[Archived] Steve Kean

Glenn

We're now had our worst start since the 1950s, but an improved performance and some bad luck. So how do people feel?

I wonder how many computers are in Brockhall? I'm having a hilarious vision of Kean, Anderson and Roberts jumping from terminal to terminal voting to keep Kean, in a pathetic Three Stooges like effort to sway public opinion.

this.

Without meaning to be rude, that's the biggest load of claptrap I have ever heard. You are saying that people don't need outside advice? Professional development? I would suggest that any manager who does not do so is either extremely unique or, more likely, incompetent. We should be having people giving advice constantly. A wise manager then chooses to follow the best advice.

Cannot agree with your stance on that at all.

I'm specifically talking about Management Consultants, of course managers need occasional training, initial tutorship and should consult and take advice from colleagues.

If you are doing your job properly and can prove the methods you use are working efficiently you have nothing to fear. Unfortunately sometimes these consultant guys come up with some completely daft and unworkable suggestions mainly because they themselves have never actually done the jobs they are 'advising' on. A good union rep can usually sort this out without too much trouble.

A good employee will take all the advice he or she can garner from colleagues and management already in the job, for their experience is invaluable.

However, I can't blame the owners either for wanting to get the best out of their employees which is probably all they are trying to ensure.

They can send their threats and deciples, and try and discredit who they want, but as a fan of Blackburn Rovers, I personally will not be abandoning my football team, They know my stance on things and its not me on the ropes

Come on Glen, this is something you must expand on. This sounds abhorant and would be a huge 'Venky turn off' for many fans.

For me, Kean and Venky's run out of time tonight.

I tell you what these management consultants need to do. They need to tell venkys to stop dragging the manager half way accross the globe every month. BUY SOME F'in Video Conferencing equipment

I can see a positive in it -it gets the tool away from the club for a few days.

:D ..They have done well so far and are up to 10%.

Me too, I don't expect anything impressive to happen, we are not too attractive at the bottom of the table.

And there lies the rub, try selling the club to anyone with half a brain at this time.

There's always a positive to be found with Kean be it a shot on goal, flight to India or breath test

When you consider the players we are after today and hopefully sign they are new names as far as I know. Suggests that maybe Keans days are numbered and they could be someone elses targets? If not then rovers days inthis league are numbers because I don't care who we sign this man WILL take this club down to the championship.

It's not worth the bother usually to take you on but what on earth makes you think Samba would make a good manager?

Not the nicest intro but you are right with the first part of your statement. As for your question I will respond with the civility which you don't appear to possess.

1. A hunch.

2. He really has nothing to beat has he? If he were following Hughes or allardyce I'd maybe view the issue a lot differently.

3. We won't attract a replacement for Kean of any quality with the club in it's current predicament regarding clueless owners and unhealthy influence by certain individuals will we?

4. Note I have said that a 'suit' would be needed to work alongside.

5. No coaching badges but that wouldn't be a problem as the Ince debacle illustrated that the authorities and press/media just love the idea of a black guy moving into Premier league management.

If Dann did mention Kean as a reason to sign, it would also suggest he probably wouldn't be sacked anytime soon.

What he MEANT was, he prefers PL wages and some player-favouring contracts clauses.

All will be much clearer soon. In light of the recent revelations and his abysmal record, I can't see any reason why Mrs D would retain his services after Thursday.

If Kean survives the trip to Pune on Thursday then we really are stuck with him.

:brfcsmilie: :brfcsmilie: Kean out :brfcsmilie: :brfcsmilie:

Williams was instructed by her over the phone to sack Allardyce. I'd imagine it will be a repeat of that tactic when the time comes and not a call to visit Pune just to be relieved of his duties.

Just as an aside how many times has Fergy flown across the pond to see the Glasers in the past 6 months? How about Kenny jetting of to the States every 5 mins too to see Henry? It just doesn't happen in a professional set up does it?

Yakubu also said it. I think there may be a bonus system based around how many times you can kiss the managers arse :rover:

Roberts must be quids in :D

Another take on that is Kean, knowing his job is maybe on the line, instructed them to praise him. Kean off to India tomorrow, may needed some good headlines. Wants praise for getting these players to sign - even though it was probable down to the agents currently involved at the club.

But who knows?

Well the clock is ticking down. So to all the "judge on the 1st Sept" brigade, "where are you?" (appologies to Dellia....)

My stance remains the same, Sack him.

bottem line Kean lied in the summer about the budget, very very health, much better then rovers have had in recent times and its minus 8 million selling our top goal scorer and our star player.

I don't know how to divide the desperate want for Blackburn to win and massive desire for Kean to fail and leave.

He's already failing badly, it's the leaving that needs to happen sharpish!

No excuse for Kean now, we potentially have one of the best central defensive pairings around, more options from midfield than we've had for years and two or three new faces up front who should at the very least be no worse than those who have departed.

The squad maybe lacks a bit of depth if we hit a real injury crisis but barring that there's no way that squad should be flirting with relegation imo over the course of a full season.
