If we stay up and get 15k attendances next year then the media will simply say that rovers fans don't deserve premier league football and that we are a embarrassment to the league.

Meanwhile radio silence will continue from Pune and Kean will still be in charge. Arsenal fans will boo Wenger and be lauded for demanding excellence and Everton fans will continue their protests and be supported because a famous old club like that 'deserves success'.

Bang on the money BL!

'The likes of Wigan and Blackburn shouldn't be in the league'.

Lee Clark left Huddersfield, Wolves?

almost certainly I would have said

Almost certainly not I would say...Steve Morgan was in the press earlier in the week saying the job requires and experienced manager. Lee Clark doesn't fit his description.

you're right as ever Le Chuck, just been reading. It appears it is more likely a mutual parting rather than him leaving to join another club. As you say experience is needed, word on the street is Bruce! Don't really know what appeal he holds to be quite honest?

I'd be happy with Bruce there...sounds like the fans would be against it because of his Birmingham connections, so that might cause more problems that it would solve. I'd much prefer him to go there than Curbishley.

Not a fan of Bruce at all but looking at the options there aren't many. Curbishley out of practise? Megson? Dave Jones? Avram Grant <_<. This seems to be a bit of a knee jerk by Wolves. Surely they would have drawn up available targets before giving Mick the axe?

Per Post #1095 ( http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php/topic/25228-the-relegation-thread/page__st__1080 ), the clubs playing the Top 7 plus 9 Sunderland who almost have a top club form since MON came.

Matches against: Man City, Man Utd. Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Liverpool and Sunderland, maybe that is an odd way to frame the situation and a bit complex.

Rovers - 5 matches, difficult under any manager.

Bolton - 5 such matches as well.

QPR - 7 matches

Wigan - 5 matches

Wolves - 5 matches

QPR (currently on 21 points)

* Fulham home

* Everton home

* Bolton Wanderers away

* Liverpool home

* Sunderland away

* Arsenal home

* Manchester United away

* Swansea City home

* West Bromwich Albion away

* Tottenham Hotspur home

* Chelsea away

* Stoke City home

* Manchester City away

Can see Villa getting dragged into it too. Thet got a tough looking run-in.

Dunne out for two months, and not a great manager.

Agree to a point but with Agbonlahor ,Nzogbia and Bent think they will have enough...Will beat some rival teams near the bottom...

Knee jerk? It's like us losing 1-5 at home to Burnley and dropping into a relegation place at the same time!

Can't be worse than the likes of Bruce, Curbs et al.

Based on what? He was rubbish at Everton, Curbishley is a far better manager. Bruce has a better record in the PL as well.

I'd be happy if Wolves appoint him. Reminds me of when Sunderland appointed Howard Wilkinson.

Based on my opinion :) If Curbs was as good as the board's consensus thinks he is, someone probably would have hired him already. And I can't see Bruce being someone who would turn a team's fortunes around overnight. Appoint him in June, give him a budget and he'll keep you in the league is my view of him.

Sky Sports sources understand Walter Smith has turned down the chance to become Wolves manager until the end of the season.

So Connor will get a deal until end of season?

Wolves are now in deep, deep trouble having failed to appoint a replacement manager almost a fortnight after having axed big MM.

Clearly, IMO, Rovers are not the only club managed by incompetents.

You sack a manager at this stage of the season and you are deep in the mire then you have to replace within days.

Whoever takes over will now be widely known to be 3rd or 4th choice and will impact on their credibility, particularly with the players.

IMO, this is the only good news about for Rovers at the moment.

Fair enough!

Wolves themselves obviously see Curbishley as a better bet though, considering they've tried to get him twice before turning to Smith.

I think Bruce's Birmingham connections have ruled him out, the fans wouldn't stand for it.

Smith managed a highest finish of 13th whilst at Everton. Both Curbishley and Bruce have done considerably better than that with smaller clubs. Apparently Smith lost the plot in a bigger way than Souness did towards the end, if Everton fans are to believed anyway.

Amazingly poor management indeed!

I guess it's just a toal lack of funds which has screwed them? Apparently can't afford the 2m compo for McDermott.

I don't know if when Newcastle hired Kinnear, that was a similar situation about 2, 3 years ago but it was similar in that it came out of the blue, unexpected. Well, the Wolves are a low profile type club. Maybe a manager that has not been that active but it experienced and finishing the season out really is not that bad of an idea.

All in all, when City brought in Mancini and I know City has rich owners but Mancini with all that wealth has done well if you want to say he is a "foreign type" that came in to the PL.

It's just a bit odd that this story has been so public.

Better record than Kean, though.
