On this board we are much more pessimistic than we should be. The main betting sites have us 10-11 odds on to go down. Wigan 1-3, then all four of Wolves, Bolton, Norwich and Swansea roughly 2-1 against. Given poor points tally of bottom 6, and unbalanced high points tally for top 6, 36 points could be enough to stay up. We need some perspective. Played abysmally v Wigan after 4-5 decent performances on the trot. You'd think we were 1-5 to go down from this board.

And this is a good post too.I'll save my long post I had written to say, QPR losing to Fulham 6-0, Stoke City, Sunderland, there are a number of teams that are dubious, maybe they can rise to the challenge but a number are out there.

The betting odds are utterly meaningless compared with what we witnessed at Wigan yesterday.

We are Championship bound.

There is something rotten to the core at our club. We will never know the half of what has gone or is still going on.

One thing is for sure, once the dead corpse of BRFC is picked clean they will simply move on, we are the first of many clubs to die under this bloated money train.

It's ironic as we are always thought of as the club who bought the league are the first to be broken by the league.

Did you go yesterday ?

Can you really see us avoiding relegation ?

We have 7 points from 12 games ..So 29 points from 26 games is achievable with Kean in charge ?

There are some games out of the 26 remaining in which we have no chance in .....

We will be 1-5 to get relegated soon .

Jack Walker cared ..Venkys don't therein lies the difference .We have been relegated before...

It's not all over for Rovers yet.

The PL table is developing into its usual pattern.

The top 6 or 7 if you include NUFC will subdivide this time into the top 1 or 2 plus the rest.

Followed by the midtable (Villa, probably Everton plus a couple of others including IMO NUFC)

Followed by the rest in the bottom half dog fight.

Including the Wigan game Rovers next 6 games were/are against bottom half teams.

We got a point yesterday AWAY to Wigan so at a points level did OK. The next 5 PL games for Rovers are all games in which we have a chance that must be taken.

Get Kean out now, put Nelsen in a caretaker if a top manager can't be found immediately and there might yet be a chance.

Under Kean we have no chance and I do not buy into ''the players are behind him''. They are currently just going about their job. They need a manager to properly organise and motivate them.

Waggy

I know we have, and you know what little I saw of the Burnley - Leeds game showed me there is life after death, after all my first games were under Howard Kendall !!!!

They still had a connection with there clubs something we have lost... Maybe a step back is needed before a step forward can be made.

Relegation would not dull my love of this club, in fact some of my best footballing days are in the lower divisions. Think we need to face facts that unless there is a massive realisation within the top brass of our club we are off to the Championship.

The problem being fudge is that relegation will rip this club to pieces,it will be unrecognisable from what we have now.

Yes,your love for Rover may never die but the club itself could in all reality.

You may be right there.

But look at Leeds, they have been to hell and back with regard to finance.

Someone would buy our burnt out corpse, and maybe we are best out of this money soaked EPL.

I do think we are the first of many.

What happens when Sky turn round and say well this time we are only offering you this....

They are in charge, the game will implode.

Maybe getting out of it's impact now may help us survive in the long run.

The next TV deal will be bigger than ever with some serious competition for Sky for the first time. ESPN (backed by the Disney Corp) will try and break the bank and it will become a Dutch auction. But it's a vicious circle. If (bloody big if mind) we survive and ultimately get more money most of that will go on players salaries. Platini's new financial regulations will ultimately kick in and may have more impact on clubs like us.

Money money money money

It is ripping the heart out the game.

We are not wanted at the table though.

Us, Stoke, Wigan, Bolton, and clubs like us are not wanted

We are heading for European super league an NFL type place, big bucks, big franchise...

And you know what, I want a football club not some Disney creation !!!!!

Couldn't agree more fudge, I would prefer to support a football club who have values and work within their means than the current situation where money is everything. I watched some of the spanish league games last night and the play acting and diving by prima donna's is just so sickening.

Oh for the days when the gravy train stops calling at all stations 'football'.

Stoke have enjoyed significant funding recently. Their Chairman is also Chairman of one of the UK's fastest growing companies (unfortunately for the country us all it is in the field of gambling  ).

For what it's worth it's looking inreasingly like Pulis is one of those managers who perform better with little money by instilling a strong team ethic into average or previously under achieving players. Many opined with certain justification that both Allardyce and Hughes were both firmly in this category although I'd wager an awful lot that neither would ever admit it.

:excl:

Moving on to what I see as inevitable.......... It seems BRFC are soon to be on financial skid row and alongside or in even worse financial condition than the the terminally skint Burnley, PNE and the heavily indebted BWFC. Would anybody like to put their businessman's hat on and propose a long term solution to move forward with?

Without a change in manager, I think we are doomed.

Even a change in manager might not work because I think that virtually all, bar Yak, Kean's signings are either useless (Anderson, Ribeiro, Petro etc ) or overrated (Dann, Goodwillie, Formica etc). Supporters talk of Rochina's potential but you begin to sense why he was surplus to requirements at Barca.

All the players making a real contribution this season are those he inherited.

If we go down, I fear it will be the end simply because we do not have the same fan base as some of the bigger city clubs who suffered similar fates eg Leeds and our gates will, sadly IMO, fall dramatically to around the 10k mark.

You're nearly with me mercerman. Move forward in logical steps and you cannot fail to come to the same conclusion.

“We won’t get relegated,” Kean said, “absolutely no chance.” in the Daily Telegraph yesterday.

Sorry Steve but you are flat wrong.

Under you, relegation is an absolute certainty- yiu are a useless Manager, end of.

Even if we get shot of Kean and bring in a real manager, I doubt the squad we have is strong enough to pull back the 7 points after goal difference on Swansea or Norwich (whom I consider to be the real contanders with us for 17th) in the next 26 games.

So to escape the fate that we so currently seem bound to share with Wigan, we need to be rid of Kean , get a good new manager and have a very successful January window.

Given Venky's propensity for really screwing up and finding a decision to make that is even worse than the options you pre-supposed were available, we are as good as relegated already.

On current form 4 pts adrift after 12 games we could be 12 pts adrift after 34 games and with GD mathematically down in very early april so that's 22 games to change the inevitable...........2012 just seems a dire prospect

the year we went down I still watched the arsenal game with some....very little but some optimism before bergkamp killed us off

this time all optimism is dead and it's still sodding November

cheers venkys your all c@&&&

Just think, sometimes teams get relegated and they still have a load of points....

All of these teams got relegated.

2010-11 Brum, 39 points. Wolves stay up with 40.

2007-08 Reading, 36 points. Fulham stayed up with 36.

2006-07 Sheffield Utd., 38 points. Wigan stayed up with 38 points.

2002-03, this was a really tough year, West Ham goes down with 42 points.

1997-98 Bolton, 40 points.

1996-97 Sunderland 40 points.

7 points at this stage of the season (under this complete numpty) equates to 21-23 points at the end of the season. That's not just relegation, it's utter devastation. I've always considered a point a game to be relegation form. Half a point a game? For this reason alone Kean HAS to go. Combined with the rest of the sh#t flying around, it's amazing how he's survived for so long.

Venkys, get a little faith back from the fans by acting now. Sack Kean. Bring in a PROPER manager. I've said it before, I would not be unhappy with MoN. I know lots don't like him but at least he knows how to manage!

Just noticed next weekend's fixtures.

After being the Saturday lunchtime kickoff away at Stoke, we can settle down to watching clubs above us gathering points as it is:

Bolton v Everton

Norwich v QPR

Sunderland v Wigan

Swansea v Villa

Even a draw at the Britannia could well see us further a drift from safety. A defeat and we will already be toast.

Why worry about it Philip? Bluefudge and one or two others want us to be relegated believe it or not. Bloody unbelievable!

Bluefudge does not want us relegated !!!!

But at least I'm prepared to even discuss it.

Unbelievable that Ewood has not turned on these idiots running our club.

All I'm saying is face it, the way we are, the way we are playing, we look like a club in freefall.

But dont worry I'm sure Mr Kean has a plan !!!!!

Stoke Away- 26th November

Swansea Home- 3rd December.

Sunderland Away - 11th December.

West Brom Home- 17th December

Bolton Home- 20th December.

Liverpool Away - 26th December.

Man United Away - 31st December.

Usually, not a bad run. Under Kean, one win at most based on his record. What is it now? Three wins in how many games?
