Mercer Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Why? Do you know Robinson personally and he has informed you of his dismay towards Kean? Or are you just making an assumption based on your own feelings about Kean? (yes I think he is useless before you ask) Have met Robbo and, as footballers come, he's an intelligent and articulate guy. As he's arguably at his peak, couldn't envisage him staying around under Kean as it's difficult to envisage us remaining in the PL with Kean in charge. It aint rocket science.

Rover_Shaun Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Rocket science or not you are still making assumptions. Who knows what the future holds? Kean may look clueless but you never know. I didn't expect Enzo Bearzot to win the world cup Wasn't it reported that Robbo was offered a contract for life back in January?
glen9mullan Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I think Kean should be spending more time thinking about getting a result on Sunday than discussing new contracts ect. This is another one of his mind games to deflect the real important issue's which we face. Getting three points on Sunday is the most important issue at the moment and he should be giving that his maximum attention. Rewards of new contracts ect, IMO are not important the first week of September
bonerdude Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Is Tony Parkes not at the club still i thought he had taken some scouting role when sam was in charge?

Roost Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Is Tony Parkes not at the club still i thought he had taken some scouting role when sam was in charge? Think he quit some weeks ago.....
Fife Rover Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Yeah it is slightly concerning. Would you sign again under Kean? Doubtful if you had choices elsewhere, especially if more money is involved. Easy to forget how lucky we have been over the years. Hughes must have had some pull identifying and recruiting the quality he obtained at smallish money with the likes of Bellamy, Samba, Bentley, RSC, Oojer, etc...and brilliant management skills to get the best out of troublesome players like Benni, Bentley and Bellamy. We will have a top class manager again one day. Everything comes... Spot on. The sad bit is that he is available right now...............but for how much longer? Afraid we are going to miss the boat on this one.
Amo Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Spot on. The sad bit is that he is available right now...............but for how much longer? Afraid we are going to miss the boat on this one. What makes you think he'd even want on this boat?
Fife Rover Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 What makes you think he'd even want on this boat? We'll never know if we don't ask will we?
Veevs Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Kean looking to offer new deals to some players Anyone want to bet that Roberts and Dunny get new deals if Kean remains in charge? Only Robbo and Hoilett need to be signed up imo. Could be a new tactic to try and motivate players.. lol Save my butt and I will give you all HUGE contracts..
Billy Castell Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 More like lick my butt if Roberts is anything to go by.
Balwer Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Didn't Robbo sign a new contract when Nelsen did?
Andy Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I think Sunday will show us once and for all if the players are behind Kean or not. This is his 'Wigan' match and in Ince's last game the players left us in no doubt that they weren't playing for him.
hi-jaq Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Think he quit some weeks ago..... I was talking to him at a match the other week, he was on a scouting assignment for Blackpool.

PAFELL Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I Yet again Kean falling back on a cheque book to try to cover the hole in his ability. It's called trying to buy friends. Or a lift home, as he is banned from driving
dubdubdub Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Yet again Kean falling back on a cheque book to try to cover the hole in his ability. When has he used his cheque book before this then in a manner that could be conceived as him buying his way out of trouble?
Mercer Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 When has he used his cheque book before this then in a manner that could be conceived as him buying his way out of trouble? Back in January when the 'silence' and 'support' of Salgado, Nelsen and Roberts was, arguably, bought by new extended contracts which look, IMO, more farcical by the day in view of the performances and availability of the three in question.
sam_rovers Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 This is not the first time we've heard that Kean will be shown the door if he loses one more game but it has, unfortunately, never materialized. I hope it's finally true and he gets what he deserves but I also hope that the owners have someone competent lined up to take over afterwards. We can't afford to go through anymore "transitional periods" without leadership at the club. I'm already really fearful about the possibility of relegation and we're only three games into the season.
roverandout Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 i know i will get pillored for this but i hope we get beat on sunday so kean gets the boot.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 i know i will get pillored for this but i hope we get beat on sunday so kean gets the boot. You are an absolute disgrace.
roverandout Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 well i knew you would call me that (well i knew most people would) but if its for the good of the future of the club then we have to make sacrifices.

I know that you are extremely negative but wanting Rovers to get beat is beyond the pale.
roverandout Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 look, im only negative because thats how the situation has evolved. When im there on a saturday/or what ever day with my season ticket, im right behind them, im no more happy about this than you but thats the hand we have been dealt and now we have to arrange that hand so we come out on top.
