moerpho Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story/_/id/951387/norman-hubbard:-blackburn-risk-relegation-with-steve-kean-at-helm?cc=5739 interesting article. Good find and a very good article. Let's just hope the V's read it and take action. Despite an ok transferwindow what struck me as a bit special was that whenever Blackburn were mentioned most pundits, both english and abroad, said that despite an ok squad Rovers will fight relegation all season with Steve Kean at the helm. It seems everyone but the owners can see where we are heading with Kean as manager. Here's hoping the V's open their eyes to reality and hopefully before it's too late.

Backroom DE. Posted September 1, 2011 Backroom Posted September 1, 2011 I would respect them only if they told the truth ! "Look, we will chuck none of our own money at the club, but we'll reinvest most of any money we receive without adding any of our own". I'm unsure as to whether that's actually true though. For example some of their own money must have been thrown away on Roque's wages whilst he was here, ditto JJ?

Excellent article. Just about sums up my thoughts. We played well against Everton but only when Dunn and Peds came off injured.

onlyonejackwalker Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Excellent article. Just about sums up my thoughts. We played well against Everton but only when Dunn and Peds came off injured. Yeah, very good article, sums things up nicely for me. Beware the spin!!
BPF Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 The clubs PR have clearly been very busy this morning: Yak and Scott, our fans are pretty gullable at the best of times. For that reason would you mind really talking up Kean's involvement in your signing, he really needs it! Kean is a plague and regardless of signings we are going down with him in charge.

For that reason would you mind really talking up Kean's involvement in your signing, he really needs it! Kean is a cancer and regardless of signings we are going down with him in charge. You really do write some sh1t on here pal. But to describe a human being, in charge of a football team, as a 'cancer' is disgusting, juvenile, thoughtless and I hope other people agree with me and hound you out. Idiot.

Mattyblue Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 To be fair brian, people talk about a 'cancer that needs cutting out' etc etc when talking about certian practices or individuals in all walks of life, bit tasteless but I suppose it works as an analogy. Anyways, that article, being compared to tke likes of Les Reed is about as damning as you can get.

No need for crap like that.
savage90 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Never nice to refer to an individual as a cancer, not the kind of thing you expect to read on a football messageboard. Insensitive choice of word at best. It's no ideal situation at rovers but some people do get carried away.
SouthAussieRover Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 It's just not needed Matty. I know the analogy. I'm not thick. But this is football. No need for crap like that. Agreed Brian. I had a post deleted for jesting about assassinating him along with some others...rightfully so. Posts referring to him as a cancer should be treated the same.

BPF I hope you publish an apology for your comment. We all know what you meant but it was distasteful in the extreme as some of us have had loved ones who have had cancer related deaths.
Brfcrule1 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Does anybody know has SK flown to India for his meeting with Venkys as reported in the press now the transfer window has closed?. Am still hanging onto the hope Mrs D has the b**** to bin Kean.
RoverInverness Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Agreed Brian. I had a post deleted for jesting about assassinating him along with some others...rightfully so. Posts referring to him as a cancer should be treated the same. IF - and I really do mean IF - the allegations regarding Kean's involvement with Venky's prior to the takeover are true, then BPF's 'cancer' analogy is absolutely spot on. If the widely circulated rumours are not true, and he never stabbed Sam in the back, and Neil McDonald's surprise sacking was caused by something that is yet undiscovered, then fair enough he is not a 'cancer', merely an incompetent turd.
thenonda Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I think we all tnow what BPF meant and it's pretty sad that people are rounding on him. Petty.....
Roost Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I think we all tnow what BPF meant and it's pretty sad that people are rounding on him. Petty..... Couldnt agree more. For Gods sake, even the PM was on tv a couple of weeks ago calling the rioting youth 'a cancer that needs to be cut out of society' Jesus........ Some people.
BPF Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I see that the mods have now deleted all the posts and rightly so. I'll remove what I said also, as I do not want to take the focus away from Mr Kean. However, I apologise if I offended anyone but it is clear that I was not making any reference to a condition that I have lost members of my own family to.
RoyRover Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 The guy is completely out of his depth and we are relegation bound while he still remains at the helm. What has he done since he's been here to justify still being in charge. He has the worst record in the clubs history and yet is still in charge. When the owners came in, Big Sam got a couple of games and then was given the boot, so how Kean has survived as long as he has is beyond me. As long as the owners keep him in charge, we a driving head long into oblivion. Here's yet another mistake that they have made; if they sack him in the next few weeks, then any new manager will have missed the chance to bring in the players he wanted. After taking us to edge of relegation, Kean should have been let go at the end of the season, because at least then he could have gone out on a positive note, a new manager, like Mark Hughes or Martin O'Neill could have been bought in, had the summer to rebuild and stamp their authority and style on the team and sent us into the new season on a high. However, we stuck by this clown and expected him to somehow turn things around. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Venkys therefore must be insane.
John Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Has anyone seen Kean’s interview on Sky today? Someone just emailed me saying he burst out laughing after watching it……. Apparently the season starts NOW!
rovers_rob Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Kean has had a pre season and a full transfer window. Players have left and players have come in so now is the time to judge him because he hasn't got an excuse. As a ROVERS fan I hope he succeeds because I don't want to see the team lose. If he does well then that means the team are winning and all is good because thats all that matters. But if he doesn't then I expect him to be sacked. Game on.
Speedie Dived Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Has anyone seen Kean’s interview on Sky today? Someone just emailed me saying he burst out laughing after watching it……. Apparently the season starts NOW! To be fair to him he originally thought it started on the 22nd August, someone needs to buy him a pocket calendar
Sverre Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I might be extremely naive, but I will give Kean a few more games to prove his worth, now that the transfer dealings are done. With the window shut every player can now focus fully on being a rovers player. Dann, Simon Vukcevic, and Yakubu should give us a much better chance of winning. Put Goodwillie in the starting eleven and let Yakubu be an impact sub for now. Additionally http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10303~2439092,00.html? "The club is now looking for everyone to give full backing to manager Steve Kean and his new-look squad as we attempt to set about the task of climbing the league table as speedily as possible."
youandwhosearmy Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Sure as $%£# that Roberts, Pederson, Salgado and Dunn start next game unless they are injured...Happy times! Imagine having a manager who knew what he was doing, im confident of a mid table position. EDIT: haha, look at Yakubu's face on that picture... http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10303~2439092,00.html?
