Andy Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Well the clock is ticking down. So to all the "judge on the 1st Sept" brigade, "where are you?" (appologies to Dellia....) It'll now be changed to 'let's judge him after Xmas'. Ie - when we're already down

Mattyblue Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 'He needs time to bed in his players FFS'
philipl Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 We are still relegation bound until Kean is sacked.
Billy Castell Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 We have a reasonable squad with regards to relegation, but a complete ____ of a manager. Get rid of him NOW, whatever Dann and Yakubu have said.
Mc Love Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 So the transfer window has closed and we have signed a good few players, namely Dann, Yakubu and Petrovic. We could have done with one more striker, a right back possibly in Onouha, and a midfielder. The question remains now is can Kean influence the players to produce the results to climb further up the table?
John Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Dann talking Kean up big time and said he was fundamtental in his decision to move here. Yakubu also saying he is a great manager. Who said he could not persuade players to come here?
Mc Love Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Dann talking Kean up big time and said he was fundamtental in his decision to move here. Oh jesus the end is nigh!
ABBEY Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 #1 clause in new boys contract , bend over and touch toes whilst the kean brainwashing sponsored by venkys is inserted!
chris Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 don't worry McLovin, Kean probably feed him BS but it will still all come down to results.
John Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 don't worry McLovin, Kean probably feed him BS but it will still all come down to results. If it came down to results, Kean would not be our manager at the moment.
Billy Castell Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I just hope all these glowing words from our new signings isn't persuading the Raos to keep him on for the season.
Backroom DE. Posted September 1, 2011 Backroom Posted September 1, 2011 To be honest I have no idea why the owners feel the need to constantly come out and spout BS, particularly in relation to transfers and budgets. It makes no sense to me. The only explanation I can fathom is that they lie to get the fans "on their side", but surely they must be aware that the chances of them being unable to fulfil these promises are high and as a result when they do fail to deliver the fans will just be even more angry with them? I'm sure we'd all respect them a lot more if they'd just come out and said "look, we don't have millions upon millions to chuck at the club, but we'll reinvest any money we receive and try to add some of our own in where we can". Sure it wouldn't be as 'exciting' but at least we'd know where we stand and wouldn't be disappointed when prophecies of "big names" and "big budgets" don't come to pass.
Wiggy Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 This has got to be a load of PR rubbish. Steve Kean has about the worst managerial record of any Blackburn Rovers manager and one of the worst in Premier League history. To state he is a good manager is nonsense. He patently isn't. However, it's not hard to believe that after all the back slapping and hand shaking amongst various agents, players, backroom staff, hangers on etc., there haven't been quiet words in ears. "Listen Scott, Yak the gaffers under a bit of pressure and is off to meet the owners tomorrow, you couldn't bull him up in the press could you?" After signing a lucrative deal it would be churlish not to, wouldn't it?
Mattyblue Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Have you EVER heard a new signing answer with anything else but something on the lines of 'yeah, he's a good manager'? Neither here nor there.
John Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Have you EVER heard a new signing answer with anything else but something on the lines of 'yeah, he's a good manager'? Neither here nor there. I know but with Kean’s record, he is an exception to the rule!

Balwer Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Quick, forward it to the Raos! think their inbox is full after last week's collective efforts.
pick32 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Think every premier league manager was on SSN yesterday bar Kean. Found this alittle strange as he is normally the first one to talk to the press.
Mc Love Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 don't worry McLovin, Kean probably feed him BS but it will still all come down to results. I know, but its so hard wanting the players the club has bought to do well and for rovers to do well, but also wanting Kean to fail!
Bennisfromheaven Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Think every premier league manager was on SSN yesterday bar Kean. Found this alittle strange as he is normally the first one to talk to the press. At one point after the window closed last night they said they will have Steve Kean on the phone after the break, once they came back they discussed our transfers but there was no call with Kean!!
onlyonejackwalker Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Dann talking Kean up big time and said he was fundamtental in his decision to move here. Yakubu also saying he is a great manager. Who said he could not persuade players to come here? When will people learn to take media soundbites and offerings with a large pinch of salt? Any new employee will of course speak positively about the challenges ahead and people they will be working with. How do these players deduce he is a great manager? Errrr....they haven't, they are just saying what they think people want to here. I don't know who said he could not atract people to the club. But that is not wholly relevant anyway is it? The club is much bigger than Steve Kean and many factors will have contributed to a decision to come with 40+ grand probably high on the list. Attracting a player plying their trade in the Championship last year is hardly an overachievement anyway for an established PL club. As an aside the Yak is nearer to 38 than 28!
Iceman Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 well i for one am glad The Yak said that Kean is great, because that means he will start ahead of Roberts. I just wished Vukcevic, Rochina, Formica and Goodwillie says Kean is a genius, so that they can start ahead of Dunn, Gamst etc

Athlete Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Kean now as a few players in if results don't improve vastly venkys cant have no alternative but to sack the clown
