One more game until the half way point in the season, need probably 30 more points to stay up after accumulating 11 so far - do we think it could be a low amount needed this season or best to work off 40 points?

Kean said post match we have momentum now so anything could be possible???

Even with a decent manager the only way we'd stay up this year is if there was a record amount of low points required to stay in the division.

In truth, between us, Wigan, Bolton and Wolves there is the potential to hit an all time low... but Wigan or Wolves will probably hit a small vein of form at some point and pull away.

It's possible... there's about 10 winnable games. If investment does come in and we get the 4 quality players into the squad, and players come back from injury then we have a good chance of winning a good portion of those 10 games. If not all 10 then at least 7 or 8, which should be enough to keep us up.

Those are big ifs though.

Let's not give up on the team though.

some of the clubs are pulling away now, if qpr beat swansea tommorow, i think there will be a 7 point gap between us and the teams from 16th and up, i havent taken wolves into account as i cant see them beating arsenal, if they did though then we are screwed, take into account we will get nothing at man utd the gap will probably be bigger!!!

Bloody right they're big if's.

There's no way we will be able to sign four "quality" players, unless you mean the Denis Irwins, Chris Smalling's and Batistuta's of this world.

Loans and other club's unwanted players like Andy Johnson is the type of player we'll get.

I haven't given up yet. Yes, even though we are in the hands of some very poor owners and manager, we are still not 'too far' adrift. I think we are favourites to go down, and rightly so, but, if we could get a bit of a run going, you never know. Relegation would be a disaster for us, so I'm trying to remain focussed on Rovers, not the temporary owners/manager.

I wish there was, but there's nothing to suggest we're at any kind of turning point. The last 7 games - of which 6 were our opportunity to go on a "long unbeaten run", have seen us take 5 points out of a possible 21. The next game will very probably see that sequence stretched to 5 points out of 24.

You have not factored in the Kean effect. If Kean spends the money we will end up with the same bunch of no hopers that he bought in summer and even if he does get decent players they will all be played in the wrong positions just as they are now. That's if they even get into the team, like Rochina who is probably the most talented player we have, they will sit on the bench. Particularly if they dare to challenge Kean about tactics as is rumoured with Robinson and Nelsen. If Kean stays we go down. Fact.

I think we are down anyway, as I see it we have 20 games, take out the 'big boys' and it leaves us with 13 games to get 27pts ( figure 38 will be enough) so we are looking at 9 wins from 13 'do able games' but as with yesterday a point against any of the big boys will only help us. But I still think its a massive uphill battle for any manager never mind coco.

I think yesterday's result proves we have turned that infamous corner which we keep hearing about.

Sarcasm I trust John. Mind you, you didn't say what was around the corner.

In a rare moment of optimism though, haven't heard anything of Steven Pienaar since he disappeared into the Spurs black hole. Not someone I've ever paid great attention to, but could he do anything positive for our midfield as a loan for the rest of this season?

Sorry, Kean/Venkys ownership is making me lose my mind.

So many managers love Kean to bits now therefore perhaps a favorable loan deal from a club like Spurs could be on the cards - need a ball winner though, we have enough flair I think.

Jamie Redknapp - HALF-TERM REPORT: They've had a really difficult start to the season. I don't think it's a case of the players not trying for their manager but it must be extremely hard for them knowing what the crowd will be like at every game. If Steve Kean manages to get through this and keep Blackburn up, he will be able to get through anything. However, I think it's inevitable that they will change the manager... but I do think Blackburn will stay up. They are nowhere near as bad as what they're showing and if they get a few players in to help out Yakubu and Junior Hoilett up front and Scott Dann, Chris Samba and Ryan Nelsen, when fit, at the back, I think they could surprise everybody.

KEY MAN: Chris Samba

Gloomy looking, Wolves get Bolton next so they could end up with 18 by the end of the year vs. Rovers 11. If only Bolton could defeat them to help us out, sigh, QPR likewise one would hope drop to Swans and next to the Gunners.

Lot of weak games by the Rovers including that one at Stoke, Stoke at home on Jan. 2nd already.

Our point at Anfield meant nothing anyway, on the basis of losing to WBA and Bolton at home, not to mention throwing away the Sunderland game.

It didn't mean nothing, it was still a point. We would have been better off getting a result in one of the other games, but we went into that game with 10 points and came out with 11.

Results didn't really go our way this weekend as there have been other surprising scorelines, but we are by no means so far adrift that we should lose hope and it is still very much possible that we can turn it around.

It looks as though the likes of Wigan, Bolton, QPR and Wolves will hang about at the bottom with us, so if we can pick up points there is a very chaseable pack just in front of us.

The problem being, of those four teams you mentioned, we haven't beaten a single one of them. In fact we've lost to two of them at home.
