waggy Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 there no way VENKYS will sack kean, just buy vodoo dolls and stick pins in them, for VENKYS to sack kean it will cause them to lose face.indians ain,t like that.we could easily pick up 4 pts from the next 3 games, but more easily end up with none.we might do a brum though, carling cup and be relagated in the same season.

philipl Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Well if Kean were going he'd be gone. Seems that 12% of over 700 of us are getting their wish for relegation.
Stuart Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 There are clearly more than the two variables you suggested but anyway, why should we forget the last 9 months? Should we judge Joey Barton 'from now on' too? I'm not saying we should. Just playing devil's advocate and looking at it from his point of view. If it was up to me he'd have been long gone by now. But as that isn't happening any time soon, I'm not going to keep repeating the same things over and over. We either visibly protest, and continue to do so until he is gone, or we get behind the team, and there is zero appetite for the former. Although clearly there are more variables in that statement too...
John Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I don't think he will be going anytime soon. He is a major part of the reason why our football club is regarded as scum these days. Even if he picked up results, he is a slimey tool, don't trust him.
BRFC1995 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Perhaps they are heeding the old adage that a manager needs four/five years venkys and kean for 5 years, my 1st thought is we'd be in league 2 with bradford then i realise we simply would'nt exist..........kean ain't a winner, looks like a loser, makes excuses like a professional loser and results confirm he's a loser hard to be positive when this guy is involved at the club. It'll be a greater relief than the day ince went when this guy goes.....dependant upon the when.
John Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I like managers who have a fierce desire to win.
BRFC1995 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 i utterly despise managers that are'nt angry after a loss and believe fictitious attempts at goal stats are as good as goals when summarizing a match seen through rose tinted glasses.

With the transfer window shut, I cannot understand the need for kean to go to India. It really is a strange policy of the owners that a manager has to go there every few months. That in itself may make it difficult to get rid of Kean and appoint somebody else. As I cannot see anybody else wanting to do these trips that Kean is having to do.

daveoftherovers Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Gents, a number of you make valid points, however, we are stuck with him and our new owners, so it's love / hate until THEY repair the relationship. Until then, we simply back the team and hope we avoid the relegation that everyone else, predicts is certain to happen?

Until then, we simply back the team and hope we avoid the relegation that everyone else, predicts is certain to happen? There is a 'tipping point', when a position simply becomes untenable, for every single manager in foootball or indeed every single employee in the UK. Yep we have to back the team but perhaps more so, ensure that our feelings about Kean are known. If we lose our next two (Fulham away & Arsenal home), meaning that we've lost five on the bounce, I think you will see the protests at Ewood really kick-in and it would be an excellent time given Sky live coverage of both games.
Fife Rover Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 A real manager would not have to do the trips A real manager would refuse to accept the job at all if regular trips to Pune were a requirement of employment in the post. Simple as that!
True Blue & White Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Hasn't Kamy said the trips to Pune aren't at the insistence of Venky's but off Kean's own back?
Veevs Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Well if Kean were going he'd be gone. Seems that 12% of over 700 of us are getting their wish for relegation. Do you really think it's actually 12% of Rovers fans... personally when you add Trolls, Venkys employees, Dingles and supporters of other clubs I reckon that figure is likely to drop by a at least 50%.. so probably sits at 4-6% imo.
Stuart Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 What I don't understand about the trips is why does the manager need to speak directly to the owners so frequently - let alone travel to Pune. Surely our directors should take care of that? All this is doing is giving Kean less time to spend with the first team... ...hang on a sec, now I see the logic!

In the fullness of time, IMO, the real reason behind Kean's frequent trips to India will emerge and it will become clear why he's relatively bullet proof. In the last fortnight, at least one brother has spent several days in the UK. It all defies logic, however, nothing should surprise us about the, IMO, cretinous behaviour of Kean.

The only reason I can see why he keeps making the trips is to keep them onside. Kean knows he shouldn't have got the job in the first place and deep down must know he isn't up to it. He keeps making trips and therefore showing that he is a hard worker to distract them and prevent the sudden realisation in their minds that they made a huge mistake.
John Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I wonder if he works even longer hours these days since he became manager. Everyone must remember this whole "dream" was sold to Venkys by Kentaro.
Plastic Head Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I like managers who have a fierce desire to win. I like mangers who have a fierce ability to win.
Backroom DE. Agree with this, I think it's just a tactic to show how hard of a worker he is and how he'll quite literally "go the extra mile" to personally see them. Venky's are probably too ignorant about football itself to realise how detrimental such visits actually are.

I have an alternative theory. Most fans with even the slightest bit of optimism have long departed these boards.
John Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 How can you be optimistic? Look at what has happened since Venkys have taken over. How are these additional income stream plans and Indian marketing vision coming along by the way? Could not even get a sponsor at a reduced fee ffs.

Things haven't gone well but I wouldn't exactly say the wheels have fallen off just yet. When was the last time we signed 6 players? Some of which with a lot of potential. I can see what they are trying to do, even though the execution is haphazard (to say the least)
