I remember people holding up Owen Coyle as proof that it was possible to play aesthetically pleasing football on a budget and succeed in this league.

What's happening now is whats been demonstrated countless times before - in the short term it works well as teams don't expect it. But not in the long term.

In fairness, I shudder to think how many we would leak if we had Bolton's injury problems.

Coyle always had to be judged after a few seasons.

Managers are successful not from one season, but from multiple. Managers like Ferguson, Hughes, Moyes, Allardyce, Redknapp have been doing it season after season. They know how to get results for the team they manage. They are quality managers.

Other managers inspire one day and then don't the next and then they don't know what to do.

Is there anybody who wouldnt swap Kean for Coyle?

Frightening how Fulham and Swansea winning has suddenly made that bottom end an awful lot less congested and make us look an awfully lot more vulnerable to relegation.

And we go to QPR next where Warnock will have been a bear with a sore head for two weeks putting Rovers inability to defend at serious risk of reaping the QPR whirlwind if we don't have a Manager worthy of the title by then.

So Mrs Desai, relaxed about getting relegated are we?

Or are you finally going to start behaving like a grown up responsible football club owner, understand that Kean's utterly abysmal statistics (unlike his mouth) don't lie and do the sensible and responsible thing by firing the man who is single handedly destroying you personally, your business reputation and your family's wealth.

I still say it's a long season and there will be three worse teams than us. Kean will be sacked if this bad run continues..We lost to a far superior team. A couple ofn their goal were a bit unfortunate. There star player is worth more than we paid for the whole team. (near enough). We will never compete with them financially unless we get a Russian or other worth 20 billion.

chocky please name the three worst teams as I'm dying to hear who they are? Bolton although bottom have played united, chelsea and city at home and i think arsenal away. The fixtures have been cruel to them. I think i can see where you are coming from squad wise but our 'manager' knocks 5 league positions off due to his incompetence. He's a useless fecker plain and simple.

Like I said too many more losses and he'll be sacked. With our sqaud we should be doing better.

4 points from 7 games and a shocking goal difference, no sign of improvement, clueless tactics, crowd 99% against him, attendances dwindling, losing to teams we should be taking something off, tough fixtures to come and there's an air of relegation already. By my rough calculation taking away the games we'll definitely get beat in i think we'll need approx 38 points from 21 ish games. God this is depressing.

7 or 8 of the next 10 games are against teams who will probably struggle and make up the bottom section of the league at the end. Never has it been more important that we are well prepared and ready to go for these games. It's vital that we get rid of Kean now and get someone in who can spend some time with the players and get them organised. We can't afford to lose against the likes of QPR, Norwich and Swansea so lack of action will hurt us.

To be in with a shout of staying up, we probably need to average 2 points a game over the next 10 games. Many of those games are against teams who will probably be around us come may. Venkys need to act now before its too late.

The importance of this post cannot be over-stated.

Our points and goal difference is ALREADY building a big problem for us getting away from trouble. For instance, if we win at QPR, the highest we can move to is 15th and even that might not be all that likely with Bolton playing Wigan.

Defeat at QPR could mean we effectively slip three points from safety as early as our very next game given that horrific negative goal difference we have clocked up so quickly.

The other thing to remember is that it is early enough in the season for potential Managers not to be seeing Rovers as a big big relegation risk. Leave Kean in charge for another couple of games and the Rao family could find they have been too slow. Names like Hughes, Benitez and O'Neill which have been whispered about would see Rovers after another couple of poor defeats in the next two games as being too far gone already for them to be completely confident of turning it around and therefore would not allow their names to be considered.

Whereas there might be a chance of getting a star high profile manager now if the vacancy happens tomorrow.

is that hypothetical or are you thinking along the lines of if we bluff our way through against the toon and the clarets get through in the cup and we are drawn together? Either way he has to go asap and I'll say it if no one else will. I'll take a one nil home defeat to them if it rids our club of him.

DONT TALK STUPID

Today we need 36 points from 31 games. If we fail to get results against QPR and Spurs we will need 36 from 29..

I believe we could be dead and buried by the end of October. What we have to achieve is rapidly looking impossible even with a manager in charge.
