Gamst Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Unsurprised to see rumours of Kean's involvement in Venkygate. The hiring of Steve Kean by Sam Allardyce seemed so innocuous at the time. What a terrible decision it has turned out to be. Wonder if this whole situation would have occurred at all if Kean hadn't been hired.

roverandout Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 sorry super arran you are deluded if you think those are valid reasons, we didnt play well against wolves, we were poor, villa beat us comfortably, yes we had a good start against wednesday but after the 3 goals, the game was a non-event and as for saturday, we werent much better than everton, it was an even game, the difference being they can put away their penalties.

Are you being serious?? Not much better than Everton?? The reason we lost against Wolves was because we were missing a defence. I'm guessing you were there and That's why I'm surprised you couldn't see this. Yeh, after the 3 goals against Wednesday the game cooled off. Or did you expect a cricket score and the players to go in to challenges they didn't need to? I'm guessing your one of them people who complained Formica didn't start on Saturday without considering he ran himself ragged on Wednesday? And you called me deluded?? Surprised none of you have tried including Kalinic in to the argument.
Andy Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Don't remember doing a '-1' to be honest Arran, but I don't massively disagree with what you're saying. Maybe it was the 'not a knee-jerk guy' comment - the majority of people against Kean are judging him over 9 months and after he's taken us to our worst run in over 60 years. I think after 30 games and 9 months of pure failure, it's fair to say that it's no knee-jerk reaction!
Mercer Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Thought I'd post this here as well as match thread. Another paper smelling the BS of Kean Guardian report Excellent article. If LT & Radio Lancasshire could adopt a similar approach ..............

If we'd have put the penalties away; then there wouldn't be this thread and I'm guessing most people would be lookin at the result as a turning point. (because despite what roverandout says we dominated the play on Saturday) (please don't reply with if my Aunty was my uncle etc) But we didn't win and we were robbed by a poor refereeing decision. So peoples' frustration boils over and thus fail to see the bigger picture. The blame falls at Keans' feet in their eyes. When in actual fact we've been playing ALOT better recently, and to use a big Sam term "Lady luck has not been on our side" IMO we need a striker who isn't Roberts and we need Samba to stay. With these 2 things in place I believe we'll do alright
beerwins Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I have never heard a manager blame the grass, my mate who is the head greenkeeper at one of the well know courses round here thought it was great, he was planning to use it for a few days off, Ie the grass scared the kids or the grass stole my wallet or even the old favourite, where the hell is my 13 ml spanner.... ahh the grass again! But blaming it on your team losing.................. desperation.
BRFC1995 Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 STEVE KEAN 24 premier league matches in full charge 2 matches have finished 0-0 Of the 22 matches with goals; rovers lead at half time results in a draw twice rovers draw at half time results in a win once rovers lead at half time results in a loss never (i.e 1st halves are everything to us) rovers draw half time and lose full time 9 times (oh dear) rovers lose 1st half and lose at full time 3 times rovers lose 1st half and draw at full time once rovers lose 1st half and win at full time never (no inspiration at half time then) OPPOSITION SCORES MORE GOALS THAN ROVERS IN 2ND 45 MINUTES OF A MATCH 14 times ROVERS SCORE MORE GOALS THAN OPPOSITION IN 2nd 45 MINUTES OF A MATCH 2 TIMES wba in december and blackpool at home in march In 24 matches we have won the 2nd period TWICE seriously what does he do at half time. Mc Love Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 How can people say that the wednesday game was positive?? We played a reserve team from League One, glimpses of how we will play in the future, how the hell is that positive!?!
super_arran Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 How can people say that the wednesday game was positive?? We played a reserve team from League One, glimpses of how we will play in the future, how the hell is that positive!?! Did you see the game? 90mins? Because if you did, you'd realise.
roverandout Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 arran, we were gargabe against wolves, i saw that with my own eyes, we never looked like scoring, bar the goal, against everton, there were spells in the game when they pinned us in our own half, yes we hit the woodwork but they had a gilt edged chance when their player should have scored, i dont think we dominated that game, we played better in the second half but thats all it was, they won, we lost, when the record books come out, thats all it will say, he started roberts up front even though rochina looked lively against wednesday and scored twice, why play these players then in cup games, games where people are looking to prove themselved in the hope they can impress enought to start a league game then get dropped? rochina didnt even get off the bench on saturday, that useless lump starts every match and thats kean's fault, what will it take for you to see kean is a clueless moron? relegation?
LeftWinger Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Has it been mentioned anywhere on here about Jadan Hall suggesting Kean doesn't pick the team on twitter? All his posts were deleted, and he has since apologised - but wondered if anyone saw what was written? http://twitter.com/#!/JadanHall
Mc Love Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Did you see the game? 90mins? Because if you did, you'd realise. Are you for real? Read what I wrote - a reserve team from League One!! Positives = We will do well in the championship/league one Negatives = we will be in the championship/league in the future! Has it been mentioned anywhere on here about Jadan Hall suggesting Kean doesn't pick the team on twitter? All his posts were deleted, and he has since apologised - but wondered if anyone saw what was written? http://twitter.com/#!/JadanHall Yeah he said that the owners pick the team!

So when Hoilett got his shot cleared off the line from a deep Pedersen cross against Wolves, it was nowhere near going in? Don't think we dominated against Everton? Seriously, watch it again without your hate specs, read the stats if that doesn't help (no not the 60 times in the box one) we hit the bar and post, Formica had a "gilt edge" chance too.... Did you actually watch the game or do you close your eyes for large periods of it? Play them players to gain experience and to show they are able. When they do like they did then they will play, hense Goodwillie and Formica playing. But if you think Rochina could play up front on his own then you're mental. The only reason Roberts is playing is because hes the only one able to play in a 451 as a target man. And it almost worked twice in the second half but his technique/skill/lack of ability let him down and he fluffed both chances.

Positives = We will do well in the championship/league one Negatives = we will be in the championship/league in the future! Read what I wrote again. I was praising the way we approached the game in a football sense. It's the potential I was praising not necessarily the win. The future looks bright in a football view. Simplified: Hoofball against a league one side = oh jesus, it was a win but it looks like it's more of the same old tripe again. Nice free flowing football against a league one side = oh I like this! A back heel!!! A back heel at Ewood!! Another!! What's that shape they're passing in? "a triangle" a what? "a triangle" I like that! I'm enjoying watching this.

I'm half expecting this to turn out like an episode of Scooby Doo. In the end, someones going to catch Kean at an abandoned fun fair and pull of his mask to reveal Jerome Anderson.

To be fair, how would a youth team member know? It's fair to say because of his age, he's probably heard something and has taken it as gospel.

I would like to know what Kammy thinks of it, I wonder Seems unlikely but no smoke without fire and there are a lot of fires, most of this is unbelievable. Nothing would surprise me anymore.
Mr. E Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Both of these options are incorrect. The only thing that anyone who has ever given a damn about this football club to do is burn everything to the ground.
Hi Mack Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Out of interest what do people think "us" the fans can do to show our disgust? I'd say something like a walk out after 15 minutes until HT at the next home game......it will get tv coverage and would Require answers from the top......is it too long to wait though? What do others think? I can't just stand by and watch our club be destroyed by scum!
ROVERS Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Steve Kean is a disgrace to all managers in EPL..................
waggy Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 i honestly believe mr kean will never be sacked by venkys,he may resign if the fans threaten him or his family, but he seems very hard faced like most glaswegians.he was the cheep option, just like every thing venkys have done. we lose jones 60k we lose kalinic 30k? we lose emerton 40k then these guys are replace by goodwillie 2k in jockland maybe 10k here prtrovic 2-5k euro in serbia maybe the same in pounds here the guy from lisbon 2-5k euro same here in pounds george john 42$k a year in mls,5k max over here we needed premiership players and venkys shop in the euro pound shop.
