Perhaps I am being a bit OTT, however the damage could already be done regardless of a new manager coming in.

Sadly you are right John. This is already a more grim situation than the one Sam rescued us from post-Ince.

It also pre-supposes the Venky's would actually make a sound decision in the choice of replacement. Based on Venky's decision making to date, we can have 100% confidence they will totally screw up.

It would be the 'mysterious' Steve N. Cognito:

It is super hard to get one out of this jam, it was about 2 or 3 years ago, the Spurs were down there with Juande Ramos I believe and he was sacked and Redknapp came in. You'd really need one of the top coaches to come in and be able to get you out of a jam but I have hopes. Likewise, West Ham had Curbishley come into that situation but that is tainted because they had of course, Tevez on the club.

E-I-E-I-E-I-O,

Down The Football League We Go,

When We Get Relegated,

This Is What We'll Sing,

We Are Blackburn, We Are Blackburn,

Someone Shoot Steve Kean!

:D

All too true.

Fulham leading at Arsenal so we are getting even more isolated at the bottom.

Meantime Sam's West Ham are playing some fantastic stuff and now lead Derby 3-1.

Oh if only Sam were still at Ewood...

Writing was on the wall when the trust sold us to these idiots. Then sacking Sam (although frankly he'd have left anyway). Then appointing Kean.

Pains me to say it, but we're going down.

34 games and 29 points! Average is going down rapidly, we earned many more points last season (proportionately) than this season.

We are now into this easier run of winnable games and we have 1 point from the last 6 available!

There is no chance in the world that we will get 33 points from the last 25 games. We are going down and nobody, not the media ,not the manager, and not the owners care but us.

The only questions remaining are:

Will we survive at all?

If so, how far will we sink?

I will never see Rovers in the top division again.

The problem is, most people look at the table and think "oh, well, we're only 4 points away from 17th, we'll be reet". Truth is, long-term we are looking at not just an improbable but an impossible prospect in terms of getting the points traditionally needed to survive.

As long as Kean is manager we are going down, that much is obvious. It doesn't matter how much support the players get, they aren't good enough to stay up without a proper manager guiding them. Even if we get a decent manager in (does anyone really trust Venky's to do this?) then we'll still be praying for the average points needed to stay up to be significantly lower than in previous seasons.

IMO we're already gone, but I said that over a month ago. Sadly, it won't sink in for a lot of fans until February or March when we truly are adrift, and by that point it'll be far too late.

Kevin Gallagher made an interesting point on Radio Lancs today.

He argued that clubs need to work on an average of 1 point per match.

We have 7 from 13 matches.

If we were to win the next 3, we would be back up to that average. And then we might have to get ahead of that average by winning the one after that as we're more than likely to win the subsequent 2 ( away at Liverpool and Manchester United).

So, if we win the next 4, we would be back on track.

Can anyone imaging us doing all that?

Neither could the pundits.

Did Coco/JA feed him that? I remember Gally as quite feisty but 'his' column in the LT and on comments on the radio have made me re-think my views.
