[Archived] Steve Kean

Glenn

We're now had our worst start since the 1950s, but an improved performance and some bad luck. So how do people feel?

I agree. But just because he is in the squad, does not mean he will play - I hope. Come January maybe we can ship him of to the dingles or to anyone who will have him.

Why would Myles give up a nice little earner? Let's be honest here, the lads been given a contract at Ewood that he would never have got anywhere else. Why - well who knows?

According to Glen he is 1 defeat away from it

Which is a problem in itself. As it may depend on who Rovers lose too. If it was arsenal etc, Kean would just say it was an expected defeat. My view is, as he has kentario as his agent, that is enough for him to be sacked now. If Mrs D believes kentario etc has done harm to either them or the club - then clear the decks completely.

A complete fresh start is what Rovers need. There is in my view potential in the Rovers squad, which is short of a decent manager to bring them together as a team.

Correct. But he has not got a say in it. If the club want to loan him out, then he goes. If the club want to terminate his contract, he goes. Whilst he is in the club, he can just report back to daddy everything going on. The club should find away to get rid. That includes, Kean and Jensen as well. Anybody management wise connected to Kentario, I would like to see kicked out of the club.

Lose the next four (very possible) and he's just got to go if we want to give ourselves any chance of stopping up.

It wouldn't be much of a chance.

31 games left 40 points needed.

Of the 31 games left, half of those would be away from home.

Of the, say 16 home games left, how many of those could we really be expected to win under any manager - let's say 6 along with 5 draws. That equals 23 points at home. How would we get 17 points from away games to get us up to 40?

That scenario if achieved, would be astonishing. It would mean us going from 7 losses in 7, to achieving CL form.

That's the problem with continually giving him more time. We will very quickly be past the point of no return. Venky's should never have let the club get to the point we are presently at.

Jensen hasn't been much of a success, we've been poor since he arrived:

Jenson won 3/19 league games 16%

Kean won 5/24 league games 21%

Just dont want Venkys thinking that if Kean goes then Jensen takes over, or at least stays, as for me both simply have to go.

Let's pretend Kean's just been sacked...

Based on the prior record of the owners (up to this point) we can estimate that they would do one of three things;

1. Replace Kean with Jensen

2. Replace Kean with another unknown

3. Replace Kean with a big name, promising transfer fee's and a big contract (would be the only way a big name would even consider managing us at present)

Using my evaluation of the owners up to this point, I would say number 3 is extremely unlikely, unless we get to the point where they need a miracle to save their investment.

So out of 1 & 2... which would choose?

I would personally rather shoot myself in the face, than choose either. Therefore my choice was Kean has to stay. (at least for the time being) As one of posters said, the situation has to be evaluated after everygame, and SK is on a real threadbare tight rope.

I think they would get a ok/decent name in like alan curbishley.

The wouldn't sack Kean and go with Jensen as he is only on a rolling contract and they will blame him as much, partner in crime.

They will not know any unknowns externally.

Out of 1 and 2 the answer has to be neither !

Competent owners simply have to employ a proven, competent premier league manager. Who that is, I dont know, but thats what they are trusted to do as respected owners of Blackburn Rovers football club.

The longer we run with Kean and bad results (his track record since taking over does not suggest that this is about to change), the worse the confidence within 'the group' will become and the more difficult it will become for the new boys to bed-in.

Philipl mentioned earlier today that we are already 6 points down on last season (Wolves & Everton at home).

I am sick and tired of Kean's excuses. Injuries in defence didn't help but what about all the injuries Sam had to contend with and what about Kean's selections in midfield and up front !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good management is about best utilising your available resources, so what does Kean do, he drops the players who have got our goals. How costly is that - well, one goal against Everton would have got us a point, one more goal against Wolves would have got us another point. The fact is, one home goal in two matches stinks and the injuries in defence are just another excuse from the deceitful, bullsh1tting weasel that I think Kean is.

This man has to go. IMO, he fails miserably as both a football manager and as a decent human being.

I think it's encouraging that Venky's seem to have seen the error of their ways and have started employing people who give the club a structure. It's now time to remove Kean so we can start clawing our way back towards something approaching respectability.

If it was clear that Venky's would sack Kean as a result of losing to Fulham then I think I'd take a loss to secure that. He's a national and local joke and willtake us down regardless of the next result.

34 games left and a decent, experienced manager would see us to next season.

I think there's no chance of getting Moyes in, but I think Hughes might come on a short term contract. If not then I would look at O'Neill.

Don't think with can risk getting someone with no PL experience, unfortunately...

why the hell, is everybody or most people hoping we lose to Fulham? Chances are Kean will still have a job, irresepective if we lose or not. The fact is, we need to win, or pick up points and quickly, or no manager will be able to save us, if we are left behind. I want Kean out, but im hoping that we can somehow miraculously turn things around. Its not looking good at the moment, but the players should now step up to the plate, and the players should now start to drag the team out of this hole. Its now not the time to blame anybody, because we could in all honesty just cause more harm than good. The players we have are good enough to turn things around, our squd is much better than Swansea, Ipswich, and a few other teams, but our mentality needs to change, and somebody needs to kick Kean up the backside in order to get things going.

From what Glen Mullan has said, the Club's infrastructure has been sorted and Venky's are learning. On that basis i reckon they would make a sensible appointment.

I agree.

When they first took over, Anderson & Kentaro had their feet under the table, leading to the appointment of Kean.

If what we've been led to believe is true, then the likes of Simon Hunt would advise the owners on finding an experienced replacement.

Weve gone past the stage of giving Kean a kick up the backside to get things going. Time is of the essence now before its too late.
