoff Shreeves from Sky to back up his story in court, Geoff didn't turn up.

Previous to that he said he had nothing to declare at customs in India and got caught with jewelery.

Oh, and he shafted his boss and had his agent say Chelsea wanted him as assistant manager...

SACK KEAN if we must.

But who would takeover ,no independent manager ,unless looking to increase his Air Miles, would even think of it.

Unless the basis of the club is returned to its previous stature,Chairman.ETC , reporting and advising owners not slavishly following ill advised Kentaro greed fuelled logic. Then the future is bleak

Based on what others have said, his information seems a little off.

Just a thought but if Mrs D placed that story in the Mail, I'd guess certain people might be well placed to make certain deals even more difficult for Rovers to complete and a certain journaalist would find out about it.

I must stress that this is entirely hypothetical of course.

Its strange Andy, from what I witnessed in the BBE,folk were more interested in picking an argument with their fellow supporters than directing their angst against the manager!

Where as the Darwen End sang as one about kean having more points than rovers!!

Anyone remember when hundreds of fans steamed out of the BBE terrace and into the Nuttall St Enclosure to call for Bobby Saxton's head back in the 80's.....poor Bobby looked like he was shyting himself at the sight!

Newcastle Liverpool would have prostested against Kean a long time ago but they have higher expectations.

We are a coat hangers in this league, surprised we didn't go down a few years ago with our sell your best players and barely re-invest policy both under Walkers Trust and now it looks likely under Venkys particularly as I thihnk Samba will go and Venkys will have a nice 20-25 profit from this summer.
